From the online pictures and description this place looked warm and inviting. My wife and I were looking to have an enjoyable weekend away. It ended up being a nightmare. We stayed in the magnolia room. The actuality of the premises was a far cry from what we had anticipated. The place was inadequately heated, poorly light, had a leaking ceiling, the television didn't work, rustic (but not in a good way) and it was too cold to use the very old bath. Early in the evening of the first night we decided to not stay on the second night. We verbally requested a refund for the second night and were informed this was not possible. We followed this up with an email the next morning confirming we would not be staying and reiterating our request. The email was never answered. Don't stay here. Find somewhere else.

At first they seemed nice, but when we walked into the back in a dark (what seemed to be a garage or something, messy paper work everywhere) we just brushed it off and we regret not looking at the place before paying the remaining money. When she showed us around she pointed out all the faulty appliances that we shouldn't be using, she asked my husband if he was a handyman and how she gets some of her guest to help her 'fix' the place up. Even if my husband is a handyman we are on our anniversary getaway, we came there to relax not work. The handle of the sliding door (which is basically your main entrance) is broken and anyone can break in literally with a ruler, no security at all. When we saw the bathroom she told us that she took 3 light bulbs out and only left us with 1, when we asked why she replied "because guest leave the lights on when they go out". It was so dusty and dirty, when we rocked up the towels were on the oil heater cause they weren't dried and ready for us, the towel rack broke while she was showing us around. The bed sheets didn't look clean nor did they smell clean, we saw some bed bugs on the bed and this put us off straight away. We booked the Deluxe Suite with Spa Bath, there was no balcony or mountain view for us. I believe that as guest we deserve to have a clean, comfortable and secure environment to stay in especially when we are paying $320 a night. We didn't end up staying at any of the 2 nights that we booked, We were so disappointed and outraged so we just went back home. We did call and try to compromise to get half our money back but they didn't return any of our calls or messages Absolutely the worst way to end our anniversary getaway!!!!

The actual property- building is great and the room had character and space. However there were things that disappointed us such as heating not working efficiently as one heater was broken coffee machine the milk frothed was broken and even though it said bed and breakfast and daily breakfast it meant they supply some ingredients and then you have to cook. When I booked I decided on the property due to its character as well as that it was a bed and breakfast so I didn’t need to cook but when we arrived and this wasn’t the case I was not happy at all. I was also not happy as I felt that what I paid for didn’t match the description and that this was a bed and breakfast. As I said disappointing.

We stayed in the Magnolia room I think, which is very roomy with a small kitchenette & large bathroom with a spa! We arrived on a very cold & wet weekend which meant we had to light the wood heater on arrival, it had no other form of decent heating so we had to get up several times during the night to put more wood on as we would have been freezing by the mornings! It made the room stuffy & hard to sleep in, unfortunately the bathroom stayed cold the 2 days we were there so we didn't feel lead to have a spa! The strange thing we found with the stay was the cooking facilities were placed outside the room in the front entrance, which was not heated, so getting up to cook breakfast out there was a bit discouraging! Apart from that the owners are lovely people & very friendly, I just feel that these two issues need to be considered & taken care off before next winter comes hopefully!

Earthstone and Lillian were very welcoming. We were shown to our room, which had the weirdest set up as a B & B. The "Entrance" to our room was a portico which had the cooking facilities, through a locked door was the accommodation proper. A combustion heater was located at the end of the room which only took me a few minutes to crank up, but it is the only worthwhile heating in the very large room, the small oil heater was pointless. (There was an abundance of red gum firewood outside the unit which easily lasted the 48 hours were were there.) After a few hours the room was sufficiently warm but if you want to keep it that way, you will need to stoke the fire throughout the night in the winter months. The bed was queen size and a bit hard on our old backs, a softer mattress would have served us better, but that's a personal thing. Bathroom was huge with a spa and good shower, the toilet was in the same room. The provisions provided were excellent, streaky bacon, margarine, dips, olives, long life milk, bread, a dozen eggs, large bottle of orange juice, tea and coffee of course. The only real downside, if you can call it that, was having to cook outside your room in the entrance hall, where there was no heating and on the very cold weekend we visited, it was uncomfortable. In the finer weather it would not be an issue. Location is quiet and in wonderful garden with heaps of trees. It rained heavily during our visit, but that added to the atmosphere I think. It is only 2 minute drive into the cafes and fun of Olinda township. Overall, a pleasant stay.

Spent 3 nights away in the Beech room. All amenities were very good and the room was spacious with all the essentials. Breakfast provisions and essentials included. Plenty of options for cooking. Short driving distance to shops and a nice area to walk around in. The hosts Lillian and earth song are beautiful, non-imposing and willing to help in any way. Thank you for a wonderful time away!

Rocky Creek Art Garden B&B was a pleasant surprise, nestled amongst the forest and right off the main road into Olinda, this beautifully hand crafted home built by Earthstone and Lillian awaits you. The most welcoming and hospitable hosts and owners of this property live here and tend to their guests with fresh local produce and green tea in front of the fireplace. They love a good chat! You have an option of 3 different rooms here; Magnolia : A traditional style room with a large separated Farmhouse Kitchen, seperate bathroom and lounge room, more like a house with two outside sitting areas. Not to forget the beautiful wood fire place at the end of the bed! Birch: Studio style room with a design of old Taiwanese furnishings, Lillian likes to collect Taiwanese Antique furniture, which can be found all through the property. A big spa bath, Couch, and Wood Fired Canara. -- Amazing. Beech: Very similar to the Birch room just a tad smaller, but with a full kitchen and no bath. Whichever room you choose, you can't possibly be disappointed as they are all unique, warm and waiting for you! WiFi Notice: Please know that due to the location, the WiFi signal is not strong. So, take a book or board games!

My partner and I spent an amazing weekend away at the Rocky Creek BnB. The room was lovely and the host made us feel at home, even got the fireplace started for us. The surrounding forest was so beautiful, if you love being in nature you will really enjoy this BnB.

Lovely hosts made us feel at home. A slightly quirky and really earthy building helped us to relax and drink up some nature. Spa worked well, bed comfortable. Wood heater topped it off for a cosy night. Would visit again.
