Detailed Reviews
Adobe flats, lovely hosts Peter and Margaret have been providing us with a wonderful holiday escape for years. Initially in 1983 we went with kids who loved our annual trips and us as a couple these days. A stunning view, koalas, kangaroos, lyrebirds around the houses, rainbow lorikeets and so many other species flocking to your decking. Great access to boating, swimming, bushwalks, picnic spots and delicious Lucy's restaurant nearby.
A heavenly holiday spot. Heavenly!

Son (aged 12) and daughter (aged 10) loved the adventure of staying at Adobe with our charming hosts Margaret and Peter Kurz. I appreciate the values that Peter and Margaret instil and facilitate. So much to do in and around Mallacoota - fishing, beach combing, boating, walks, drives.... I've been visiting Adobe since 1998 and have not tired of it yet.

+1

We were both enchanted with this wonderful property. Margaret and Peter are a lovely couple who made us feel welcome immediately. We were only planning to stay one night but as soon as we saw our little patch of paradise overlooking the water at Mallacoota we decided to stay another night. Lucky for us our cottage was available and we got to spend two wonderful nights here enjoying the birds and wildlife while looking out over our private garden at the beautiful views. What we also found most appealing about Adobe Mudbrick Holiday Flats was that it was pet friendly and our dog absolutely loved being in this environment where we got to walk along the many well kept paths and walkways of this amazing little town.

Stayed here with my wife and adult son for three nights as the first stop on a three week road trip. We fortunately booked the Penthouse which had sensational views of the lake. We also enjoyed watching the many beautiful birds eat the seed kindly provided by our hosts. Eclectic design and construction materials make this property most unusual and very interesting. An unconventional and unexpected experience but very enjoyable and relaxing. Great start to our trip!

Stayed at Adobe Mudbrick Flats for a second time last week. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Great location 5 mins drive from the township, or an easy bicycle ride along bike track.
Very quiet, peaceful garden setting, excellent views, huge native bird population. Bird feed provided. Well equipped kitchen, wood stove with firewood supplied. Very comfortable setup. Looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommended.

My husband and i stayed there last year in the cottage away from the main accommodation. It was such a unique little place, we had breakfast with the view of the amazing lake, as well as with all the colourful fun birds who we fed at the room window.
The whole stay was perfect. It was not only great price, it was comfortable, quiet and private. Just a short drive to the small village and to some treks and walks nearby.
The hosts were really friendly and helpful.
I loved it - wish it was closer to Melbourne so we could go more often!!

My wife and I were able to spend a night at the mudbrick cottages and had one of our favorite experiences of a 3-week visit to Australia. We were visiting from Chicago on our honeymoon and while we had a wonderful trip traveling along Australia's East coast, this was the place we wish we'd stayed for many more days and nights. The hosts Peter and Margaret could not have been more welcoming; certainly when you reserve a spot here you have your own hut to enjoy, but you also feel at home wherever you are on their plot. Bonuses were all the beautiful and unique animals from possum to sugar gliders to birds of all sizes and colors...not to mention the FIRE POLE which you can slide down from the main hut to the parking area! Lovely walking trails surround the property, and the reinforcement of sustainable, responsible living reminded us to be better stewards of our earth.

We have stayed a few times in various units at Adobe Mudbrick Holiday Flats, the flats are located about 4 km from Mallacoota each having its own unique views. The bird life is fantastic, we spent many hours watching the antics of the native birds and even managed a few sightings of Lyrebirds. The decor or the units is different, Peter is obviously an exponent of recycle and reuse and each unit has its own quirky charm. That said, we found the range of bits and pieces one of the most comprehensive of any unit in which we have stayed. The kitchen has the necessary items to cook most meals and there is a good range of books and games available.
Peter and Margaret are fantastic hosts, very friendly and helpful but allowing you your privacy. If you like a relaxing holiday and enjoy Australian native wildlife these units are well worth a visit and are very reasonably priced.

no, the closest wifi is at the shire office and information centre in Mallacoota.
This is not far away and has very comfortable arrangements including a cafe. Hope this finds you well and ready for Mallacoota. Affectionately Margaret and Peter
Yes cats can definitely come and stay with us; you can even take them for a walk on a lead along the beaches.
Love
Peter
