Detailed Reviews
We enjoyed our time here. Although the facilities are rustic, they are functional and are great value for money given the price we paid. The established trees are beautiful, apparently they were once part of the botanical gardens. We had a very peaceful stay, long term residence were very friendly. Heidi was very attentive and being a local of the area suggested we venture down to Port Albert to see the fireworks. They were fantastic. We will definitely be back in hen we venture down south again.

We stayed at this park in our caravan for 3 weeks. The location is idyllic - beautiful trees and quiet. Unfortunately the maintenance and cleanliness of the facilities leaves a lot to be desired - such a shame. No dump here and need to get the key from Manager and drive to the Showgrounds to empty.

Korumburra Tourist Park is located 500m from South Gippsland Highway and close to the heritage railway station. The town centre is at walking distance. On Sundays train enthusiasts can ride the South Gippsland Railway, a tourist line operated by volunteers.
Korumburra had its best days long ago when coal mining brought immigrants and wealth to the region. Today the unimpressive town tries to promote itself as the Heritage Centre of South Gippsland. The town hosts the Coal Creek Community Park and Museum.
The park is quiet, family operated and minimally maintained. We had a powered site for one night. As it was off-season we saw few other camper-vans in the park. Facilities were OK and the park has a nice fire-place. The park hosts quite a number of semi-permanent residents. Overall the park appears somewhat shabby. Nonetheless we recommend Korumburra Tourist Park to anyone travelling with a camper-van.
We found Korumburra Tourist Park an acceptable option when you need a powered site for your camper-van.

Response from KorumburraTourist, Manager at Korumburra Tourist Park
Responded 12 Mar 2014
Thank you for your feedback. Due to a change of management and poor weather conditions the park certainly was not at it's best back in August. We have been working very hard to bring the park back up to it's former glory and are currently undergoing some major works to improve the grounds and amenities available.

Myself and family have had a wonderful lengthy stay here and I am 100% absolute that this is the best caravan park we have ever stayed at and we have travelled....a lot!
Firstly, the way it is layed out is perfect for toddlers and young kids, very easy to keep eyes on them while they play. The grounds are always kept neat and tidy and the big old trees offer shade and are so beautiful to gaze upon.
The play ground is such a bonus and very safe for little ones, our personal favorite feature is the net swing.
Secondly, the facilities are always kept in very good order, clean toilets, showers and there is always toilet paper, what more could you ask for? (Although, if you did ask for something more I'm quite sure it would be provided by the very accommodating staff)
There are plenty of bins around the park too, a well stocked camp kitchen with everything you need to cook up a meal or microwave one if that's your thing.
Thirdly, the park residents are welcoming and kind, always up for a chat or quick exchange of greetings if you're on the go.
Forthly, the owners of this park go so far above and beyond for their guests, they treat everyone that comes through their gates like family and that is a rare gift, I can't emphasize enough how much difference that makes to us on how we enjoy our stay somewhere, we felt welcome and valued the moment we arrived and have observed the workings of this park and its people for a few weeks during our stay, it truly is unlike any other and in a perfect location snuggled in behind the botanical gardens of Korumburra, still a small, majestic town surrounded by rolling hills.
If you're looking for a community feel, kind and genuine people, peace and tranquility, perfect location, even if you're just passing through for a night or long weekend, this is the place.
Gather around a fire in the rotunda and meet some fellow campers, swap a story or two or just lay peacefully under the stars tucked up in your sleeping bag (in my case swag)
This caravan park is safe for families and travelers of any sort, comfortable and everyone is respectful of each other.
Look no further if you want real value of people and value for money.
This place has it all.
A hidden gem.
My gratitude is endless.

This park has so much potential but has not been well-maintained. Cleanliness of the facilities leaves a lot to be desired as well.
We stayed on a powered site which was pleasant, especially in the sunshine however the power was a bit dodgy in the first socket so we needed to change over. Good central location for the area.
the rotunda with the open fire & bbqs was closed between 1:30 & 6pm - so when can you use it? The camp kitchen was locked up so couldn't be used and the playground could use some attention. Grass needed mowing and the road around needed attention.

