We have just arrived home from a 2 night stay in the treetop cottages for our 10 year wedding anniversary & a kid free few days. It was perfect- the cottage is brilliant- clean, modern, well equipped, and different to anywhere we've ever stayed. Never have we woken up to such a lovely view. We loved the bush setting & the private balconies. The spa was awesome and the multilevel layout was really quirky. It was great being able to walk to town and the breakfast & Ranges Restaurant discounts were really enjoyed. Great food for breakfast & dinner. We'll definitely be back- now trying to think of another 'excuse' for us to visit, we'd love to return in winter & make use of the woodfire. Thanks so much for offering such a great place to stay.

I recently booked the Treetop accommodation for my parents on their anniversary having stayed their myself. Once again, fantastic accommodation, sensational spa bath, and all amenities were provided in the highest standard, which my parents were more than happy to rave about upon return. Cleanliness, attention to detail and the overall helpful nature of the staff also contributed to their overall positive experience. Fantastic location, fantastic property, and excellent value. Will be recommending this in the highest regards.

Very accommodating and picturesque views. Very cool place to stay, the tri-level treetops is a must stay. Only downside is that there are no blinds to cover the sun from waking you early! The spa is a must experience, food vouchers go down a treat too!

We stayed for three nights at Treetops and found it very comfortable, relaxing and warm The breakfast vouchers each morning were much appreciated also the discount dinner voucher at Ranges. It was our 44th wedding anniversary and we were delighted to find a lovely bottle of Champagne in the fridge. We plan to return again very soon. To all the people that gave this delightful cottage a negative review, YOU must be so hard to please, and are obviously unhappy with your life.

I stayed at the original cottage with my now husband a few years ago - I always told him I wanted to stay there & one night he made it happen last minute & that was the night he proposed! I grew up in Olinda so know the area already but loved the look of the cottage - the kitchen is a great size & the ensuite had a nice charm to it! It's close to all the nice restaurants & anything else you could need up there. It's definitely a romantic place - beautifully surrounded by the forest making it look magical - fits in perfectly! Plan on coming back for our 5 year anniversary.

We have just returned from a beautiful weekend away at Lochiel original cottage, a fantastic location within walking distance of all that Olinda has to offer. The breakfast vouchers were a lovely idea and the staff at Rangers were more than lovely. The cottage its self was beautiful, with lots of windows looking outside this gave the cottage a lovely feeling. However just a couple of small THINGS!! The ensuite shower has little to no appropriate drainage and wets the entire floor, the outside spa took until the day we left to actually heat due to a terribly busted spa lid with no insulation to keep any heat in and pools with water and I do think that you pay that bit extra for the added luxury it should be top notch. And also you are to do all your dishes and basically make no…

The photos are lovely, the view from every window magnificent. It is over priced and the living area very very small. The bathroom and in fact the whole lodge needed a scrub, removing cobwebs from windows etc. toiletries were not name brand which was disappointing for the room fee, nothing was included as a 'extra' which again, for the price was disappointing - having to do your own dishes and cleaning of the kitchen unless you wanted to be charged an additional room fee really added to the feeling that this was not a luxury lodge and we would have been better off renting a home on stayz.

Thank you for taking the time to add your review. We are glad you enjoyed the magnificent view from our one of a kind Treetops Property; our property is unique and our pricing is in line with other unique properties in the Dandenong Ranges. The Treetops Cottages are stand-alone cottages with a living space that is generous, and perfect for a couple. For those who require more room for more people we recommend booking one of our larger cottages. Although you may not be familiar with our brand of our toiletries, Pure Essence, I can assure you that they are of exceptional quality containing no Parabens or Mineral oils and are dermatologically tested and used by Marriot Hotels worldwide. Being situated in the breathtaking rainforest setting the few cobwebs that collect on the outside of the building present a constant challenge for us as we have a no chemical policy, and although we regularly sweep them away it is part of the Dandenong Ranges living experience. We are shocked and dismayed by your suggestion that the bathroom needs a ‘good scrub’ as we pride ourselves on our high standard of cleanliness throughout our various properties which the overwhelming positive feedback from our guests attests to. We are not sure what you mean by ‘extras’ as you have not elaborated and so we are unable to respond to this; however you booked and paid for a stay in our lovely Treetops cottage with breakfast at Ranges Café, which we included in your tariff as well as a discount voucher for lunch or dinner. Clearly we have not met your expectations and that is always of a concern to us as we work very hard to maintain our exceptional level of guest satisfaction that is obvious in the amount of return guests we have.

Booked a Cabin/Tree house for a Romantic Midweek Getaway, Set amongst all these Beautiful Trees and Autumn colours. We Drove in and were very pleased with what we saw, firewood and kilning out front... heaters were on inside, and fire ready to be lit Cosy. The views of the trees was amazing and so relaxing. We had concerns regarding the road being so close, but turned out not to be a problem very tranquil and quiet. Was very tidy and had everything provided that I requested. We were also given Vouchers for Rangers for Dinner and 2 Breakfasts. So loved the food we had Dinner there both night's and If you love your Steak the Eye Fillet is to die for. If you think you have paid $395 a night and expect something luxurious, then get ready for a surprise. The tree cottage (cottage # 1) we stayed at is overall very nice and spacious but it doesn't make you leave with a feeling that you got what you paid for. Here's some pros and cons: Pros - beautiful view from the bedroom and living area - barely an hour drive from Melbourne - spacious and construction felt new - $30 breakfast was worth it and the cafe served good breakfast Cons - the layout somehow doesn't work. It feels like most things are in place just to check the box. Example - TV is located in weird alignment with the couch, you can neither watch the TV from the couch nor can you see the rainforest view, the light switch above the bed was covered by the headboard, salt…

Just spent the night at Lochiel with my gorgeous girlfriend (hello darling) in the tri-level one bedroom cabin. Cannot recommend highly enough. The setting is, for want of a better expression, incredible. If you're looking for a quick getaway that's an only an hour from the city but may as well be in another world, look here. The cabin we stayed in (i think it was treetops #1) was superbly designed, a pleasure to be in, and is fitted out with everything you could desire for a romantic getaway. A big shout-out to the lovely chap from Lochiel, who made sure we were comfortable and helped us out with some excellent hand-drawn maps for little-known local spots of interest and lookouts the morning after. A word for Michelle G - if you're getting away to watch current release…
