The perfect setting for our weekend away, to start with the gorgeous cottage has every possible detail arranged for your arrival. The décor was traditional and considerate for the period and setting was warm and very inviting.
Our hosts Alex & Renee were warm, friendly and very helpful and the weekend away was well worth the experience and affordability. Overall a very pleasant setting with an easy 10min stroll to Red Hill Township to pick up the supplies and spend the rest of the time in front of the fire and a bottle of Pinot from a local winery. Well worth the effort for a relaxing weekend away, highly recommended. Enjoy!

We came to Hideaways at Red Hill for 2 nights, as we were going to a wedding nearby. We wanted a little more than a hotel, and this was perfect! The rates were expensive, but compared with the rest of the peninsula it was very reasonable! We had a great spa in the bath room that was especially good for curing the post-wedding hangover.
They provided eggs, bacon, tea, coffee, bread, cereal, milk and butter which we thought was very nice!
There was a very little courtyard that was a lovely place to eat breakfast outside. Walking distance to some of the breweries and wineries nearby, which made for a fun way to spend a saturday!
Some negatives: The aircon didn't work very well upstairs, so we were HOT overnight. However, it was an unusually hot night. No door to the toilet - I wouldn't bring someone here unless you are EXTREMELY comfortable with them!

We will definitely be back.

This place is a great place for a retreat - nice and cozy, and a comfortable size. Hosts Renee and Alex are very warm and hospitable.

I stayed at the Helier (Hannoy) Cottage for 2 nights and found the location of Hideaways very conveniently located. It was close to the local shops, restaurants, wineries and farms. Being situated on the main road, it can be a little noisy at times, but overall not enough to be a bother.

The cottage itself is a little dark on the inside due to the color scheme, but that may just be a personal preference. If you'll be out and about for most of the day, it won't be a problem. Breakfast provisions were provided in generous proportions and of good quality.

I'd recommend staying here if you're in the area - enjoy!

We booked into the Helier Cottage (formerly Hannoy) for two nights to attend a wedding.

First impressions were good with a detailed email explaining how to gain access and local tips. The split level cottage with open plan bedroom, spa, toilet upstairs appeared well appointed until we looked where to hang our clothes.

There was no hanging space! There was no ironing board, even though there was a very cheap iron. As we wanted to press and hang our clothes for the wedding we were attending, I rang the contact number. The phone did not answer and went to voice-mail. A detailed message was left and now four days after the call have still not received a response.

I could detail a range of little things such as the sparse hardened sugar and coffee, the lack of instructions on how to turn on the fireplace, the missing torch that was supposed to be essential when heading down the street at night, or poor wireless range ...there is more ... but ... I don't wish to labour the point.

Hideaways has the potential to be a good B & B but in hospitality the little things really do matter.

This is a great location to visit the Red Hill area wineries. Good size spa and good size cottage for two people. The place was warm and cosy and very comfortable. Could do with more information on local area, such as walking trails. Not sure on open plan toilet setup, even with partition in place. This property has great potential.

Accommodation in Red Hill is generally overpriced and so we were pleased to come across Jane's Hideaways offering a rate of less than $200 a night and ticking our winter weekend retreat boxes of an open fire (gas not wood but still toasty), spa and flat-screen tv and dvd .
We chose Granger cottage and had a lovely two-night stay. The cottage features period details such as warm burgundy-coloured walls, ornate gold picture frames, a wrought iron bed and an antique-looking dresser. The lounge area was warm and cosy with the gas fire and comfortable sofa and was lovely to come back to after a day exploring the area. The cottage is walking distance to The Long Table which we also ventured out to and recommend. It's also walking distance from Red Hill Brewery and the Red Hill shops.
Breakfast supplies are provided - orange juice, cereal, bacon, eggs, bread - and, whilst not of the gourmet variety from local suppliers, were of a decent quality and enjoyable. Generous supplies of body wash, moisturiser, shampoo and conditioner were provided in the bathroom.
The only downside, and not a major one, was that the cottage is close to some excellent wineries yet there were only two small and mismatched wine glasses in the kitchen cupboard.
Overall, the cottage was well worth the very reasonable price and we had a relaxing, comfortable stay. We'd have no hesitation in staying again.

Thanks for the review Michelle_Darren. The Long Table is a wonderful restaurant - and so handy to have within 5 minutes walk. Apologies for the mismatched glasses - we had a run on breakages, and have now restocked with both stemmed and stemless wine glasses. Thanks again - Renee

All was cleaned. Bed most comfortable. No views, but walking distance from The Epicurean, where the wedding was.
It would have been ideal to have a greater variety for breakfast and a lot more condiments. Possum keeping you up all night, which is difficult to control. 3.5 stars for me.

Bubbles in the spa and local Pinot in front of the gas open fire... relaxing does not get much better than that! Very cosy cottage in a great location central to all the Mornington Peninsula attractions and walking distance to Red Hill village centre.

After arriving and exploring, we made a point of walking (not driving) down to investigate the local cluster of shops and restaurants (not a long walk), then took a walk down a bridle (horse) path which took us for a good hour or so return trip into the country. We were very happy to have a cold drink and snack at the local restaurants when we returned! The property was a comfortable place for a relaxed night's accommodation, although there were few places to relax with a book other than the bed. The kitchenette and fridge worked for our needs however. And there is now a screen for the bathroom so concerns raised in earlier reviews are resolved.
