Detailed Reviews
We hadn't booked ahead and we knew it was school holidays but thought we would take a chance considering it was through Covid and only regional Victoria is able to travel. We weren't sure which park we were going to choose so we arrived in Mallacoota to have a look around, this was the most appealing park to us so we thought we would try here first. The office person who greeted us was very friendly and listened to what we wanted and accomodated our requests. The result being we ended up with a fantastic site with great views over the inlet and all for a reasonable price especially considering it is school holidays.

4 different price points for sites, depending on waterfront or not and powered or not. The unpowered sites one road back from the water are the best value. When I went this year it wasn’t too busy so I still had waterfront views and only paid $20/night. Amenities are clean but can be very busy in summer-especially showers. Sites can be very sloped but there are ways around it usually, or just ask for a flat site as there are plenty available. Don’t feel too cramped in. No traffic noise. Close to shops.

Stayed here in a group of friends for 7 nights in March 2021. Wonderful location on the lower section of the park with lake views. Toilets and facilities clean, sites were safe but it was outside of school holidays and the majority of campers were retired couples in large groups. Very friendly staff and fellow xampers

This is a large campsite with about 650 allocated sites spread along the riverfront.
When we visited last week, it was busy and most of the sites had caravans utilising them. The vans were extremely close to one another and one got the sense that things were overcrowded. Not much Covid awareness.
Besides for this, the ablution facilities are woefully inadequate. At the area we camped at, which must have serviced at least 150 sites, there were 5 aged showers and 4 aged toilets. (Female) The toilet block was tired and the taps turned when one turned them on. These facilities were also grubby from overuse. There were queues to use the showers in the morning.
This place is run by the Shire council. It needs serious upgrading and reconfiguring of sites.
We certainly will not be returning. There are numerous other better managed campsites along the coast.

Stayed here 5 nights in October. Wonderful location right on the lake, wonderful view of lakes, offshore and Gabo island in the distance. Park has everything you need. Toilets a little tired but kept very clean and tidy. Plenty of bins everywhere and grass kept neatly within the park. Each arvo the locals come out to feed amongst the campsites and the footy oval. Awesome to see up close - locals being kangaroos !!! Wonderful place for a restful escape from the everyday. Enjoy.

This is a huge camp which is council owned and operated. The ammenities were clean but badly dated (The worst I have been in for a long time). The showers were cramped, hot / cold water was hit and miss with the water stopping altogether one time. There are rubbish / recycle trailers near the ammenities, not enough for the size of the camp.
I am afraid we will not be back.
The sites were large but uneven and difficult to find. Staff were polite and helpful.

Second time staying here and it did not disappoint. The park is huge so you don’t feel like you are camping on top of people. Amenities blocks are well maintained and there are plenty of them. Easy walking or riding distance to local shops /pub etc. Waterfront campsites were great! Will be back.

This is a lovely caravan park. The amenities are for the most part quite dated, but always cleaned every day.
The staff at reception are very helpful and even though busy, do their very best to assist you.
We visited in summer this time so the park is quite full. So this is where the issues came about. The speed limit throughout the park is 10klm per hour. Nobody was obeying that. We had been staying there for several days and were at the end of one of the rows of powered sites. It was hard to believe how fast some of the cars were travelling in the park.Â
I saw two close calls with small children on bikes and one close call with a child who walked out between two vans.Â
The park could be better served and safer if there were a few more speed humps around.
I would hate to think that ignoring these speeding vehicles will lead to a tragedy, but given the way the drivers were acting, it is not inconceivable. Anyone visiting with children needs to be very aware of the safety issue.

Stayed a week, have stayed many times before and never had problems before. This time there was a large noisy group-partying very late, our neighbours put in a complaint, management sent everyone a text about fires and noise, but theses people just did it again the next night (3am). On previous visits, there was a patrol made at night by park staff but theses people seemed to know the staff no longer do this.

A beautiful caravan park on the beach. The park is such a peaceful
place with a beautiful outlook onto the water. Very well maintained park with excellent and clean amenities and is within walking distance to the shops.
My only negative about the park is that some of the sites are quite steep and many people had difficulty in getting their caravans level and in some cases the stabiliser legs were fully extended but still not touching the ground. Other than that, a great place for a peaceful escape!

Yes you can with the usual provisions, on a lead and pick up after.
It can be interesting watching your dogs reaction when they come across their first kangaroo.
Best you call the holiday park directly
