The accommodation here is very nice and the setting is fabulous but it’s as if the accommodation is an afterthought or side show to the main business of wedding venues. There are just 4 rooms here all of which have balconies and sit above the main function room/restaurant.We visited over the new year period. The restaurant was closed and the site completely deserted. We were expecting to see somebody in reception but there wasn’t anybody. Fortunately we ran into another guest who told us the key had to be picked up at their local restaurant. The site is owned by Epicurean who have a restaurant The Epicurean Red Hil a short drive away. Although the property is immaculate it’s obviously not their main income stream and not a lot of effort is put into it. Having a car is essential here. If you know exactly what you are getting, like being left to your own devices, enjoy peace and quiet, this place is definitely for you. If you are expecting service of any kind forget it. I suggest they have a key box at the hotel and just email the number to retrieve it

A really beautiful location overlooking wines and trees. As it was raining we sat inside and it can be noisy even though there wasn't music. The food was very good thought the service was too slow and it's expensive. I'd like to come and sit outside next time.

This was the first time I have dined in at this lovely restaurant and I will definitely be coming back.
The wait staff were kind and very attentive. They had great knowledge of the menu, specials, and drinks and answered any questions with patience and a great amount of insight. My family and I were seated inside with the most spectacular views of the vineyard. Together they created the most enjoyable dining experience with a cozy atmosphere.
The food was just phenomenal! You can taste the high quality ingredients used on each carefully crafted plate of food. We had the calamari, oysters and tuna tartare which were all made with the freshest and finest grade of seafood out there. Followed by the most delectable cauliflower croquettes, seafood risotto, mushroom gnocchi and pea filled pasta. All just bursting with flavour! We also indulged in the tastiest pizza with the perfect base. As well as a side of house made smoked olives and focaccia.
The deserts were to die for! The homemade gelato was a refreshing way to conclude our 3 course meal and the passion fruit panna cotta was sending me on a journey.
Such creative dishes, with real authentic flavours, served by the friendliest and hard working chefs and waitstaff. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for a fine dining experience.

We booked a 1pm reservation for wine tasting and had a 1:45pm booking for lunch next door at Quattro. The food next door is delicious and the service is very good, all the waitresses were delightful. Even though we had pre booked a tasting, we were sat outside. We had 6 different wines to taste and they were enjoyable but the service was not good. The wine was poured and the waitress did not bother to tell us anything about the wine. Once finished we were even told to clean up the menu and our own wine glasses from the table. Would not recommend.

Sunday lunch. Outside table under the vines. Beautiful place. Wonderful, engaging, knowledgeable, friendly staff. Excellent manageable menu, everything was delicious to share, interesting choices, top-notch pasta. Great drinks list, fun cocktails and the wines from the vineyard. All round, just a delightful place to spend an afternoon. Will return many times. Highly, highly recommended.

The accommodation is comfortable ,the setting delightful ,there is is so much potential . Although a minor thing the mattresses on the bed are vinyl ,they are extremely hot ,there is a fabric protector on them but the actual mattress is not a fabric covering .However the reason for my review is about the manager . He is totally disengaged and has no people skills . He is dismissive and just has no interest in making his guests feel welcome . We are a group of 4 ( 2 couples) we were going to have dinner at the restaurant but we're told at 5.45 our window of opportunity for dinner was from 6 .00 until 6.30 pm ,and told "we've been here all day " and if you want a hot breakfast it's not available until 10am . The final straw was at checkout when we sheepishly inquired about our included complimentary bottle of wine , he didn't offer we had to ask and he just walked away from us to a shelf 4 meters away took 2 and put them on the bar ,then walked back to us empty handed and said there they are pointing to where he had placed them . Wouldn't you just return with them ? But it's his abrupt manner and lack of friendliness or approachability that will keep us and other guests from staying here in the future.

We first stayed here one year ago and the service/food was very good. We decided to come back a year later and found the service a bit lower in standard. According to another review here the Vineyard has changed ownership which explains why its no longer called "Fredrick's" as this was the name of the previous owner's son I believe....
Anyway, we stayed one night on a Sunday and booked for the cooked breakfast online, upon arrival we were told that the chef does not work Monday's so we could not have the cooked breakfast. There is no mention of this on their site when you book online. Also on the Sunday night we went out for dinner, we found that there were no staff around at all downstairs at the front desk and the front door was unlocked, when we came back from dinner the outside lights were on but there was no one at the front desk which made me a little uneasy about possible break-in's etc. Also they do provide a complimentary bottle of wine in your room however its not actually from their own label/vineyard as I'm sure it was under the previous ownership.
The room itself was very good and its a very pleasant place to stay with great surroundings but the service and lack of staff at the accommodation needs to be fixed, especially if a guest has an emergency in their room.

Very unfriendly and unwelcoming manager. He was not at all interested in being there or attending to guests. We were told not to light the fire unless it was really, really cold (it was 10 degrees, a tad chilly)! No lighting along path, pitch black at night, a little dangerous. Rooms with cobwebs, mouldy in the showers, generally the whole estate very shabby. Breakfast ok, except no tables or chairs in room, so have to sit on the bed. We were also told the restaurant would be open on the Wednesday night and Thursday night, it was open neither of those. I do not recommend anyone to stay here.

We did not stay - we just came for lunch. The location was pleasant in a treed gully but the decor was very plain. Our order got lost. After more than an hour we got our entrees - both were excellent. We noticed that no other meals were being served and whispered explanations were going to other tables. We saw people leave without having eaten. Another hour later our mains arrived. The duck was adequate. The lamb was off. We spoke privately to the manager who initially resisted the notion but eventually apologised. I grew up on a sheep farm - herding, crutching, shearing, drenching, slaughtering, butchering, cooking and eating sheep. I know sheep and that one was off. They did however compensate us with an appropriate price reduction but all in all it was a disastrous experience. Needless to say we didn't hang around for dessert ...

This is a beautiful location. So peaceful with a room overlooking the vineyard. Unfortunately our initial wonder turned off quickly when we were "checked in". This manager did not want to be there at all. No greeting, no conversation. Our breakfast hamper was left outside our room, milk included while we were out. No toaster in the room. When asked about this were told to use the sandwich maker in the room. So no toast and didn't want to risk the milk. Dinner was at 6., no choice. We were rushed through and done by 6:45. Shower was barely a dribble. A real shame. This place could be stunning if someone gave a damm about it.
