The best test for customer service is arguably a challenging guest, and unfortunately my food intolerances put me in that category. Peppers Marysville went above and beyond, preparing a dinner to cater to my very limited diet and facilitating me preparing my own breakfast. In theory this shouldn't be too difficult a thing to ask, but probably 8/10 times carelessness in the kitchen causes problems. It all want perfectly smoothly at Peppers. Their staff were absolutely charming and helpful, going above and beyond. The room was also very quiet and comfortable and I'm told the corporate rates for rooms are also very reasonable. I recommend very highly.

This is a serene retreat just 90 minutes from Melbourne, nestled in the quiet town of Marysville. The hotel features an outdoor pool, fitness centre, and restaurant.

The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance from Marysville town centre and offers complimentary unlimited WiFi and free parking.

We booked the Superior King Room, which included a private bathroom with a walk-in shower. The room boasted amenities such as air conditioning, a seating area with a flat-screen TV, and a comfortable bed, making our stay both luxurious and accommodating.

We enjoyed our stay.

Stayed at Peppers for two nights booking through luxury escapes. Marysville has a small main town and Peppers is located on the main road with easy walking to the shops, cafes and the walking/hiking trails. Good size car park around the back. The room was clean and tidy, the view from our room was unfortunately looking into the car park. The pool area needs to be attended to, there was very large spider webs across the entire roofing and only two sun lounges. We were there on a quite hot days so this was surprising (and disappointing) for a hotel of this size especially after we had just finished a massive hike. All the photos show serval sun lounges so I did enquire with a person at reception whether there was any other lounges and received a curt no response. We didn’t eat at the restaurant as wanted to try the local shops and restaurants which were great.

I arrived for a one-night stay with a friend for a weekend getaway in Marysville. The design and cleanliness of the could not be faulted. However, dinner in the hotel restaurant was severely underwhelming. I had the $40 Beef Cheek which was so salty it was barely edible. The "garlic bread" ($13) was just a single turkish bread roll that was cut into four pieces and spread with butter. The vegetables ($13) was just steamed broccolini contained no seasoning at all and was completely. I find it hard for those prices to be justified, particularly for the sides. The restaurant then tried to charge us for drinks that were already paid for at the bar.

The most disappointing of the weekend was the $5 charge to the room on check-out. We were shocked to learn that this was because my friend had the audacity to use a teabag that was already in the room. We are not talking about gourmet tea here either, just a standard teabag. There is no signage within the room that would indicate that tea and coffee were not complimentary and something that is standard in almost all hotel venues. To charge a whole $5 for a single basic teabag is not only greedy, but also quite deceptive to not indicate anywhere that you are being charged for tea and coffee in the room only to find out on check-out.

Pros
1. Friendly staff at check in
2. Clean - except the carpet in the room, which was stained in areas
3. Buffet breakfast was varied, friendly staff, can ask for eggs to be freshly made (scrambled and boiled eggs were part of the buffet, we ordered fried) was nice to have loose leaf tea bags
4. Plenty of free outdoor parking

Cons
1. Could hear lots of noise in the corridor (people chatting and going in and out of their rooms during the night which disrupted our sleep)
2. Sofa bed was rock hard
3. Pool water was a bit murky
4. Have to pay extra for the movie channel
5. Check out seemed slow, long line at 10am. Express check out/key drop off would be a good option.

For breakfast, a sign or QR code near the Nespresso machine with instructions on how to use it would be good, lots of us didn’t know and guests kindly showed others what to do.

Mid week stay 3 nights, room ok up to the standard excepted and house keeping was excellent , nothing was too much trouble . It was a hot 3 days which was forecasted .Pool was well used as you would think in this weather and as many families use it , resort staff need to allow for this and keep on top of cleaning and the right sort of chemicals as none take pool was out of action on Australian day with not enough notice to patrons to planing other activities. I’ll talk about the restaurant it looked promising wth happy hour drinks fist house wine ok for me and my partner then a family ordered food and drinks for too or thee families with no other staff to take our drink order 15 mins later we had our 2nd drink but out of happy hour time frame . We pre booked table for two for 7. .30 pm ,arrived on time ordered two and three course meals , pork belly entree was amazing (shared ) and main meal was of a reasonable standard (crayfish Mornay) and the lamb excellent. Two deserts to come , tried to get on other drink from passing staff gave up as food staff doing other cleanup etc was asked THREE times in the next 10 to 15 mins may be shorter , finally
got to order another wine still no desert they asked again if we had eaten our desert said no , I then noticed the kitchen had pretty much closed up and said to chef I had waited long enough and whet to sort bill , we worked a reasonable transaction, I got the impression from staff that there over worked in this COVID environment , when more patrons booked and use facilities , their just excepted to work longer and harder with the same smile on there face , we did pay a reasonable price and excepted a better Experience , Kevin

