We came for a weekend and decided to eat at the in house restaurant. This is essentially a conference centre. The restaurant host Adam was very friendly and attentive. The decor was simple and clean. The food was good. We had the salmon laksa which was well presented and tasty with a bit of spice. We also had the beef bourguignon with chats and steamed vegetables. The meals were well presented, tasty and a good size. The wine list was basic with three whites, three reds and sparkling as an option. We had the McLaren Vale Shiraz which was okay. They probably need a fourth option which is perhaps next level up. We later saw that they had a collection of Italian and French wines against the wall which you could choose if you had the time to go through them all. Two main courses with a vegetable side and a glass of red wine each $75. It’s located across the road from the beach at Portsea.

Hi Alex, Thank you for choosing Portsea Village Resort for your weekend escape. This was the first weekend our restaurant was open after being closed for 3 months. There was a bit of uncertainty as to how this would be received which makes it quite challenging to prepare for, however we are grateful to all those who dined with us, including yourself. We are more of a resort for couples and families for a getaway, however we do host conferences as well. Thank you for taking the time to write your review, we appreciate your comments and are glad you enjoyed your stay. We hope to see you back again soon.

We stayed in a 2nd floor apartment it was bigger than we thought. The overall room presentation was excellent, rooms were large, clean, and ample towels. The pool and surrounds were excellent. The beds were comfy we had a beautiful view of the pool area from balcony. The continental breakfast was not continental it did not have any cooked goods to add things like bacon and eggs was a extra $12. Another negative was each morning our entire kitchen bench and floor was full of ants.

Hello, thank you for taking the time to write your review. We are pleased that you enjoyed your apartment and hope you made use of all the facilities. The continental breakfast we provide includes cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurt, pastries, colds meats & cheeses, a variety of breads and much more. Traditionally continental breakfasts do not include cooked food. We apologise that you had a problem with ants. Living in a rural setting makes it difficult to control this sort of problem, however we do have a regular pest control company service our venue. We do hope that you will come back and visit us again in the future.

Beautiful accommodation and everything you need at your finger tips. Staff were friendly and helpful. Spa, pool and gym were lovely.
Accommodation is clean and full kitchen and laundry allowed us to have the flexibility to cook if we wanted.

Booked via a red balloon gift voucher with peninsula hot springs, accommodation and dinner included. Hot springs was sensational. We found the accommodation was average, room was NOT clean with someone’s long black hair in bathroom and on the floor of bedroom. Dining table scorched, dirty marks on walls and microwave was child locked !! Service in Restaurant excellent but the quality of food was disappointing. Two items from the limited menu were not available, only one serve of another left. ordered slow cooked lamb shoulder which was served with nothing at all, meat on the bone sitting lonely on plate without a thing, and lamb was very fatty and half edible. Steak was presented very well but was inedible due to a very poor quality cut. It was mentioned to Adam who offered a replacement meal from the menu if I wanted it. Given it was a couples dinner, the lamb was poor, the steak was atrocious and there was not a suitable meal replacement available I declined. Adams response when asked if they could take just the two glasses of wine off the bill was “sorry mate, can’t do that- it was just a bad cut of steak” .... well yeah, it was, but it would have gone a long way to making us feel better about the experiences, and I hadn’t even started telling him about the lamb yet. We all have good and bad experiences, ours was poor in this venue and won’t be back but I’m sure others may have a different experience. I think there is better value around the area. Life experiences I guess.

Stayed in room 109A for two nights. The bathroom is very nice (but without a fan) and we had a good big bed and the essential bits of equipment are there.. However, the room was very small with no place to put your suitcases flat; we have stayed in motels at half the cost with far more space than this tiny room. There was only one chair, no table and nowhere to put a laptop. Most of the hanging space for for your clothes was taken up with a large pedestal fan, the reason for that is that there is no, repeat no, air-conditioning in the room. If you need a bit of fresh air you need to open the window but there is no fly-screen. All in all a disappointing experience.

I had the pleasure of being part of a work retreat over the last two days and have to say from the first second I buzzed the car park gate for entry I was impressed. Jenny at reception greeted us each morning with a wonderful welcome, was very informative and knew everything about our visit, which was very helpful indeed.
The rooms we stayed in were clean, so spacious, well equipped and beds were very comfortable.
The facilities were amazing but unfortunately our stay was too busy and short to use them.
Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea during the retreat was wonderful but dinner was amazing!!!! Simon is a master in the kitchen. The calamari salad was superb. I’m not a chef but I am Italian and his porcini mushroom sauce with gnocchi was nothing short of heavenly. Not to mention his chocolate tort!
All of this coupled with the wonderful service from the very obliging and patient staff Adam & Nick.
It really was a wonderful experience and I am going to recommend it to everyone. In fact I’m going to be organising a girls get together myself fairly soon too!
Thank you again everyone at Portsea Village Resort.

Stayed overnight recently but would not recommend for the price paid. Apartment was spacious and room enough to enjoy different areas and views which were lovely, but .... windows and blinds are in need of upgrades very shabby for the price you pay, a coat of paint would do wonders and flywire in bedroom was ripped in one corner. So a maintenance issue. During the night a constant drip drip outside the window in the bedroom kept us awake we thought it was rain drops dripping down from above floor, however we think it was just from an airconditioning unit, also when opening the cupboard door under the sink in the kitchen, which has the rubbish bin attached, it was all dirty on the door so obviously attention to detail in this area needs to be monitored. Also no exhaust fan in the bathroom so constantly steamy. Overall for the price it is not up to standard. We were excited there was a restaurant onsite but disappointed as it is tired and shabby, not what you would expect for a resort like this, however the staff were very obliging (if not forgetful) with some meals and accompaniments. But due to lack of available staff they’re under pressure.
Great wine selection with good recommendations and knowledge.
Overall we liked our stay but at this price unless they do some upgrades and renovations to the accommodation and restaurant, we will not return as there are so many other great places we could spend our money at.

I stayed at the village this week and a group of us had dinner there. The food was simply superb from the hors d’oeuvre to beautifully cooked lamb (slow cooked for 18 hours) and then sweets to round all off. The lunches comprised nice creative and healthy salads as well salmon and chicken etc . The chef clearly take great pride in what he does . Thankyou

Our first visit and stay was just fabulous and we all loved it.The staff was very friendly and welcoming indeed and the resort really cater to all.
Our 3xbedroom apartment was very spacious and can't fault it.My husband and I was so happy with the overall size and it felt very relaxed with 3 young girls having their own space as well.
Our trip was a short one but next time we are staying for a week.Lots of activities to do in Portsea where we took the kids to the Napean Quarantine station for a walk and picnic. You can take your bikes and cycle around or simply walk on the beach picking shells.Sorrento is a 6mins drive with lots of restaurants, beach and shops.
Overall,a great holiday place with no regrets and highly recommend it.

well priced - resort is a bit dated, but well appointed and friendly. Generous apartment sizes, well located. The restaurant was exceptional - great food, locally sourced, well explained, and good wines to go with it. Simon the host was authoritative and relaxed; great environment.
