We stayed in the main cottage for the weekend and to be honest the building is lovely but has been poorly looked after, the outdoor areas needed a really good clean , the garden was overgrown and we looked onto blackberry bushes. The inside was spotless but run down. Lights didn’t work and a lot of dodgy patch jobs. It has soooooo much potential, I hope in the future it can be fixed up and brought back to its former glory.

It's got a great view, very secluded and private but it needs a renovation. There are broken tiles in the bathroom covered by a mat, the shower door didn't close properly, missing champagne glass so only one was available, some lightbulbs have been burnt out, horrible soaps that just dry your skin out and some towels are stained. Besides those details it's very cosy, nice getaway but for the price it should be better quality.

I booked the Treetops 3 for my partner's birthday gift and we loved our stay. I was a little worried driving down the drive way because the cottages looked a little run down, but when we opened the door to our cottage we were put completely at ease. This cottage was spacious, clean and modern and each of the 3 floors were delightful. The bathroom supplied really cool looking shampoo/conditioner/body lotion bottles and plenty of clean, fresh and fluffy towels. The spa was huge and worked wonderfully. The bedroom is surrounded by windows overlooking the forest which is beautiful and had a well-sized balcony. The downstairs/living room area had a lovely fireplace and they supplied plenty of firewood which kept it running for hours. Only a few negatives about this place which

We wanted to book somewhere very nice and luxurious to take our friends away to say thank you for them helping us in the past. We thought Lochiel “Original Cottage” Luxury Accommodation sounded perfect. How wrong we were! Our heart sank when we turned onto the property to see a derelict old car by the side of the old and dirty house. It proceeded to get worse from there on. Firstly, we were presented with a front entrance where the screen door was hanging open, broken, then inside we were affronted with wet floors, which was of concern to a member of our party who has MS, shabby and marked furniture, dirty and broken curtains, no WIFI, a toilet that kept running unless the water inlet tap was turned off, dangerously scolding hot water, mould on the shower floor tiles, leaking

We stayed in the "treetops cottage" number 3, it was so lovely! The heaters were on for us when we arrived, the cottage was so clean and neat. It had everything we needed! It's in a great position, so close to everything yet you feel like you're in your own private forest! Can't wait to go back again, we'll be staying more than one night next time!

A couple of delightful days out of a busy schedule at Lochiel. Accommodation is first class. Lying in bed at night bathed in the moonlight through the four hexagon windows on the third floor bedroom was surreal. Every window gives you a different aspect into the forest. Sitting on the bedroom balcony reading and having coffee a family of deer wandered by, next day a stag complete with a full set of antlers. Being able to walk everywhere into Olinda made two days seem longer. Breakfast at Ranges was superb, the big breakfast we could only manage one day and we did not seem hungry the rest of the time. Treated ourselves to dinner in the room, if you wanted to cook there is a full stove and oven, but we just did breads, cheeses etc. It was just too nice to go out. We look

Loved our stay, beautiful cottages amongst the trees. We stayed in the guest house top level; Open fire, spa bath, queen bed and full kitchenette with a choice of Restaurants in walking distance. We have no negative feedback and would easily stay again, a great getaway for couples.

We stayed here overnight to enable an oxfam night walk practice. Great location, across the road from a great sweet shop which supports locally made goods, around the corner from lovely cafes and shops ( including the gorgeous Little Lands shop), and a short walk to some great hiking trails. The check in was a little late due to the previous people apparently making a bit of a mess but this was rectified as soon as possible and the condition of the place was beautifully clean and welcoming. The views from the window are beautiful and relaxing. The fireplace was set up ready to light, enough towels to be had, there are a good number of beds ( 3 upstairs, 2 downstairs all a leading. good size), full kitchen. Unfortunately the spa wasn't working but when we spoke to one of the

We stayed for a fun weekend in the school holidays. We were a party of 4 kids & 6 adults, and all fitted in comfortably! The spa was definitely a hit for all, as was the gorgeous open log fire! The house is set in beautiful bush with birds visiting our balcony often! The house is perfectly located in Olinda within easy access to everything we wanted to do! As an added bonus the sweet shop is just over the road 👍🏼 We would definitely recommend this accom & happily stay again!!

After staying at other retreats/ b&b's in the area and receiving much better service at nearby competitors, I was quite disappointed with our stay at Lochiels. The room/ cottage my partner and I stayed in was nice but it looked different from the online photos and it felt cramped. The scenery from the back windows was lovely but I felt that the room lacked in privacy as the cottages were close to one another and people walking by could see in (just an observation of mine as this was never an issue at other places I've stayed in Olinda). Check in was a bit confusing at Lochiels and there was no reception. Another detail that shocked me was the fact that, after paying $440 a night for accommodation here, it is expected that you pay a $50 cleaning fee if you do not wash the

Thank you for your feedback regarding your stay. Your booking was through a third party website and as per our booking confirmation breakfast was not included in the tariff. However we provided you with a 50% discounted voucher for local cafe, Ranges at Olinda. Fortunately our many guests before and after that have stayed with us have thoroughly enjoyed their stay with us and the beautiful unique rain forest views from the windows and balconies. Sometimes people view things differently.
