Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This motel is an absolute gem! The rooms are clean and comfortable, the showers hot the bed comfortable with clean linens. The hostess Cherry is very helpful, polite and friendly she goes out of her way in making sure your stay is safe and relaxing and lastly all for a good rate! For those staying in the first three or four rooms the views over the mountains are amazing. It’s quiet, serene and perfect to escape Melbourne. I highly recommend staying a week or overnight when hiking or exploring the quaint town of Healesville.

We stayed for a few nights. The rooms were clean and had everything that we needed. Cherry was a wonderful hostess and turned the heater and electric blankets on for our arrival. Would definitely stay again (: P.S. the homemade apple cake was a 10/10 (: (:

Cherry was amazing! She was very friendly and happy to accommodate our needs. Tucked away in the peace and quiet, this motel is a great stop for a relaxing night away. I would definitely recommend staying if you get the chance!

Although the front looks a bit tired and run down, the rooms are clean and comfortable. The owner Cherry is very nice and welcoming. The rooms are large and have a fridge and tea and coffee making facilities, however there was milk..which was disappointing. The bathroom is clean and the showe nice and hot. The towels and face washers were different colours, white, brown and pink..which was kind of quirky. The room has some asian art on the walls which is different. The view is amazing, but because the balcony is shared people can walk past so you dont feel like you have privacy. Unfortunately the day we went it was really cold and raining and our heater stopped working, so we were freezing. The heaters/air con units could do with replacing as they are very old. Overall a good stay, the beds were comfortable and the room spacious and clean. A good option for those on a budget to stay in such a beautiful part of Victoria.

Went up to Lake Mountain for the day and wanted a place to stay rather than drive home. Found Maroondah View Motel and couldn’t be happier. Beautiful budget accommodation! Clean room, amazing staff, great location! You really couldn’t ask for more.

From stagnant water in the pool to stained old bath mats and filthy old beds. We couldn’t even spend the night. Owners were nice but the outside bungalow was so run down and filled with second hand furniture and covered in cobwebs. We asked for a refund - refused.

Stayed here for one night with my son on a road trip through the Yarra Valley/Yarra Ranges. Despite a mix-up with the room (given a double when a family room was booked) this was quickly resolved and the manager could not be more apologetic. The subsequent room had plenty of space and everything expected, comfortable beds, clean with a shared balcony and a wonderful view of Maroondah. The rooms and the motel exterior are very dated, however and despite recent redecoration, expect the shower, fridge, microwave and air conditioning to be functional but not modern. Price relative to others in the area seems about right.

We enjoyed our stay at the motel. The bed was firm and we had a good night sleep. The manager was very kind. It was a very hot day when we arrived and she came around to our room with fresh cold juices. She also showed us where to find food and vineyards for wine tasting. Overall, the motel was value for money,

Hotel had no note of our arrival, which was rather alarming, given that all other Healesville hotels were full. We had booked with Agoda. Hotel said they no longer dealt with them, something they and Agoda ought to sort out. Ad said swimming pool. They had a pool, but it had been out of commission for a long time. Told we could swim in river. This was just a muddy trickle. Room clean but very basic.
