We stayed here on the way to Melbourne, from Sydney just to break up the driving. It was such a lovely place I wish we had of had longer. Seems like the perfect place to unwind away from the chaos of the city. The rooms are really comfortable and stylish and the lodge itself is this beautiful old character-filled building....

We recently spent a week at Karbeethong Lodge and returned home rested and rejuvenated, vowing to return again next year. The Lodge has a very warm friendly feel to it thanks to both the thoughtfully decorated interiors and the genuine hospitality of the host. The communal kitchen is the type often described as the heart of a big family home...

This place would be great value if could enjoy the facilities notionally available. Our booking was confused with another and the host wasn't expecting us when we arrived. Our room was OK; tasteful basic hotel room. Breakfast buffet was OK, too, with dried fruits, cereals, breads and dairy on offer, plus 24hour tea and coffee. But the winning features of...

Thank you for your comments, both positive and negative – your feedback is very important to us. Karbeethong Lodge is usually a beautiful and relaxing experience for our guests. More contacts have been exchanged and enduring friendships forged around our fireside than we can count in our time here [fifteen years], let alone the hundred-odd years Karbeethong has been here....

Stayed there one night only, is certainly worth more. Russell was a very caring and informative host. Beautifully located with splendid views onto the lake. We travelled from Sydney to Melbourne by car, and this was our stop over, which was a bit of a strech. Sydney-Mallacoota is 8 hrs.

This lodge has an amazing view. Our host Russell was very nice. All we wanted to do was sit on this porch and look at the view. Breakfast was nice and it is nice to interact with the other guests. Rooms are a bit tired but the whole expierence makes up for it. a pity we had to move on.

Stayed here with wife and two young kids for just one night but loved it. The facilities and rooms are basic but comfortable and clean and I'd take that any day in a place with such charm and character. Beautiful old house with amazing views over the lake. Very peaceful and Russell was great to deal with. Would go back...

Before you enter Mallacoota village, you turn left and while you park your car, you notice the marvelous view over the Mallacoota Inlet. This 1900 wooden house has a colonial feeling. The water in the inlet is salty and according the Russell - the owner - has no resident sharks. We went for a short swim from the beach nearby,...

We visited this idyllic location in February with warm weather and clear skies. The location was stunning and the facility is a very old style building overlooking water views. There's a big verandah and comfortable chairs to sit back and take in the views. The lounge was very old world and had a great atmosphere of days gone by. There...

My family and I stayed three nights at the Lodge, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We choose to take two rooms - 3 (two single beds for the teens) and 4 (for the parents!) - which opened on to the deck and the expansive views. Goyourownway's photos show the views quite well, as well as the nature of the rooms,...