Dear Kevin, Thank you for your feedback in relation to your recent stay with us. Firstly I am sorry that you felt that our service delivery at the restaurant was below par on this occasion. Our team prides itself on customer service and to feel that we let someone down in this area is very disappointing to us. Secondly apologise for not having the pool available for guest use on Australia Day due to unforeseen maintenance issue. In a brighter note we are glad you enjoy the service you received from our housekeeping team and like most of the food. Once again we are sorry that your stay wasn’t fully enjoyable due to couple of let-downs and hope that we have the opportunity to welcome you back to our hotel so that you can experience what we are truly capable of. Kind regards Sanjaya and Peppers Marysville Team

Unfortunately, the restaurant is not apt for any property or setting!
The food for both dinner and breakfast, well where do I start? It was awful and they by far do not have an idea how to cook!
Overpriced and disgusting food!
I do not believe that you stuff one mushroom with mushrooms with no flavour whatsoever and charge 26$ sorry! I’m not going to continue with the rest of the meals like a crispy pork belly comes stewed….
And it folliwed

As interstate guests from Sunshine Coast QLD we enjoyed the beauty and surrounds of this gorgeous Victorian town. The friendly and welcoming service from all representatives of Peppers is a standout feature. Each staff member ensured that our stay was enjoyable and were so obliging to meet any requests ...thank you. Our room was peaceful with a gorgeous outlook to enjoy the ambience of this region. The restaurant staff were friendly and happy which is a great asset for guests when dining and our meals were very enjoyable. Would highly recommend.

Modern, comfortable, quality, quiet, friendly, relaxing, central, etc.
We had two nights in a 2nd floor double Woodland room at the end of a small corridor with views towards the tennis courts and garden area. The room was spacious with king bed, two seater couch, writing desk and cupboard with mini fridge, safe, tea/coffee making facilities and plenty of room for any 'bring from home' snacks etc. Bathroom was also big enough to fit two people with a big shower area. Plenty of wardrobe and shelving space also provided. Windows (including a small opening one) are double glazed. Overall very quiet. Except when closing the door, you need to guide door close or it will 'bang' shut. Small pool, but enough to cool down on a hot day, with around 8 deck chairs and couple of tables with chairs and umbrellas. A gym and sauna is also on the property. Buffet breakfast (all the usual basic hot/cold choices) was provided in our package and this was had in the Radius Cafe with other meals provided in the Radius Bar & Grill. The property is large with rooms located in different 'wings' with various views. Our Woodland Double Room had no balcony. Be careful when choosing rooms with balcony as some rooms had a balcony that could only hold 2 chairs, tightly side by side on the small balcony (I assume these are listed as the Woodland Double rooms with balcony) and others have a nice full length balcony (these again I would assume are the 1 bedroom Suites with balcony). The town was very quite during the week we were there, with extra people arriving for the weekend. Apart from the Radius Bar & Grill on the property, there was little else to choose from for a meal at night except over the road at Elevation 423 (had a nice parma deal) and the Marysville Pub. Overall had an enjoyable stay and would return again.

Usually with excellent service, and was expecting more attention to cleanliness given the pandemic. Got in the room and used glasses were on the floor by the door.cleaner left supplies in the room,so we suspect incomplete surface cleaning and we did it ourselves for extra precaution. Sheets were good and clean.Would be more convenient to have USB ports on both side tables. All outlets need to be electrically checked ‘cause they were temperamental.Movies are overpriced.Walls are paper thin and we heard all words from another room's conversations. At the restaurant, front of the house man said he’s not supposed to work there ‘cause he is the front person at the hotel-so he doesn’t know much about food and drinks. Our orders took more than 30-45 minutes to come each time, even the drinks had to be made together with the meal.no coordination when we followed up,and the front guy didn’t know what was happening with our orders.Would’ve been understandable if they were full house but they’re set up with limited capacity due to safe distancing.

Hi Rick, I did not see any pets there and would suspect that they would not be welcome. This situation would be the same for any large hotel.
