Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI
BIG4 Ingenia Holidays Queenscliff Beacon receives mixed reviews, with its picturesque location on the Bellarine Peninsula being a highlight for many guests, offering convenience and scenic walks. While some guests commend the hotel for its cleanliness and spacious rooms, others have pointed out inconsistencies in room quality and the need for updates.
Opinions on service and amenities vary, with accolades for friendly staff and satisfactory facilities but also reports of unprofessional conduct and dated features. The value for money is a concern for several travelers, who feel the costs outweigh the benefits provided.

Detailed Reviews
Customer service was excellent, there was a visible level of careful and additional cleaning, hand sanitiser available throughout the park, as many facilities as possible are open for families to make use of as well.
The accommodation is fairly new and easy to turn up without bringing alot with you, plenty of dishes, cutlery and everything you need including a cooktop, stove, microwave and dishwasher.
The heater kept the room nice and warm and the beds were comfortable.
We had a great weekend away with our 3 kids and will definitely be back.

Excellent clean modern facilities, hired a 3 bedroom cabin for 2 adults and 5 kids (3 boys around 8/9, and 2 x12 yr old girls), an had plenty of space. Kids went straight into the indoor pool (a little cool, but heated) and spa (nice & hot). Kids safely rode their scooters around, and enjoyed kids club each morning at 9am. I did the free yoga class, and felt very relaxed. Each bedroom had its own tv, and had 2 bathrooms, so no fighting. kids also had a go at the giant sized chess board and jumping pillow. We walked to the beautiful sunday local market with homemade goodies and fresh food. Kids loved the rock pools in pt lonsdale. and ice cream in ocean grove, both only 2-5 min away in the car. Overall very relaxing holiday, sipping prosecco on the decking while cooking a bbq! will be back.

Wow Fiona, what an amazing review that perfectly sums up your Beacon experiene! It's wonderful to hear your children had such a great time making friends at the free kids activities, swimming in the indoor pool (happy kids = happy parents!). I'm glad you enjoyed our free Yoga class, we offer 11 free classes a week and they certainly do leave you feeling relaxed and restored plus finishing off the day with a prosecco on the deck sounds divine...what a holiday! We look forward to seeing you back again next year. Warm regards, Emme

We stayed in villa B18, a 2-bedroom 2-bathroom fairly new villa right next door to the gas fire pit, over-sized chess game and sitting/lounging area.
There are daily organised activities for the kids @ 0900 (too early for our grandies). Ball pit, jumping pillow, go karts fore hire, indoor heated pool/spa and a myriad of other benefits.
The kids all look out for each other and happily make new friends. The beach of over the road too.
There’s caravan sites, cabins and the quite new villas that we were lucky enough to stay in too.
Bring scooters and bikes and the kids will have a ball!!
There’s really decent organic coffee as well which is a fabulous bonus for frazzled grandparents haha!!
All in all a fabulous resort. We will be back.

Thank you so much, Deb, for your wonderful review. Sounds like you and the grandkids had a fabulous getaway. Our Two Bedroom Villas certainly are brand new and are very popular with families and couples a like, with all the mod-cons and little extras (the gas log fire is a big favourite!). Glad to hear your grandchildren took advantage of all the resort facilities and kept busy - that certainly makes it easier for you to relax with your coffee (hopefully you were able to take advantage of the delivery service!). We look forward to welcoming you all back again soon. Warm regards, Emme

The rooms were clean, warm and had everything that you needed. We requested a room close to the park or jumping pillow and we got one right next to the jumping pillow which was great. The staff are lovely and friendly and always polite.
I’m sure it’ll be better once the restrictions are lifted and the inside play area and kids club are open, but i really didn’t feel like we got value for money here. A few small things spoiled it for me.
They only have one go kart that seats 2 people (so an adult and small child can use it together) Bit of a struggle when you’ve got 2 little ones who cant reach the pedals. The gas fireplace is temperamental and didn’t always work.
The coffee isn’t great.
The heated pool was cold, and the floor of the shallow pool where i sat whilst the little ones were ‘swimming’ is a rough concrete /pebble-dash finish so ruined my swimmers.
Friends of ours scored a weekend in the school holidays for $191 a night on booking.com, we paid $236 for queens birthday weekend direct with them so definitely check third party booking sites for deals as I didn’t see this deal when i looked on their site, and i searched school holiday dates first.
We’ve only stayed at the Bellarine Big4 before, and much preferred it. It is more spacious, the play park is bigger and has more equipment. I remember the pool being warmer as the kids lips didn’t turn blue, and they have multiple double go karts too.

