We stayed for the weekend and really enjoyed the Tranquil location off the Main Highway. We had Kangaroos and Wallabies at our doorstep. The Super Sized Spa in the Six Seasons was wonderful. There was plenty of room and although there were other cottages close by they were far enough apart to have your own privacy and space. The Bacon & Eggs and Real Fresh Ground Coffee was appreciated. The room was well presented and very clean. Thanks for the late checkout! Highly Recommend.
If you’re looking for a secluded, modern(sort of) cottage not too close to Halls Gap, then this might be worth considering. We stayed in one called “Six seasons” and it is about 100m away from another, similar cottage. On approach you might think that the cottage looks a bit suburban (because it does), it’s not really designed to fit into the landscape but that’s not necessarily important to most people. Personally I see it as a wasted opportunity... There is a nice little private, covered, rear deck which looks across a grassed area into trees. This is the ideal space to meet the kangaroos which appear particularly in the early mornings and late afternoons. In good weather this deck would be the place to be. The inside area is huge, with a large kitchen including 2 coffee machines (yes really). There are also 2 spoons, 2 forks, 2 wine glasses....but only one bath robe! The TV is OK once you work out how to turn everything on, (although the free to air channels had no sound), and the wood combustion heater is great. The bed’s comfortable and the spa is quite large. But.....the marble floor tiles are cracked in places, the dining chairs (yes, 2 of them) are very uncomfortable and the layout of the cottage is very odd. A lot of empty space. The back of the TV, and all the cables and such, face directly onto the bed, actually blocking the view to the trees. Note that in the photos it seems to be on a swivel, so the TV could be spun 180 degrees, but it’s been screwed into a fixed position. The problem with this place is that for the price it should be 5 star amazing, but it fails to deliver by getting so many of the little things wrong. Especially considering the location; it’s ok but it’s not terribly convenient, it’s close to the zoo, which is fantastic, but you need to take a 15 minute drive to anywhere else. (Except Red Rock Olives, which is also definitely worth a visit).…
Beautiful surrounds, peaceful, secluded and surrounded by the Aussie bush and kangaroos and wallabies. We stayed in the 6 seasons cottage and it was perfect for us to relax and it had everything we could have wanted or needed. Saku was easy to deal with, very thoughtful and accommodating and she even left us some bacon, eggs, milk, bread and juice for breaky. We will definitely be returning again 😊
100% recommend! The cottages are located close to Halls Gap (definitely not too far to drive for dinner or activities), and the hosts added all the small touches - eggs, bacon, juice, bread, wine, chocolate - just to greet us! A lovely private setting, with large spa bath in the bedroom, and a cosy fireplace. For a private, intimate stay, definitely recommend!
Aurora Cottages was the perfect place for a relaxing bush escape. We stayed in the Six Seasons cottage and the amenities were great: comfy bed, great bathroom with a double shower, full kitchen, entertainment system, air con/fire place and of course the lovely spa! The location was good too, close enough to Hall's Gap and many of the Grampians walks (about 30 minutes drive) but also very secluded. It was very hot when we were there (mid January) so hikes were early in the morning or late, but the cottage was a cool and comfortable place to relax between. Highly recommended.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience over 4 nights. The house is fully equipped for self cooking and relaxation. It is luxurious, comfortable and the welcome package was just right. The residence is only 10 mins from Halls Gap that makes it close without being among everyone else and looking into the next house. There were wallabies in the huge grounds everyday and plenty of birds to look at and listen to.
My partner and I stayed here for my birthday, the house was beautiful and very secluded! The house had a beautiful big spa which was amazing! When we arrived the wood fire was already going so the house was lovely and toasty! We were also greeted by beautiful wildlife surrounding the house! We cannot wait to come back here to escape reality and relax. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
I stayed at the Six Seasons Aurora Cottage during the Easter weekend 2018. The place was lovely, clean and very peaceful. When we arrived we found that the owners had provided us with basic food such as bread, eggs, cereal, OJ, and more, which was great and saved us some money. There was a big soft bed, towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, a big relaxing spa, a couple board games, and a small rage of DVD's to choose from. The best feature was the TV which had Foxtel and It was on a stand which could do a 360 turn to face the direction that you're sitting at. The cottage was very close to the Halls Gap Zoo and just a short drive to the Grampians National Park where there were some local restaurants and stores. In terms of service, the owner was very nice and occasionally responded when they could. They were very understanding and tried to accommodate for us as best as they could. The cottage was a bit pricey, but if you have the money then its definitely worth it. Overall, I was very happy with my stay. This place is great for couples and if you want a nice secluded peaceful place then I definitely recommend the Six Seasons Aurora Cottage!…
My partner and I travelled to Halls Gap for a weekend and stayed in the Luxury Spa Room. The room was clean and in a relaxing environment. Cooking facilities provided should you wish to cook yourself, the fireplace was lovely and the spa in the corner of the bedroom was just a treat.
We spent 2 nights here. The key was supposed to be left under the mat but wasn’t, so when we finally got in contact with someone, we were told to go to the adjacent cottage. The cottage is well designed and appointed but very poorly maintained. It’s such a peaceful location. We thought it was a great shame that it is so rundown. Not worth the money!
