Comfortable accommodation, and warm welcome. Hosts friendly and helpful. Cottages well appointed. Great views. Close to Mansfield township, alpine areas, lake, food and wine districts, and other regional attractions. A wonderful stay.
Beautifully kept property, amazing barbecue area, immaculate, well equipped cottages and an easy walk into Mansfield on the old rail path. Blankets of stars at night and lots of birdsong in the morning. A credit to the owners and thank you for having us...
We have just thoroughly enjoyed a 3 night stay in one of these gorgeous cottages which are a short, pretty walk along one of the Victorian railway walks into town. The setting is lovely and the cottages so comfortable and spotless - lovely bed, great shower, well furnished living areas and so relaxing to sit on the verandah with a cuppa overlooking the autumn trees. To be picky, we would have appreciated somewhere other than the floor to put our bags in the main bedroom so needed to use the second bedroom for this purpose. Didn't matter to us but might be important for a family using the second bedroom. All around, a lovely choice for accommodation at Mansfield.
My family of four stayed at Overflow Cottages over Easter. The cottages are really spacious and comfortable and set in immaculate gardens. The whole property is incredibly well maintained. Being right on the edge of Mansfield was very handy as we were in and out of town all weekend. The property is far enough out of town to be surrounded by paddocks which was just lovely. The cottage was very clean on arrival. The 2 litre bottle of milk (as opposed to the tiny size usually left in such properties) was a welcome touch and my boys devoured the homemade chocolate tarts in the first five minutes. This was such a lovely touch. The towels and linen were good quality and the beds all very comfortable. I was a bit disappointed that there was no hanging or cupboard space in the bedrooms. There was a portable hanging rail in the lounge area, but this was not high enough for hanging anything longer than a shirt. I would also have liked to see bedside tables and lamps. Reading in bed with a cuppa is a holiday luxury for me and I wasn't able to do this easily. There were ceiling mounted lights over the head of the bed in the master bedroom, but as there was only one switch controlling both lights, and it was on the other side of the bed, they were as good as useless to me. One last small gripe was the lack of any sort of cutting knife. There were dinner knives, but nothing we could use to chop up some fruit, cake, cheese or the like. On the whole, I would definitely come back and recommend Overlow Cottages to others.…
We just spent 3 nights at the Overflow Cottages and it was a terrific experience for all the whole family. The cottages were well equipped and extremely comfortable and we would certainly return the next time we're in Mansfield. The service we received from Paul and Dianne was first class and we couldn't have asked for any more.
We left booking our accommodation for a ski weekend a little late and was faced with the possibility of paying a hefty $500-700 per night to stay up the mountain. We looked for alternatives and came across the Overflow Cottages in Mansfield. The cottages come equipped with 2 bedrooms, a full kitchen, living area, a good size bathroom and even outdoor decking (probably better suited to the warmer months). There is air con to keep the place warm and electric blankets. The kitchen was fully stocked (with kitchen utensils/equipment) and included a 2L bottle of milk and some homemade cookies which were a great surprise. Although the cottages are just off the highway, we couldn't hear a thing so there are no issues with traffic noise. We only paid a fraction of what you would if we stayed up the mountain and I personally think this is a better option. Mansfield's main hub is only 2km away so it's easy to get too if you need anything. The drive up to Mt Buller was only 45min and despite an early rise to beat the queue it's made easier by having a comfortable night's sleep. The only downside to our stay would be the lack of towels (no hand towel in bathroom or face cloths) and no drying room like you'd get up the mountain for your ski clothes. These were only minor issues in the scheme of things. I'd definitely come back and stay again if skiing at Buller.…
We came here to check out the snow at Mt. Buller and decided to stay at Overflow Cottges for 2 nights. This is a wonderful cottage! Big beautiful property, lots of animals wandering around and lovely owners. We had a great weekend away, thanks!
What a little beauty. We have stayed a couple of nights using Overflow Cottages as our base whilst investigating a future tree change. It's handy with regards to proximity from town, it has enough kitchen equipment to competently cook an evening meal as well as providing a wood-fired bbq. Heating/cooling, washing machine. Nestled amongst paddocks of sheep and cattle. Thanks for a lovely stay - we'd be back without hesitation!!!
Warm and welcoming accomodation. Can easily recomend these cottages. More than home away from home... Won't hestitate to stay here in the future.
