We have two properties in the picturesque Olinda village. One with our romantic cottages for couples and the other for families and groups. We can sleep 22 ppl so it's also perfect for wedding groups and close to lots of the wedding venues up here. The cottage gardens are fern filled and established, luscious wonderlands, a different world to the city and suburbs. Each cottage is self-contained and private and has outdoor decks/balconies as well has well appointed interiors. Open fires, spas and baths add to the experience. We are walking distance (500m) to the boutique shops, cafes and restaurants - so many to choose from too. The Yarra Valley and wineries are a hop, skip and a jump (in the car) or you can get a private tour from here. Whether you're planning a romantic getaway or a family break, we can help you plan your trip. Our day spa ellenaturaleolinda is also just a short stroll away.

The cottage had everything we needed . It was warm and wonderful each day , within a lovely garden setting and just a walk to the pretty little town or to the old English pub or to the many forest walks . The hosts were great , very kind and helpful . Our grandkids loved the big spa bath and sitting in front of the big fireplace . Can’t wait to return.

We loved the antique look of everything and admire the skill needed to make The Mills cottage look so great and still be functional. Breakfast was provided by having bread, eggs, sliced meat, cereals, jams, musli, milk, juice and yogurt stocked in the kitchen and fridge. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils for preparing breakfast. The fact that the stove is old and lovely, just made us want to use it for nothing other than the experience with it. Smoking is allowed outside where ashtrays are provided. The heater worked well and the water was very hot. Be careful or you may scorch yourself when washing. We tried several times and many different ways but we were never able to contact the hosts, neither on arrival nor upon leaving. We don’t know if it was our US phone not being able to dial, but we got different messages each time. The red phone in the courtyard didn’t work. The nearby town is lovely.

We stayed 2 nights in the Lavender Cottage. An amazing hills experience. The cottage is perfectly located to feel very private, but also literally only a minutes walk to all the main street has to offer. I was delighted with Lavender Cottage from the moment I drove into the driveway. A gorgeous private garden with plenty of character surrounds the front of the property. Walking up to the front door, you can feel all your worries start to leave you and upon opening the door, you are immediately swept back to a time with less daily pressures. The entire cottage is filled with olde worlde charm from the open fireplace, the original 1930’s Metters gas stove, the timber details and the 1920’s hot water system in the bathroom. The kitchen has a microwave, large fridge, toaster, kettle, gas stove, oven and plenty of basic cooking items. The breakfast provisions were fantastic and included fresh sliced bread, bacon, eggs, tomatoes, baked beans, juice, a variety of cereals & muesli. There was also plenty of tea and coffee too. The fire is ready to start with a cute bundle of newspaper containing firelighters & kindling. There was a great amount of fire wood provided and the wood is topped up everyday in the outside basket for that night. There are 2 bedrooms in this cottage. One downstairs off the kitchen with a desk & double bed and a large one upstairs with a queen sized bed. The bathroom is also located upstairs as an ensuite and has a big 2 person corner spa bath. Bubble bath is also provided. Off the upstairs bedroom is a small deck with a table & chairs. Perfect for a cuppa or glass of wine. This deck overlooks the garden. We spent our entire stay just loving this cottage. It just feels so homey and comfortable and was exactly the type of rest we needed. Melinda, the owner, was great with communication and answered any questions we had. I also recommend booking a couples massage at Elle Naturale in main street. This really added to our overall goal of relaxation. Como Cottages provide an experience, not just accommodation. We will definitely be back!

My partner and I enjoyed an extended long weekend staying in the Como Cottage. Location was great, walking distance to food and shopping, and only a short day trip into the Yarra Valley. We were disappointed that we couldn’t use the fireplace as by March the evenings were starting to cool down and it would’ve added a nice atmosphere to our nights in. The cottage was clean and very comfortable, a nice range of breakfast items were included, but not quite enough for our entire stay. Thank you.

We stayed for 2 nights in The Forget Me Not Cottage. Amazing place with all the facilities you could want. A beautiful breakfast was supplied and bubbles for the claw bath. A cosy conservatory to relax in. In walking distance to shops.

I went to Como Cottages for a short visit and ended up staying for three months! The guys here a extremely welcoming. Brett, Melinda, and Sarah laid on 5***** hospitality. I stayed in Caretakers Cottage and then Garden Cottage, both cottages are extremely comfortable, with everything you could possibly need for your stay. They also provide a lot of extras, breakfast, fresh eggs, butter, spreads, fresh milk and bread, plus lots more. The Garden Cottage was amazing, extra large rolltop bath, open fire for cold evenings, and an amazing deck overlooking the fantastic gardens, and still remains private. The supermarket is super close, with a bottleshop, and some cute cafe's and restaurants within a short walk. There are some beautiful walks all around Olinda, Mathias trail and the Botanical Gardens were my favourites. I would highly++ recommend Como Cottages for a long or short stay. Como Cottages are only a easy 40 minute drive from Melbourne city, and I'll be back there very soon for my next break. Thank you Brett, Melinda and Sarah for my best holiday ever!

Como Cottages are absolutely mountain bliss for a romantic couples retreat away from our day to day work lives. My husband & I have stayed on three occasions over the last few years at The Caretakers Cottage, The Lavender Cottage & most recently The Cottswood Cottage. Brett & Melinda’s attention to detail makes your stay heartfelt & special. The care they take in providing a cosy & romantic environment is compared to none other! They give you the secluded space to escape from the realities of life, whilst always making sure you have the things you need to have an amazing holiday; E.g. Refilling your wood outside your cottage each morning for the cosy fires & providing incredible breakfast options for your stay with them. But don’t fear, there is absolutely no intrusion during your trip away, as all those things are magically there when you need them & they don’t interfere with your personal space. Their attention to detail regarding the delicate historical items around the cottages make your stay even more special & having respect for this when you stay with them is just a given. Thank you for our stay & rest assured we will be back again when we need a restful break from life in a magical place!

Convenient for walking to shops and restaurants, easy access for hiking. Lots of little knickknacks in cottage. Great shower. Internet very slow to nonexistent. Between two roads, heard road noise overnight but not extreme. Well stocked fridge with brekkie items. Cottage needs some repairs/updating (see photo)

Thank you for the feedback. We are always updating and repairing, so we will note your concern. The cottages are very centrally located, which does mean you can hear some cars on the road and It's great to be able to stroll to the shops.

Took my girlfriend away to the Mills Cottage for her birthday and I couldn’t of asked for more. Beautiful setting, log fire, spa bath (which we went most of our time over the weekend in) beautiful little balcony where we ate breakfast each morning and a fantastic little pub in the village down the road. Features of the cottage were perfect, the drive up Mount Dandenong was so relaxing and there’s heeps of things to see there. 10/10 would recommend and will be back

I never write reviews but I loved this place! Gorgeous location, lovely hosts, and the cottage was absolutely stunning. Not overly fancy or large, but rustic, warm, sophisticated and just a lovely environment! Would definitely recommend!
