Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Had one night here, and will stay again if in Halls Gap. Friendly owners, clean and comfortable room, good bed (but why do motels always put doonas on beds in the summer??) Location perfect - easy walk to pubs, restaurants, shops etc. Particularly loved the outside lawn area, stunning view with chairs and fire pit for socialising if so inclined. Highly recommended..

New owner/manager Ian a fine gentleman .. even provided band aid for blistered boy. Great room, comfortable beds, big fridge and bathroom well provisioned. What a view. Fire pit at evening. Kangaroos hop onsite for dusk grass nibble. Fantastic location with short walk to town for groceries or takeaway dinner. Reckon we’ll return to this motel … first timers.

A small motel nestled between larger complexes. Room comfortable, light and very clean. Couldn’t fault the accommodation as it certainly provides value for money. Spacious grounds overlooking natural ponds with wildlife aplenty. Large fire pit, outdoor barbecue area and outdoor dining facilities makes this motel a delight to stay at.

The room layout is great and the service exceptional we were treated like royalty. The grounds are also fantastic with lovely deck lounge chairs and tables on grass to watch the afternoon wildlife show of bird life kangaroos and emus (kangaroos right up to our chairs) The fire pit at dusk also a wonderful way to relax after a day of hiking in the Grampians.

We looked through quite a few accommodation ard this area and still found this place one of our preferred stay for small group. It’s a small but comfortable space for 2 or 3 pax and the drive in arrangement made luggage movement very simple. Also, we thought the bed was comfortable and the fireplace was lovely. (Just becareful of kangaroo poo all around the grass patches.) We love watching Kangaroos and the different animals come by the lake in the morning or evening. Location is near town so we can walk to town to pick up our meals and do some wandering ard without too much hassle. Love this place! Hope you like it too!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The room wasn't the biggest we stayed in, but it was very well equipped and clean and comfortable. Great location - short walk to facilities in town - and very nice views across the valley. Not to mention the kangaroos! Highly recommended.

What a very very pleasant surprise. This motel doesn’t look much from the outside, but the owners have really put the effort in to make this a place to stay and come back too. Large room with plenty of space & a comfortable bed, good hot water in an OK bathroom, but the big tick here is the outdoor table to sit around and have a drink, maybe chat to a fellow tracker, but generally just soak in the view after a day walking.

we recently stayed here for 4 nights....the room is small, but has all you need and very clean...the bathroom is a good size and very clean...there are kangaroos on the property... the views from the back of the property are lovely with mountain views...they light a bonfire each evening to sit around and socialize with fellow travellers... the owners live on site, which is always helpful... both owners go out of their way to assist you with your needs...there is a small table and chairs in front of your eoom, but not private....there are microwaves to use outside of the room...we really enjoyed our stay....😊

While I’m sure there are many other lovely accommodation options in the area, you don’t really need to explore them as this one is just right. It ticked all the boxes for me. Price quite reasonable. Position is just right being a few hundred metres walk away from town. And it has personality plus with its fire pit and outdoor lounge overlooking the wetlands with glorious mountain range views as the backdrop. . Gary and Pip are easy going, affable, accommodating and helpful hosts. Pip gave me my itinerary for the weekend to ensure I could do a lot in my short time there. I was not disappointed with her suggestions of Venus baths, Mackenzie Falls, Reid’s lookout and Boroka Lookout. Gary kept the fire going so we could enjoy the night skies after seeing/hearing the activity of birds and kangaroos at dusk across the wetlands. And the bed was soooooo comfortable!