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback - it's wonderful to hear you found our team so helpful but I'm very sorry to hear you won't be returning. As you're aware, it's been a super-tough time for small businesses with the COVID-19 restrictions and, unfortunately, the closure of our facilities has been out of our control. We do have four go-karts for guest use so I do apologise you weren't made aware of this during your stay. Our guests usually rave about our coffee and our team are all barista-trained so, please rest assured, I will be following this up with the team and ensuring all of our coffees are up to scratch (we might even have to taste test a few!). As far as the price differences with your friends, we have several different accommodation styles available, which all vary in price, depending on the dates. The price of $191 is based on our standard cabin range and is based on two people, rather than a family in the premium range of accommodation such as your booking. Booking direct is definitely the way to go, as we offer direct bookings special deals and savings that you won't find on other third party websites. Again thank you for your feedback and I wish you all the best with your future travels. Warm regards, Emme (Guest Experience Manager)

There were a full-sized gym, indoor swimming pool and yoga classes in the fitness room on the premises. The 2 bedroom apartment was very spacious with two bathrooms/toilets. There were also kettles and cups in the bedrooms and even a dishwasher in the kitchenette. The rooms are quiet and clean. It was a most enjoyable stay. We felt quite spoiled.

Best part of the park is that the kids were able to scooter around together. The gym had everything you’d need also.
Otherwise it was a little below expectations, furnishings were tired and carpet felt pretty worn in our villa. Would have been nice to have been provided with a stick vacuum cleaner for the amount that we paid to stay in a villa, given it was a 5 night minimum stay.

This is a great park if your traveling with a family. The cater really well to the primary school age and younger, with their daily kids club and play room area. But saying this, the park is very over priced. We had no choice and was forced to pay for a minimum 6 nights camping site, when we were only staying 5, knowing it’s a public holiday and peak time. Every time I asked about this, was told it’s out of their hands and a decision make by upper management. Never heard of such a large amount of days, for a minimum stay.
They stay on site we’re nice and friendly, even more the kids club staff.
But for the price you pay to stay, it’s not worth what is up for offer. Sorry would not be visiting again. Would rather go up the road to other big 4 park.

If you’re camping in a tent, make sure you aren’t designated one of the artificial turn camp sites. Top of the range pegs from a camping store could not make it into the rock that lay underneath. 9 thick legs bent and pegs that came with the tent wouldn’t even break the artificial turf.
Camper trailer on the next site had the same issues and had to connect awning to his vehicle. I’ve had an easier time pegging a tent down in central Australia.
When providing feedback upon check out, we were rudely told we should have complained on arrival and bought their site specific pegs upon check in… pretty unacceptable for $110 a night to camp.
The same receptionist gave my wife a serving for entering the open doors at reception at 8:56am, when they “open at 9 as it states on the glass”… to rent a bike and sign kids up for some activities.
Some of the worst customer service I’ve come across at a camp ground.
If you’re staying in a cabin, you’ll find the amenities and camp ground nice and clean… but if you’re camping… bring a drill.

Hi George,
Checkout is 10am for accommodation and 11am for caravan and camping sites. Later checkouts are available to be booked for an additional charge, subject to availability.
Once you check out, you are welcome to remain in the park and continue to use the facilities for the day.
Warm regards,
Emme (Guest Experience Manager @ BIG4 Beacon Resort)
The cabins are very well equipped and supply most utensils that you need to cook. Just like a home. Enjoy your stay in Aus.
Hi Jen, all of our accommodation has its own bathroom facilities (some even have two bathrooms) so there is no need to share. Caravan and camping sites do share communal amenities but there is the option of ensuite caravan sites as well. I hope this helps with your planning. Warm regards, Emme (Guest Relations)
Hi. It would probably take about 10 minutes to stroll to the Point Lonsdale shops for coffee, fish & chips, the restaurant as well as the grocery store. It's a scenic walk and enjoyable especially with company. Remember that there is a modest cafe on site with outdoor seating, no cakes and slices, but real coffee & ice cream! Enjoy!!
