I would best describe this hotel as being adequate. The hotel is ripe for a renovation but does have some redeeming features. It is well located being a moderate walk to shops and dining options. Parking is outside the room. The room had a very good electric operated blind which made the room very dark. The room is a good size but furnishings are quite dated. The room did lack bowls and cutlery which made eating any takeaway food in the room difficult. Each room had a bench out the front fixed to the ground which seem to be placed there for smokers. Service at reception was fine and the tariff not too pricey. Noise travelled quite freely between the rooms. I wouldn’t be in a rush to stay there again.

Golden Leaf Apartments located a short stroll from Kings Beach, is the ideals a “home base” for visiting other local sands and exploring the Sunshine Coast. Kings Beach is ideal for swimming, surfing and relaxing on the beach. Kings Beach has lifeguards year round 7 days a week. Across from the apartments there is Kings Beach Park and also a sound shell that has free concerts through out the year. We had a one bedroom apartment at Golden Leaf with three adults sharing a bedroom and pullout sofa double bed, with full kitchen facilities. Very comfortable, clean and ideally situated with a wonderful host Kay who was prepared to help at any time she was in the office.

Nicely renovated apartments, fabulous location close to beach and beachside pool, cafes, restaurants and tavern. Kings Beach is great for kids with many parks nearby. The resort has a nice pool and games room. The apartment is well fitted with everything you need.

Rooms were clean but dated. Ours had a musty smell which hung around. Bike shed was handy. The most curious aspect was that the reception area was taken over for morning and evening meals by the large extended family of the proprietor, leaving one feeling like an intruder at a family gathering rather than a hotel guest. Overall adequate but I’m not in any hurry to return.

Good place to stay for cyclists doing the rail trails.
Staff were very friendly and helpful, room was spacious and comfortable.
A quiet place to stay, modern and clean.

We were able to leave our car there for a couple of days while riding the rail trails at no cost.

My kids and I have stayed here several times on our way to Falls Creek from Melbourne - and again a few weeks ago. It is the perfect break to the long trip and the hospitality is awesome. The rooms are always super clean and well equipped. Nothing is too much trouble if you ask the lovely hosts, Nada and Vic. On freezing cold winter nights the rooms we have had have had have always warmed up quickly, but Nada would always ask if we would like extra blankets or more heating. Whilst the showers are tiled and a little cold under feet, the hot water happened quickly and was plentiful.

We have had hearty meals there and some "quick" afternoon teas - including one of home made doughnuts - which were EPIC.

Why would we travel on into the night, up the mountain in the dark, when we can enjoy the warmth and hospitality of the Golden Leaf Motel?

I stayed in this motel over Easter. On Easter Sunday was no room service at all. We were always short of one towel,as we had one extra bed. Cleanliness was less than average.
