We loved our stay at Mariners Cove Motel & Apartments. Managers Jeanne and Jack, and other staff, were friendly and happy to help with any queries we had.
So good is the location, we barely had to use our car! The main Paynesville shops, pub and restaurants are just around the corner along the town foreshore (which includes a swimmable lake beach), and the Raymond Island ferry is only a five-minute stroll. Parking at the motel is easy with reserved spaces.
Our motel room was comfortable and well-equipped. With its private-ish verandah, the room faced directly onto the Mariners Quay canal which is lined with boats of every description. A row of small jetties on the motel side give easy access to the water, and the motel's grounds are beautifully landscaped and maintained. Suffice to say we spent much of our motel time on the verandah enjoying the view of boats coming and going, the fresh air and the sounds of the local birds.

Our hosts, Jack and Jean, were delightful. The hotel room was spotless and well equipped with a sink and microwave (on request) which was great when not a studio. We had breakfast and snacks each day on our lovely patio fronting onto the canal, which had a peaceful view. It was a three-minute walk to all shops. We will definitely stay again when we next visit Paynesville.

We had the pleasure of staying in a family river view room, and I can't help but express my sincere gratitude for the wonderful experience we had. The accommodation provided was truly fantastic, offering everything a family could possibly need to feel completely at ease during our stay. The rooms were not only beautifully modernized but also tastefully decorated, with lovely views from the patio overlooking the river.

The air conditioner and fan upstairs were excellent and worked brilliantly, maintaining a consistently comfortable environment throughout our stay. The blackout curtains and blinds ensured that we could enjoy peaceful mornings without being disturbed by the bright sun.

The pricing was more than reasonable, and the abundance of food options, coupled with the proximity of an excellent IGA just minutes away, made our dining choices convenient and enjoyable. The information book provided comprehensive details, covering everything we could possibly need to know in extensive detail.

The mattress on the beds and the linen surpassed our expectations, providing a level of comfort that rivalled some 5-star hotels in the city. The shower pressure was delightful, and the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash provided a luxurious experience for our skin, leaving my hair feeling silky smooth.

The strategic placement of power points and the inclusion of dimmable light switches were the finishing touches that truly demonstrated the meticulous thought put into every aspect of our stay. It's evident that the team has considered absolutely everything to ensure a 10/10 experience, and for that, we are sincerely thankful.

We enjoyed our stay at the MC. It is a great value motel with friendly staff and views overlooking the yachts and boats berthed behind.
We had the basic one bedroom and it was clean and we had most of what we needed. They brought us a microwave on request, which we now know can be sorted in advance.
I wasn’t that thrilled we had to park our car away from our room, but for the majority your car is right outside.
The location meant we could walk to everything, including the (free) ferry across the Raymond Island.
We would stay again.

Mariners Cove has had a facelift since we were last here. Looks great. Rooms are spotless and having direct access to a jetty for our boat is an added bonus. Very comfy bed and great location within short walk to the best restaurants in Paynesville.

For a minibreak I was planning to go to Lakes Entrance, but a Men's Shed friend advised me to go to Paynesville instead. Mariners Cove looked like a good place to stay and I wasn't disappointed. Although on my own I was booked into a family unit with extra single+queen beds upstairs and appreciated the airiness of the double height space. Internet worked well and hot water came out of the shower almost instantly (I do so hate dead legs). Best of is the location, room with a back terrace on the water and the Raymond Island ferry just across the road. Friendly welcome at reception was appreciated. Would I stay here again? Yes.

It’s never a nice feeling when your reservation can’t be found and there is a no vacancy sign up. A bumpy start to our Mariners Cove stay which fortunately was eventually sorted. We were allocated a large room with corner spa and views of the marina which was very pleasant. The bed was comfortable and the area quite with the exception of a mouse who decided to rustle through our bags. The presence of a mouse in the room put an end to my peaceful night sleep and sadly a few days later on Easter Sunday we found evidence that our mouse intruder had also feasted on Easter eggs which we had purchased for gifts and were stashed in our bags .

What a way to finish our south Coast Trip. We had a 1 Bedroom apartment looking out onto the marina. The apartment was clean and comfortable and the reason for not giving full marks was that the bedroom was on the upper floor with a combination bathroom and laundry on the bottom floor, not good for those needing to visit the loo at night.

Lovely stop over in Paynesville. Room was tidy, clean and reasonably priced. Service at check in was great and the location is very good and close to all that Paynesville has to offer. Seating along the jetty strip was also a great touch.

We stayed here one night to break the trip to Melbourne and to enjoy the Paynesville Music Festival and was lucky enough to get a room here. Spacious, spotlessly clean with views over the water and moored boats behind.
The staff were exceptionally friendly on check-in and the proximity to the Raymond Island ferry, main street and 3880 Restaurant was excellent.
A really excellent motel apartment.
