Detailed Reviews
A good break at a lovely location that just needs a bit more energy and atmosphere with some refinement in the services offered.
The rooms were clean and bed very comfortable
The wine tasting felt a bit rushed, with no option to review or comment on the wines. Some nibbles would have been ideal. This event could showcase the weekend and sell some wines.
The food at dinner and breakfast was very good. The ambience and dining experience could have striven more towards a fine dining experience particularly considering the views. White table clothes, lighting etc.
Tough times with COVID however a few subtle improvements would make all the difference

From the minute we checked into this beautiful venue, the experience was amazing.
A friendly, professional front office manager, was our first point of contact. Booked by my partner, for my 60th birthday celebration, the attention and feeling of being welcomed was sensational.
The accommodation, just perfect, spotless and detailed to perfection.
On to a wine tasting in the underground cellar, was an experience!
Great wines, a knowledgeable and friendly young lady hosting, truly well done.
A walk through the pristine grounds and vineyard to the terrific restaurant.
Great food, good wine list and amazing , friendly and professional service made the whole experience one of extreme satisfaction.
The breakfast was terrific, great food offering, and once again the friendly, professional service, to match the night before.
All up a must do venue when visiting the amazing Macedon ranges.

We booked this trip through their website after browsing through their packages. The packaged included 1 nights stay, wine tasting and a 3 course dinner. Staff were welcoming, room was clean and comfortable. Dinner options were great! Their location is close to the Macedon ranges to explore during the day. We would return again!

We visited for our wedding anniversary with friends. We had booked 2 nights dinner, bed and breakfast. The location is stunning and the buildings have character but things went down hill very quickly when we sat down for dinner on the first night.
We were presented with a menu that bore no resemblance to what was on the website (we double-checked on the day) and were told by our waitress that the menu had changed a couple of weeks before. What ensued was a glorified sharing lunch style menu not a three course gourmet dinner. Starters was salumi slapped onto a side plate on a bed of rocket with one gherkin between two of us. But the piece de resistance was the main course. Between the 4 of us we were served up half a spatchcock chicken, a piece of barrumundi, 2 pizzas, spinach and ricotta dumplings, broccolini, seared lettuce all dumped on the table at the same time then followed by Tiramisu (no choice of dessert for us!). This was certainly not the fine dining experience we were expecting.
To be fair the waitress told us that we were not the first people to complain about the menu and that we should talk to Kate on reception in the morning.
We duly saw Kate on Reception in the morning and she could not have been more helpful. We were refunded some money, she booked a winery lunch for us and we skipped dinner - only so much pizza can be eaten in a weekend!

Stayed there for 2 nights. Had 2 superior rooms. If these rooms were the higher priced ‘superior’ rooms, I would hate to see their standard room. Basic facilities. Tv was not much bigger then a laptop screen. Rooms needed a bit of a spruce up. Mould in shower, grouting falling away. Mini bar kept me awake all night (very noisy). Room furniture very tired and well used. Needs an upgrade. For $500 per room for 2 nights you would expect something a bit better. Dinner at their carriage house restaurant however was great. Not cheap but worth the price for a good meal.

We stayed here on a gift package for dinner, bed and breakfast. The setting is beautiful and very peaceful. However the accommodation is extremely tired and in great need of renovation and TLC. All the staff we met couldn’t have been lovelier and the service in the restaurant was excellent. The room was very disappointing and lacked any appeal or comfort. The bed was hard, no extra pillows or even a bottle of water was provided, and we hardly slept a wink due to the loud noise of the fridge (which we ended up having to turn off!) and the constant whining of the plumbing. The shower head was so low we had to do the limbo to get underneath the pathetic trickle that came out of it. Dinner in the restaurant was very enjoyable but, with no atmosphere at all, once it was dark and we could no longer see the vineyards outside, it became a bit like a canteen. Everyone was done well before 9 pm and the clearing of tables around us began. Overall this was a disappointing experience.

This old girl needs a makeover, it has so much potential and was a bit worn out.
The winery needed to spruce itself up over the lockdown with some paint and varnish and new carpet. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable on their wines and the location was great to visit Hanging Rock, Kyneton, Woodend and Malmsbury

Really lovely stay.
More picturesque than expected, photos online did not do it justice.
There was a wedding on while we were there creating a nice bit of ambience. The rooms were very sound proof though so did not effect our sleep or enjoyment of the tranquility.
Nice wines, nice service.

We visited the winery for a Sunday lunch after having been given a voucher over a year ago that we had been unable to use due to lockdowns. It seemed very tired in the dining room. No ambience, no music, no greenery but beautiful views from the deck. No shade available though. Pizza was the main course on the menu although there were entrees and desserts too. It was quite busy . We had visited the winery before and had a great time. Small changes could make a huge difference here.

A recent trip to a what use to be an awesome winery was some what disappointing.
With new owners taking over, some notable changes had taken place.
Starting with the wines, with approx 5 wines and two, yes two reds available to taste and purchase.
Some nice whites, however the reds Pinot & Shiraz were substandard to what we have previously tasted at the cellar door. Please bring back the Cleveland brand Reds taking from the winery itself, they were beautiful including the sparkling Pinot.
They changes to the décor seemed very odd considering the rustic old world charm that many people love about the place. By all means do a few mod con changes but please leave some authentic rustics that go so well with place.
So the rooms were still very comfortable and had been upgraded no issues there.
We were there for dinner on the Saturday night in which we could not fault the food, a credit to the Chefs. The wine again was just ok.
What we love about this winery is your staff, seriously they go above and beyond to help make patrons stay a pleasure.
Two staff we chatted to at dinner, Kayla and Brontë were fantastic again nothing was to much trouble, which is why we love our stays there.
100% will be back, hopefully something can be done with the wines as we love visiting the underground cellar door.
