Having been to Mallacoota yearly for the last 20 years staying at the abode mud brick has given me even more respect for the township and its people. Peter & Margaret are two of the nicest people on earth they greet you with warmth and generosity that is infectiously good for the soul. The accomodation is out of this world... More

The Mudbrick cabins at the side of the property are under new ownership, the original owners Peter and Margaret who made this a place so special and famous still live in the main house and still have five amazing properties available onsite with the same Mudbrick influence. Margaret and Peter still share there passion for nature and the area they... More

A quirky, comfortable stay with our dog which we'd be very happy to repeat. Sitting beside the warm fire, glass of wine in hand watching the various birds flying in to feed on the provided birdseed. Wonderful views over the inlet of the sunset & sunrise.

I booked Katie's way in advance to visit our daughter while she spent a term at her school's remote campus which is accessed by water from the Karbethong pier. I thought we would be bringing my elderly father and so I had discussions with the owners about the most accessible unit and Katie's was recommended as it is accessible without... More

We stayed in the 2 front flats, though all of them overlook the inlet. The ever-changing water views and bird-life make this spot a wonderfully restful place. It is quiet - away from the town, which is a very pleasant 40-minute walk along the foreshore, with its boardwalks and terrific views. We found the new hosts very welcoming and helpful, and... More

We enjoyed our stay but reading the other reviews I think it should be mentioned that the place has changed hands sometime this year & the previous owners attention is missed. We brought our dogs & it was great to be able to have them inside, however it was disappointing that there was no immediate grass area to our unit... More

Staying at the Honeymoon Cottage surrounded by rainforest and overlooking Mallacoota Lower Lake, my time was made ever more special by the people, the wildlife, the rainforest and easy access to the top and bottom lakes of Mallacoota Inlet during my kayaking and fishing holiday. The cottage was homely and comfortable with a wood fire and everything I needed for... More

Our accomodation (Katies) was absolutely great!! We really enjoyed staying in the unique and self-built house! It is a great place to explore the wildlife of Mallacoota! Prepare for dozens of birds and three possoms coming to the balcony and waiting for food!!

This place is lovely if you like wildlife. We stayed for 2 nights and had a wonderful time observing and photographing: Rainbow lorikeets. The place is full with birdlife and Peter and his wife showed us the possums and sugar gliders (in the wild) during the evening. Peter and his wife are very friendly and you have enough privacy. The... More

Booked a week to completely relax, and with the aim to remove ourselves from hectic city life, and to enjoy the wildlife- mainly the birds. We achieved all these goals. The bird life at your door is completely spectacular. Whilst at Mallacoota we saw pelicans, numerous bird species, bush rats, koalas, kangaroos, a bandicoot, a long neck turtle and goannas.... More
