We stayed at DULC in a Tree House cabin for 3 nights. Plenty of breakfast provisions of cereal, bread, condiments, bacon, eggs, fruit and yoghurts. Very extensive range and also a bottle of wine to enjoy! Our bedroom was on the 2nd floor with windows all around for a feeling of sleeping in the treetops. Overall a brilliant place to stay with the wildlife right outside the floor to ceiling windows, an amazing sight of kangaroos, wallabies and emus grazing in their natural habitat. We highly recommend this wonderful place and a big thankyou to Ruth and Shane for their hospitality. On a side note our package included a brilliant day tour with Grampians Helicopters which we have reviewed as well. Ruth organised all of this included in our price, which I'm sure they could organise whatever you wish to do on your stay.

A 2 night stay here was a stage in our trip. We arrived tired after a long drive but immediately started to relax.
The place is beautiful and the cabins are lovely.
Everything we needed and more was provided, a welcome food pack, Molton Brown toiletries, spa bath and everything you could need to spend a stress free couple of days.
You have to remember these are cabins in the Grampian and there are critters but nothing that causes problems and the floor to ceiling windows means you can watch the wildlife as it passes by, even in the bath!
We had the most relaxing time, just what we needed. We ate out at one of the local restaurants the first night then took advantage of the bbq facilities- lovely!

We stayed a few nights at the Down Under Log cabins just before Christmas – what a treat.
These cabins are close to town and yet you feel like you are secluded in the natural beauty of the Australian bush. The cabins are spacious and well equipped with all you need. Large picture window allow for enhanced views of the bush and visiting kangaroos. The bed was very comfortable and everything worked well. Our hosts were very accommodating instantly providing the few small this we requested. We very much enjoyed our stay and will certainly be back.

I spent two nights here in the Mountain View 1 Bedroom Cabin and it was fantastic. The Cabin is really beautiful and cosy, with floor to ceiling glass windows looking out onto the bush and wildlife. Very comfortable and well equipped accomodation. Beautiful spa bath with lots of natural light. DULC is conveniently located close to Hall's Gap (a very short drive) and the local hotel/pub is only a 15min walk away. Ruth and Shane were very good hosts. I was sad to leave!

These cabins are beautiful constructed with lots of floor to ceiling windows to give you the impression that you are really outside in nature. The beds were quite comfortable and the amenities in both the bathroom and kitchen were great. The cabins are nestled in the woods and each has its own privacy. All the windows have light blocking shades that were very useful on the really hot days as the sun came in to the cabin. The one drawback, at least in our two bedroom cabin, was the configuration of the tub/shower. The bathtub is underneath the slatted wooden floor of the shower which seemed odd. You would definitely need to be in great physical condition to be able to get in and out of the tub. The wooden slats, even with a cushioned bath mat which was provided, was quite hard to stand and to maintain balance. If you have any balance issues, there was nothing to hold onto.

Thanks Debra for submitting a review. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay in our cabin and felt you had all the comfort and amenities you required. The sunken bath is actually only in the cabin you were in ( Twin cabin). I guess you would have to speak to the architect who designed it to ask why! We have the same design in the house here. I guess the original owners liked the idea! Hope you enjoyed the rest of your trip in Australia and are now home safe and well. Kind Regards Ruth and Shane

We recently spent a couple of nights in one of the Treehouse cottages. While the main reason for our visit to Halls Gap was to go on the many scenic Grampians walks, DULC was a serene holiday destination in its own right. I spent almost as much time sitting on the window banquette (surrounded by forest) reading a book as I did bushwalking. Thoughtful touches are the little library of books donated mostly by previous guests and the selection of DVDs. The coffee machine is great but a bit complicated if you are a espresso novice (fresh milk would have made it even nicer). Kitchen is well stocked for the self-caterer and the Weber Q BBQ is the best we've had anywhere. Maybe most people won't be interested to know this but it's a pleasant 40 minute walk into Halls Gap along a tree-lined footpath beside Grampians Road - on a mild daylight saving evening, stroll past the mobs of roos and emus, have dinner and a few glasses of wine and walk back before sundown. There'll probably be some wallabies waiting for you. My partner and I definitely plan to do all of this again.

Thank you for your lovely review. We do aim to ensure our guests feel relaxed and comfortable, having a lovely homely place to come back to after exploring the Grampians. It sounds like we ticked all those boxes for you, which is great. We don't provide fresh milk for guests, as these days so many people have different dietary requirements and would incur a lot of waste we feel, but the supermarket in Halls Gap is always well stocked for guests to purchase provisions. I am pleased you found the cabin to be well stocked for self catering, and enjoyed preparing your own meals using the Weber Q as well. We look forward to welcoming you back again in the future for another Grampians getaway! Kind Regards Ruth

Stayed in the treehouse cabin for 2 nights in November 2020 and loved it! The cabin is great, with windows looking out to the bush all around you and the opportunity to see wild animals pass by is exactly what I wanted. I got lucky to be there when there were baby emus wandering by multiple times with their father, also saw a lot of kangaroos and kookaburras from the cabin, as well as a few lizards and deer. The bath was also a highlight as you had a clear ceiling and windows on the side of the bath that you could open up, so really gave you a great feeling of having a bath while being outside.
Ruth was great and extremely helpful with rescheduling due to the multiple lockdowns in Melbourne. Will definitely stay again next time i'm in the Grampians.

We stayed at Cabin 5 after 3 attempts of getting away there. Janene prepared a beautiful breakfast hamper for us for the 4 days. The surroundings were amazing with every window having a magnificent view of the bush with local kangaroos, birds and Emus wandering about. Every cabin had privacy screens which made the experience more tranquil. The outdoor spa was used every day after walking or golfing and was so relaxing. I would highly recommend as this was the 5th stay for us in Halls Gap and the best!

As soon as the Victorian Government gave the green light for people to commence travel, we booked our road trip around Victoria. And we found this gem of accommodation. The cabins are well equipped and appointed and the floor to ceiling windows allow for great views and sneaky observations of wildlife. In the evening one can watch the night sky from the couch, bed or even the bathtub. I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else, I loved it so much.

We returned today from 2 beautiful nights in Treehouse (no. 4) in this exclusive and beautifully-run property. The outlook from every window from our luxury log cabin was serene. Facilities and amenities were all of top-quality and we were made to feel extremely welcome by Ruth and her team on arrival. Halls Gap and the Grampians provide a wonderful array of walks of differing degrees of difficulty plus a good variety of restaurants and specialty shops. But we both agreed at the end of each day that we were lucky enough to be staying in the best accommodation available.

Answer from DULC

Hi, Thank you for your question. I am afraid we are strictly a no pets property. Also just for your information, the Grampians National park does not allow dogs either so if you did bring your dog to Halls Gap and wanted to do any walks/hikes /lookouts etc within the park you would not be able to take your dog with you.Kind Regards Ruth

Hi Mei, No I am sorry we do not allow any dogs or pets here at DULC. Our cabins are not fenced and there is too much wildlife around. Very few accommodation places in Halls Gap do allow pets due to this. For future guests comfort we don't allow any animals in the cabins either. Kind Regards Ruth
