Ngarie was very helpful on check in and gave us lots of useful information on walks, attractions and places to eat. The location is perfect as you are right in the Grampians, all you have to do is look around and you see mountains. The studios are beautifully maintained and they have good quality appliances in the kitchen and it was evident that they were thoroughly cleaned prior to our arrival. The two person spa was a wonderful treat after a day of walking around the Grampians. The studios are well positioned and provide great privacy to enjoy the beautiful surrounds. It was lovely sitting on the patio listening to the babbling brook while we had breakfast or while enjoying the antics of the local kangaroos who made an appearance each afternoon. Be sure to get back to the studios by around 3pm to enjoy the wonderful wildlife.

What a gorgeous little spot on earth. The cottages are built around a small stream, kangaroos roam the lawn, cockatoos and ducks bathe in the stream. The area is surrounded by tall eucalyptus trees and the view is of a steep wall of the Grampians. Impressive, beautiful and unspoilt. The studio was almost spotless. The kitchen was perfectly equipped and of high quality. The bathroom has a powerful shower. The bed was cozy and comfortable. A great starting point for hikes and excursions. Ngarie and Paul are uncomplicated and warm hosts. They give tips and are helpful. There are two books with hiking tours in the cottages. The guest washing machine, washing powder and dryer are free of charge. We felt completely at home and couldn't get enough of the relaxed wildlife. A wonderful and quiet place.

We stayed in a studio cottage for 3 nights. Wow, this place is fantastic. Quiet, spotlessly clean, comfortable bed, air con, very large smart TV and extremely well equipped kitchen with new and quality appliances. (An extra star for sharp knives, hotplates, microwave and full fridge - however there is no oven) The cottages face the escarpment and have a lovely deck fronting a large lawned area which ducks, birds and Kangaroos also enjoy. Parking is next to each cottage. We cannot fault this accommodation or the hosts who are working hard to improve the facilities after only 6 months of ownership.

The position is ideal – set back from the main road in a tranquil location, about 700m from the town centre. There are 9 cabins arranged in a L-shape around a grassy area which appeared a popular spot for grazing kangaroos.
The owners, Paul and Ngaire, provided a very warm welcome and obviously take a pride in maintaining the cabins which were spotless and well equipped.
I particularly enjoyed sitting on the front deck, reading, and enjoying the company of the kangaroos.

These studios are ideally placed in Halls Gap, off the main road but only a short stroll from shops, bars and restaurants. Spotlessly clean, comfortable and with helpful and friendly hosts. Sitting on the studio veranda in the evening provided a calm and relaxing break. Local wildlife visitors a bonus.

The studios are conveniently located near the restaurants in Halls Gap. They are grouped around a meadow with a small stream. You can watch the kangaroos from the terrace. The studios are well furnished. You can park your car right next to the studio. But what impressed us most was the reception. We were given tips on tours, restaurants and places of interest, and they were translated into German especially for us.

Made to feel welcome at check in, lots of information about what to do, where to eat and even good coffee in the morning. Lovely little cosy spa cottage. Roos in the front, cockys on the roof and magpies on the verandah to welcome us. It had everything inside the kitchenette that you need including cutlery, crockery, toaster etc. Nice to sit on the verandah after a day of exploring the beautiful local area, and then into the spa of course. Very convenient walk into town and very reasonably priced. We would have no hesitation recommending D'Altons Studios to our friends. Dave and Jane

We had an incredibly disappointing stay at Daltons resort. This place has so much potential but is incredibly run down and it’s evident that it’s time to hand it to someone who can run it properly. The man at the front was rude and arrogant when there was a mistake in the booking on their end. The cabins have charm and could be the best place to stay in halls gap if they were cared for. I did my back immediately after sitting on their terrible mattresses that I doubt have been updated since the cabins were built. The linen was ancient, yellowed and stained and was evidently over twenty years old. For such a basic fix of getting a $20 linen set at Kmart there is just no excuse for the state Daltons is now in. I have stayed here throughout my childhood and adult life and would not bother again until someone who cares for it can take over and give this location the attention it deserves.

Beds comfortable. Backstop mountains lovely and plenty kangaroos to go around. Very clean and comfortable. Only small drawback was tight parking space. Lovely lady at reception made us feel welcome. More than sufficient dishes and facilities to go around. Perfect for our purposes. The bed was spacious and had electric blankets fitted. Warm and toasty with the bed holding the heat hours after blanket switched off. Swing heater/cooler fitted to wall and large television with wifi connection.

We have just had a very enjoyable stay at D’Alton Studios. The studio cottages are lovely and they feature an outdoor balcony which overlooks a picturesque garden, with a stream. The cottages are clean, comfortable and have thoughtful touches provided by the owners. We appreciated the tips from Nairi, who has an extensive knowledge of the area and was very friendly. The wildlife at your door including kangaroos, cockatoos, magpies and kookaburras added to the experience of staying at these wonderful cottages. We really recommend you stay here the next time you are in Halls Gap.