As someone who has stayed at this beautiful park I am appalled that some people can be so misleading.
1, park owners Heidi and Adam are incredibly helpful and welcoming
2, I have had no issues while I have been at the park with my family. My children love this place.
3, this is a country setting so leaves, flies and spiders come with the territory.
4, amenities have always been well kept in my time here.
5, the camp kitchen is well kept and if there is ever and problem Heidi and Adam are quick to fix any issues.
6, I don't feel the negative review from the 17 year old drug addicted delinquent is a truthful reflection on this business, her mother (a friend of mine any others at the park) was very well cared for during her time at the park.
I highly recommend this place for an overnight trip, long weekend and family holidays. Many Thanks to Heidi, Adam and their kids for making out time at your park such a wonderful one.

I had such good memories of staying here a few years ago in the cabin 20. I was so looking forward to a return trip to recharge after a tough few months. The cabin we were booked into was a disgrace, for $110 per night, we had been looking forward to sitting on the deck with a glass of wine...the chairs were filthy, wouldn't even want to touch them let alone sit on them, the door jam was full of dead beetles and old cobwebs, the cabin was from circa 1975... Awful, awful, awful. I burst into tears and it was only because I disclosed our own personal tragedy recently that the manager gave us our money back ( had paid for two nights in advance). This place needs to be brought back to the charming place it was a few years ago.

I apologise again for not being able to assist you with your booking at our park. We have 2 two bedroom cabins on site, one was not available for the dates required. A vague description was given of the cabin that had previously been stayed in. One was not available and I described the other as clearly as possible. It is an older style cabin which has had the kitchen and main bedding refurbished. The cabin had been cleaned earlier in the week however due to the bush setting cobwebs and bugs are inevitable. Upon arrival you asked for cabin 20 and as I previously stated it was not available. Payment was made at check in. After briefly viewing the other cabin you returned to the office and advised that you wouldn't be staying and demanded a refund. I explained that our policy does not require us to provide a refund due to the circumstances. I offered to address your concerns, provide a discount or an alternative cabin but you became visibly upset, refusing to discuss the matter except to tell me I had ruined your holiday. I apologized for you being upset and any lack of communication that may have happened between us. I did not see the point of antagonizing the situation over a 2 night stay and provided a full refund and offered to assist with finding alternative accommodation which was also refused.

What a disgrace! Stayed 2 nights and paid $100 a night for a cabin. Stayed in cabin 7 and Omg the place was absolutely filthy. Dust thick on the tv, crumbs and food in the microwave. Oven was dirty and oil slashes everywhere, grill was filthy and a dead bug in there. Cushions on couch were dirty, windows filthy and they even left dirty sponge from person before in the sink. I really can’t believe the standard of these cabins and how they are even aloud to hire them out... so outdated and who ever cleans the place should be sacked... even fingerprints on the mirror in the bathroom. Have stayed here previously and wasn’t to bad but can definitely say I will not return and would recommend no one else does either.

Owner was very helpful and friendly, we paid $30 for a powered site. Toilets/showers were some of the best I have seen in a caravan park. Plenty of room in showers with hooks, benches and screen doors separating the actual shower from the changing/hanging space so floor and clothes don't get wet! Cool BBQ area with open fire and stuffed toys all over the roof, quite a sight. Sites themselves have concrete slabs to park on and fake grass mats for the annex area. Camp kitchen was nice enough with everything you need including a coffee machine (I think $3 for a cappuccino). There is a short walk you can do that leaves from the park (Olsen's Walk) which was nice in the morning.

Was warmly welcomed to the park by hosts and shown a drive through powered van site. Nice bush surroundings lots of trees and shade if needed. No traffic noise, only birds. Weather was cool during our stay and most nights we were over at the rotunda sitting around a nice warm wood fire chatting with very friendly locals and other travellers. You have to check out the stuffed toys fixed under the BBQ roof. Fun for all looking for "where's Wally". Amenities blocks all kept clean and presentable. Nice bush walks at rear of park, all leading back to the park. We extended our enjoyable stay by 2 days. Loved it. Recommend it.
