A great place to stay if looking for some peace and quiet. Lovely facilities and includes an outdoor Spa and a gym. Very friendly and accommodating host.

Very reasonable prices.

Also offers a limousine service at reasonable prices.

Very close to Sky High restaurant and lookout.

We spent a Saturday night here as a group of three couples and had a great evening. Host was welcoming and friendly. We all occupied the three rooms that had no ensuite, hence we used the shared bathroom. We had use of two toilets so that was no problem. The ensuite bedroom was occupied by another couple who were very friendly and we all enjoyed a chat together. House was located in a lovely quiet court and was within walking distance to Olinda falls. In the evening we stayed in and cooked a barbecue on the balcony. When it got too chilly to sit outside we enjoyed sitting in the lounge room in front of the open fire. Provisions were provided for us to cook our own breakfast so there was no pressure to rise at a certain time. All in all it was a lovely home in a lovely location and it suited our needs for a 'catch up' with our friends.

Our itinerary was drive from Melbourne to Yarra Glen then stay 2 nights in Kalorama for sightseeing around the area like blue hill berries and cherries at Silvan, National
Rhododendron Gardens at Olinda & etc. For us, we rent a car so this location was no problem with the price offer; if you don't have a car, this location is not convenient as the bus only stop outside the main road at Kalorama park, then walk about 1.4km to B&B. We park our car directly outside the house, prepare to carry your luggages up a few stairs enter to the house, we have no problem on this as we pack 3 person stuffs all in one luggage.

Rob was very friendly & welcoming, he explained his house in detail upon our arrival. He stay in the basement floor, & there is a bell to reach him. The outlook of the house is totally different from inside the moment we step in, is a very lovely rustic house with a big share bathroom and great wifi.

Some foods like eggs ready in refrigerator was at least a week ago the date "best by"; some freeze bread we don't know how to do as we only take the fresh from bakery; so morning we only taken the milk, & some of our own breads, fruits, & packing soup as near by there is limited choice restaurant around. He should stock up fresh foods regularly, at least the basic foods like eggs and bread.

During our stay, water supply was stop when we wash plate after breakfast. Rob was not in the house, so we got no water to shower and hygiene cleaning sob sob! We left a message to him, but till night time after our dinner come back to B&B, he still not come back yet. Again we got to wait him come back then only got water to shower, as another tenant make a call to him. This was trouble us as I need to clean my hand to remove contact lenses, get my son on bed to sleep after shower. Finally Rob came home & told that the water tank was empty, this really 1st time, we get some room rate discount offer by Rob.

Bed was not so comfortable, I easily awake by the movement of my son sleep next to me the whole night. We had a great dinner at La Lupa Romana Ristorante and Pizzeria in Montrose, 10mins drive from Kalorama.

Thanks for the vote if you found this helpful :D

This place was well below standard and we felt mislead by the reviews. House was cluttered and very personalized. Our room was dusty in places, very cramped, and the towels and bed linen appeared quite old. The tiny TV in the room (about 20cm) was hard to watch. The complimentary breakfast included frozen Helga's bread at the end of the loaf (about 2-3 end slices for us). The rest of the house was quite cold, I was hoping for cosy accommodation. The location was out of the way, and everywhere was a drive back up the mountain café, shops, pub etc. I would avoid this place.

5 rooms + large communal bathroom. 2 toilets. Room 3 is only one with an en-suite bathroom. 10 bottles of shampoo & 5 soaps!! Tiny rooms. Lots of antique clutter. 3 chairs + old dresser + glass table in room. Fridge in each room. Toaster, kettle, electric frypan, steamer, microwave & water jug. No work bench. No plates or cutlery in room. Suspended power board. Don't need all these appliances as there is a large fully-equiped kitchen just down the passage! Rooms need a wash & vacuum. Surplus clutter stored under the bed! Lots of food in the pantry, fridge & freezer. (Check use-by dates.) Breakfast on the balcony or in large dining room lounge. Separate lounge with open fireplace. Spa. Friendly reception by owner + shown all amenities. Dogs barked for 2 hours on first night. Had to phone owner @ 10pm. He returned home and took them inside.

Little B & B: The location is easy to find as long as your GPS is up to date: Little tricky as the signal is a bit slow to update... Probably due to so many trees.... That's a good thing though. Stayed in the Deluxe King Room, bed was comfortable and ensuite very clean. The owner was very friendly and although our stay didn't include breakfast he told us to help ourselves anyway. Location is pretty good and super quiet. It is very homely and would be fun to go with other couples. Large verandah surrounds the upper level where the rooms are and supports lovely lush green views. There is a spa out the back but weather not warm enough. The other rooms share a good size bathroom with a spa bath. There is a bbq on the verandah. There are two sitting rooms one kitchen/family room and another separate lounge. The lay out is good. It is not a 5 star venue but it is comfortable and clean. Would be fun weekend with friends. Close to art galleries, Local art & craft shopping, Water falls and magical views from the top of the mountain.

What a great little place this is.
5 rooms only with three having a shared bathroom and two with their own which is what we had, Cost a little more but still well below lesser offerings in the area
There is a well equipped and very well stocked kitchen and two fabulous London Club style lounges with big screen TVs and Chesterfield seating - just beautiful.
It is very quiet and a little out of the way but a few minutes drive sees you back in Kalorama. You can get pizza delivered form Big Al's - cheap, punctual delivery and not a bad pizza at all - thanks Big Al.
Check time can be as late as 11.30am - a nice touch. The host is a lovely chap who is incredibly helpful. We intend to go back just for the fun of it.

Driving around the mountains and decided to stay over.. Found this and thought we would give it a go!!
Booked on the net and arrived around 16:30... we kinda checked in and sat on the terrace with a coffee... Super peaceful and great location!!
Chilled for an hour or so then Rod the owner came in.. very polite and helpful.. gave a good recommendation for dinner too!
Great set up in this place, the upstairs is for guests... 5 bedrooms 1 lounge 1 kitchen 1 loo 1 bathroom and a huge terrace... We were left alone with a fridge full of food for brekky and heaps of coffee tea milk etc.
WiFi was great too
Rooms comfortable and TV on the walk..
Overall a different experience.. but I really enjoyed and recommend.. And I would visit again 😉
