Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Port Phillip Estate is a romantic getaway on the Mornington Peninsula. The accommodation is luxurious, and the housekeeping is excellent. You will get a good night's sleep on these comfortable beds. You can have a mid-week escape or a weekend getaway. The winery and restaurant are great to celebrate that a special occasion.

Had two nights at Port Phillip Estate and it was amazing! Pure luxury from the moment you step inside the front door. Rooms are incredibly spacious with outstanding views over vineyards. All furniture, linens, kitchen and bathroom supplies of extremely high quality. Fantastic team who are all professional, friendly and accommodating. Great cellar door and restaurant on site. Would highly recommend staying here, we can’t wait to stay again.

Our daughter is getting married here and we came down to do a food and wine tasting and stayed overnight in this luxury retreat. Rooms absolutely gorgeous and the beds were so comfortable. Spectacular vies overlooking the vineyards. Breakfast superb and delivered to the room. More like a country home than a hotel. Brilliant!

The accommodations at Port Phillip Estate feel like a well-kept secret. The rooms themselves are very private, downstairs underneath the tasting area and restaurant, and have stunning views of the back property, including the vineyards--and the bay! The entry to the downstairs area as well as the rooms themselves are controlled electronically, since there is no staff at the estate after 5 pm. It's more like a bed and breakfast in that sense. The rooms are huge, with a separate sitting area, couch, and table as well as a big TV. The bed is on a raised platform, and the bathroom is very spacious, with a full soaking tub and a nice rain shower. We had lunch at the restaurant, which was one of the best meals on our trip, and also really enjoyed the wines from the estate. The daily breakfast provided was very nice and a good amount of food--yogurt, granola, two loaves of bread, juice, and milk. It wasn't a ton of food but was perfectly adequate for a breakfast. We also considered staying at Jackalope, and we did go there for dinner and thought it was very cool, but it's definitely a larger hotel versus Port Phillip. It's also more expensive, so we felt this was a better value. All in all, a great stay.

After several visits to the Port Phillip estate I could not recommend this place highly enough. Service here is always spot on and welcoming. The food is amazing and well worthy of the prices and the views of the vineyard and out over the ocean are nothing short of insane. Perfect place to take a date to impress. Where this place really stands out is via its brutally brutal architecture. Literally a work of art.

I really love this place. Three visits now. Big dinner with a group / a three day conference / with the family for lunch. Each time it's been perfect. Accommodation is very special, well appointed, private, excellent views. The food & overall dining experience has to be one of the best on the Mornington Peninsula. Then there's the wines. Big fan of their Chardonnay and especially their estate grown Pinot Noir. Both wines regional classics and well matched to their menu. Prices are on the expensive side but you get great quality and a unique experience in the architectural slender and very special view. I'll keep going back.

The accommodation is luxurious and stunning, the wines are great and the food is excellent however the most wonderful thing about staying at Port Phillip is the staff. Those staying in the accommodation are treated like royalty, nothing is too much trouble and seem to be the priority of all the staff. We very much hope to return soon.
