Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is the local pub and it has a very popular restuarant offering a range of dishes which are very generous. My partner had the half meal for chicken parma and it filled a huge plate with chips, salad and a large piece of chicken. The locals are friendly, the conversations at the bar are based on weather, crops and farming. It was a friendly place to spend a few hours being part of the local community.

Great menu, reasonable prices and friendly/helpful staff.
Wine list very well priced.
Food: beef curry was sensational,
Pork belly was good.
Servings are very large, which left no room for dessert.
But we did a cheeky white chocolate cheesecake as a take away. Glad we did as it lived up to the hype from the waiter when enjoyed the following day.
This place was really busy on a Wednesday night and we left wishing we had a local like this at home.

Publican Bill and his family provide genuine Aussie pub hospitality. We enjoyed 2 nights accommodation in a cabin during our trip to Mount Arapiles and exploration of The Grampians.
Cabins are clean and tidy, with everything you need to make easy meals and get a good night’s rest.
Bistro meals are excellent, with plenty of choice for vegetarians. Try the most excellent homemade white chocolate cheesecake and you won’t regret it.

Great Pub, Hospitality and service was welcoming and quick.
Generous servings, Grilled Barramudi. Freshly cooked Veges and Chips were amazing topped off with sticky date pudding. Served hot and reasonably priced. A good experience.

We stayed in one of the cabins out back. We booked the cabin by phone and initially I was dubious about the cheap price. When we got there I was surprised to find the cabin was one of the cleanest, spacious and new that I had stayed in for a long time. Very handy if you are looking for accommodation in this area.

I stayed here for a few nights recently and was impressed as usually aussie country pubs are cosy and good in the bar and bistro; but the rooms are usually dilapidated. This one defies the trend and hosts kathy and John run a good little hotel. It has been renovated and the happy chef Jen will cook up a storm for you. You can't fail to be impressed, whether you stay in the rooms or the cabins. And don't just visit if you are a climber -- it's a great place to kick back and relax. I plan to visit again soon to do just that.

I stayed with my wife and kids because we needed a bathroom and electricity on a recent trip to Mt Arapiles.
The little prefab cabins are not really very stylish or glamorous but they at clean and pretty spacious and very practical. There is a room with a double bed, and room with two bunks (4 beds) a little bathroom and kitchen/dining. There are plenty of utensils and clean linen.
The folks at the pub are friendly and helpful. There is a bistro at the pub which is ok but not cheap. The new Natimuk Cafe (Friday-Sunday) was more our style and a great treat. The nearby milk bar has canned and dried food and milk.
It is a 15 minute drive to Mt Arapiles and 30 to Horsham, so Natimuk is not a bad place to stay even if you're mostly climbing but want a bit of 'luxury'.

had to stay for a week with work. there is about 4-5 (?) Cabins set back off main road behind the pub/hotel so they areshielded from road noise. Nice and clean with 2 bedrooms and a big kitchen area with lounge and TV and good heating! they beat the usual motel style room (not available anywhere in town in anycase!). Thin wall construction means noise from neighbouring cabins can be a problem if you get bad neighbours - see if you can asked to be spaced out from the other occupied cabins if possible

The hotel has both rooms and cabin accommodation just behind the hotel. We chose the latter, since this was more appropriate to our requirements as climbers. But the cabins were superb - clean, all mod cons, air conditioning. In addition, the hotel bar is immediately adjacent, with associated bar or restaurant food. Would definitely recommend to anybody climbing or passing through that area.

Visitors have been deterred from the region by reports of lack of water and having to bring in one's own. But this is nonsense. Although there are drought conditions, this in no way affects daily living, with plenty of water for for showers etc.
