We stayed at the Boat Ramp Motel in late December/early January. We wanted to book 2 nights, but 4 nights was the minimum. I'm not sure if it was because of the time of the year. It is a pretty old style motel, but in a good location. It's a typical 70's style place, exposed brick walls etc. The place was clean, there was daily housekeeping, so the bathroom was kept clean, which is very important. The bed, while smaller than we are used to was fairly comfortable. The cost of $900 was quite a bit to pay for a 3 star motel, but I suppose the time of year had something to do with it. I assume it wouldn't be that much at other times.

Rooms were clean, comfortable bed, shower and toilet facilities were adequate. There's a nice pool and bbq area. Close to town and beach. Would stay again only if other places nearby were booked out or for 1 or two nights.

The Boat Ramp Motel is a refurbished 1960s motel. My room was clean and neat with microwave and toaster. I stayed in early September and the location is great, near the River. However; there is ongoing building work very close and the rooms are Small. You can hear everything next door through the walls - especially the toilet! You will need to collect the key from Riverside (near the Shell Service Station). Ask the gentleman in Reception for a room at the back of the complex away from the road and building works. Also, that he doesn't put anyone in the rooms either side of you, if you want a good night's sleep. If you want a tax receipt you need to ask for it! Printing tax receipts should be automatically part of the service Motel Receptions offer. There are much better places to stay in Ocean Grove for the money.

Stayed for one night and was pleasantly surprised by both the room and the location.
Opposite a golf course and the river.
Room was well appointed.
The heater was put on prior to our arrival, which was lovely considering it was quite a cold day.
Exactly what we were looking for, for a quick stopover.
Friendly operator

I booked in at the motel & found the room was great with everything that I expected. After reading earlier reviews I was expecting the worse. It was very wet & the yard was full of potholes full of water but was dried up by the time that I left the next morning. I would highly recommend this motel anytime.

Ocean grove is a beautiful destination point for a short weekend from Melbourne. Unfortunately our motel didnt stack up in value for the price. We were checked into room 2 and were greeted outside our room with a dirty and rusty table setting. The room was clean but something out of the 70s. The walls were far too thin and I didnt appreciate knowing what the people in the room were saying! Overall in desperate need of an overhaul to bring it up to todays standard....or lower the price. Sorry...not coming back.

The first sign that I saw on arrival was a "For Sale" sign. I should have suspected then what I was in for. The second sign that I saw was on the door at reception telling you to go to another resort around the corner to collect your room key. By the time I got back the persistent rain had become a torrential downpour and I had to step into a pool of water in the carpark. The bed was comfortable but the shower not so good. The TV reception dropped out each time the rain came so it was an early night for me but then I found out that you can hear everything that was going on in the next room. Interesting, but not conducive to a good nights sleep. The sooner that this place is sold to someone who cares, the better.

I will start by saying we paid $670 for a family room for two nights over the Easter weekend. I understand that prices are inflated over long weekends, but given there was no onsite customer service, or seemingly need to pay anyone ‘penalty rates’ (Rooms are not made up each day and there is an additional $20 fee if you leave dishes unwashed in the rooms) I think this price was highly excessive for the standard and quality of the room.
The room was dated, cobwebs throughout on the walls, toilet seat was ‘worn’, cobwebs and dead spiders inside the fly screens on the windows. We didn’t realise there was free wifi until I read other reviews here.
Having said all that, the reason I did not give a lower rating is the person who did arrive when called upon arrival, was very lovely, the beds were comfortable and rooms spacious. It is a quick drive into the town centre and there is a great deal of potential in this motel. I wish the owners luck with the work ahead of them.

Yes there is Wifi available but not in all rooms at the moment. In summer the pool temp is set to 27 degrees. And the spa is heats when the button is pressed.

There is no wifi and you won't want to swim in the pool it's horrible. When I was theret was dirty and uncared for. Besides the grass around the pool was knee high. I strongly suggest you book elsewhere! The place is on the market and just let go completely.
