Great steak and other all meals delicious. Owner/Manager very obliging and accomodating. Shows you don’t have to have a haughty front of house person as a requirement to be considered up market. Very knowledgeable owner. By far the best meal on the Southern Peninsula. Go here as often as I can. Be sure to check booking they do a lot of private stuff.

Stayed for 2 nights, overall a pleasant stay. Used the outdoor pool and spa which were lovely. Apartment was comfortable, large and kitchen was well equiped. The room we had was near the restaurant so there is a bit of noise, especially on the Friday night.

A mini refreshing break to celebrate the end of lockdown and to support local business at Portsea Village resort wasn't quite what we were expecting. We thought we would spoil ourselves with a 'five-star' experience. and so thought it worth the price tag. To cut a long story short we walked into an acrimonious split between management at the resort. First, we inadvertently booked with the group who met you at the door with the keys, not at reception as would normally take place. Strange we thought. I asked the receptionist for maps or local knowledge on walks but was told to google them. Rude I thought. The room was very outdated and dirty and was not up to the expected standard of a resort with a 5-star price tag. Couldn't get a change of room. Windows were dirty along with thick dirt on the sills. The couch was old, dirty, and faded. Outside couches were deeply stained. Only 1 bar stool in the apartment. We had to clean the chairs and table on one of the balconies before we could sit down. Day 2 There was a blocked sink in the apartment. in which we plunged with our hand to release the water and it wasn't pleasant with what we bought up in the sink so I went to reception to have this fixed and they gave me another number to call. After talking to the manager that I was told to call to their credit they had a plumber come and fix the sink. They 'sent' someone to clean while we were out. NO change. Next, if I wanted to use the pool and a towel it would cost me $25 dollars for the towel because we booked with the dark side it seems. I contacted the apartment's office management who work offsite and discussed the room dissatisfaction and low level of service and the embarrassing moments of being shunned by the resort's reception as we were from 'that' room so they couldn't help us. They told me they wouldn't let it slide and would get back to me. NO contact from that point. So best to ask when booking who is going to be looking after you. Maybe the management that provides free pool towels. Reception pointed to the booking site for next time. There will be NO next time as their open conflict is toxic and their disregard for guests was flagrant from both parties. NOBODY wins. STAY AWAY!

Overall it was a good stay. The room was as described, the facilities (gym, pool etc) were great however we were in one of the 3 apartments in the resort that have been held onto by the previous owners. I was unaware of this when booking but it made us feel a little bit like outsiders on our trip. The lady had to meet me with the key, at a pre arranged time, which was abit odd that I couldn’t check in like usual at the reception anytime between the hours of 2PM & 6PM. Due to this we also weren’t allowed certain services from the resort - we weren’t allowed to use pool towels provided, and we did not receive the advertised apartment cleaning, which for a 5 day stay we really needed fresh towels and our bins emptied! We also didn’t get the advertised foxtel in our room. I had to ask for the wifi password, which at reception the lady manning the desk I don’t think realized which room I was from and looked at me strangely like it’s on your key card, but it wasn’t as we had a different type of key. In the scheme of things these aren’t huge deals but it was just strange and made us feel abit uncomfortable during our stay.

A very clean and not so dated set of apartments with a nice indoor and outdoor pool. Just a bit unfortunate that during the week the in house restaurant was not open. The staff on site were kind friendly and knowledgeable.

Beautiful accommodation and everything you need at your finger tips. Staff were friendly and helpful. Spa, pool and gym were lovely. Accommodation is clean and full kitchen and laundry allowed us to have the flexibility to cook if we wanted.

well priced - resort is a bit dated, but well appointed and friendly. Generous apartment sizes, well located. The restaurant was exceptional - great food, locally sourced, well explained, and good wines to go with it. Simon the host was authoritative and relaxed; great environment.

Stayed overnight recently but would not recommend for the price paid. Apartment was spacious and room enough to enjoy different areas and views which were lovely, but .... windows and blinds are in need of upgrades very shabby for the price you pay, a coat of paint would do wonders and flywire in bedroom was ripped in one corner. So a maintenance issue. During the night a constant drip drip outside the window in the bedroom kept us awake we thought it was rain drops dripping down from above floor, however we think it was just from an airconditioning unit, also when opening the cupboard door under the sink in the kitchen, which has the rubbish bin attached, it was all dirty on the door so obviously attention to detail in this area needs to be monitored. Also no exhaust fan in the bathroom so constantly steamy. Overall for the price it is not up to standard. We were excited there was a restaurant onsite but disappointed as it is tired and shabby, not what you would expect for a resort like this, however the staff were very obliging (if not forgetful) with some meals and accompaniments. But due to lack of available staff they’re under pressure. Great wine selection with good recommendations and knowledge. Overall we liked our stay but at this price unless they do some upgrades and renovations to the accommodation and restaurant, we will not return as there are so many other great places we could spend our money at.

We had the most relaxing and delicious lunch with our friends in the hotel restaurant today. The outdoor area, right by the pool area and looking out to the tropical gardens was such a lovely place to sit, eat, drink and relax. The fact you don't have to be staying at the hotel, to enjoy the resort vibe - and you can step away from the crowds on a busy summer weekend arvo (when everywhere else is packed) to this little oasis - was so nice. The food was genuinely delicious - good menu with some great specials. The slow cooked lamb shoulder was tender, falling off the bone...full of flavour and the salmon special was super fresh, cooked perfectly and served with a really tasty pea and wasabi puree. Tried 2 great white wines - both recommended by the server, which we loved and took note of. The kids all loved their cheeseburgers...and everything was served quickly by friendly, knowledgeable staff. I would totally recommend anyone staying nearby or coming down on a day trip to book in for a lazy lunch (or dinner) - it's a winner.
