Detailed Reviews
What a great experience , from the booking process to the amazing accommodation and friendly management at Lochiel
Alan was extremely accommodating, the weather was cold and wet, so for our arrival they had lit the fire and ensured the cottage was warm and welcoming.
Their local knowledge was greatly appreciated with a wonderful referral to Olinda Cellars just a slight stroll across the street for some local Yarra Valley wine for our stay.
We will be back !!

Stayed at Lochiel luxury accomodation with my wife for a little getaway on the weekend and absolutely loved it!!! Highly recommend, everything was spotlessly clean and comfortable, a great place to stay for a romantic getaway.
We received a couple of vouchers for the restaurant Ranges in Olinda and the food was amazing.
Thanks for a great weekend and will definitely be back!!!

Nice place. Not much else to say really. Spa was relaxing, very cosy cabin, waking up looking at lush rainforest was great. The only downside is the road 50m away which can sometimes interrupt those tranquil moments. Otherwise great little getaway place.

Don't think twice about booking here.
From the moment of booking to check out, the staff at Lochiel ensured our stay was beautiful. For a romantic getaway, this is the place to go. Waking up in the rooftops of the rainforest in a luxury treetop cottage was perfect for a weekend away. The views are breath taking! Thank you Jonathan

Four ladies In their 60's stayed here for long weekend away. We had asked for four bedrooms but one was closed off when we arrived but soon sorted by Jonathan once we called him. Unfortunately it was damp and musty because it had been closed up. We did however make the best of it. We were staying in Lochiel original cottage which is in amongst the trees and the kookaburras come down to the trees near the balcony. We had a lovely outdoor spa and the house is well equipped. All three bedrooms upstairs were lovely and we had two bathrooms. We did leave Jonathan with a few tips for future fixes. All in all it is in a lovely location and we enjoyed out visit.

We stayed here for the night after our wedding and were just blown away by how gorgeous it is. We received a beautiful, friendly welcome from Jonathan who was just so accommodating- the service was impeccable. The cottage was so tasteful and clean. Everything was just where we needed it. Appreciated the dvd's and the surround sound. The view from the balconies was breathtaking and hearing the bird calls was a lovely way to wake up. The spa bath was huge adlnd comfortable and the shower was bliss. The bed was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone.

We rang Lochiel for an impromptu booking Saturday afternoon and were thrilled when they had had a cancellation. We were told the "cottage" would have a corner spa and also a spa on the deck and we could have it at a reduced rate of $390 because of the cancellation. We were very excited to be staying here, having seen it going through Olinda numerous times when we stayed at other properties.
When we got there we were not given a cottage at the Lochiel property, we were given a HOUSE on the other side of Olinda at another property - what I believe now to be Credo Cottages (3). We were not told that we would be staying in this house at any time during out phone conversation and we were led to believe we would be staying at Lochiel. Needless to say when we arrived at Lochiel and couldnt find our accomodation (we were told the key and name would be on the door), we rang the gentleman back and were told that our accomodation was indeed not at Lochiel at all in the small romantic cottages, but we were to go to the other side of Olinda and our accommodation would be there. I didnt think much of this until we arrived. I was VERY disappointed to see that we were mislead into what we had paid for. It was NOT the small romatic cottage we had hoped for but a house on the other side of the township.
The house was ok for a family, large and clean. But it was not the 5 star property we had been led to believe we would be getting. We were given vouchers for breakfast for two people for $30.
Very disappointing. We rang the gentleman back who was polite enough but he seemed more concerned as to whether or not we would be staying so he could relet the property to another couple. We have asked for a refund given that we were mislead and we were told he would need to "ask the owner". This was yesterday and we have not heard anything since then. $390 was debitted to my credit card.
So if you are thinking about booking at this property make sure your getting what you paid for and ask lots of questions to make sure they are not just taking your money for you to end up a big disappointment.
We left and went home. Lesson learned.
The only reason I gave it two stars and not one is that the HOUSE is decent enough, clean and had a nice kitchen. It was maybe a 2-3 star property.

Response from LochielOwner, Manager at Lochiel Luxury Accommodation
Responded 21 Feb 2016
Thank you for your feedback, this review does not relate in any way to Lochiel Accommodation Property and is unfair to be posted. When the guest called to book we advised that Lochiel was fully booked and we did have our Larger alternative Premium Cottage, Credo 3 with the Outdoor Hot Tub, large spa bathroom and open fire place. The customer was advised that we had an alternative option which is 4 star property and is one of the few properties in the Dandenong Ranges that has its own Outdoor Spa and that back’s down to the National Forest . Over the weekends we do run fully booked and once booked we had turned away other parties and offered to re advertise and try to rebook the cottage in order to offer a voucher as per our terms and conditions. As per any hotel we do have a cancellation policy in place and this is standard procedure. Credo 3 Cottage normally has a 2 night minimum stay and we even made an exception for a Single Night Stay for the guests. We do have a can do attitude and if we did have alternative options available we would happily move the guests. The gentleman was very happy with the cottage but his wife was quite rude and was simply unhappy and seemed like there was a lot of tension between both parties, unfortunately we cannot be responsible for personal issues. Thank you once again for your feedback and were unable to book the cottage again at such late notice.

Sorry for the delay. We stayed in the big white house which overlooks the forest and has a private patio with a spa. I'm not sure about the smaller cottages.
