We enjoyed our stay in the Stone Cottage. It is a beautifully built and decorated cottage, more like a home than a holiday cabin. Loved the timber cathedral ceiling, the loft bedroom, the log fire (with pre-chopped logs arriving every day), the views to the Grampians, the visiting wildlife, the peace and quiet and the colourful doona covers. The wheelchair accessible shower isn't sloped quite steeply enough to keep the water all in, so an extra bathmat would help mop up the escaping water and keep the tiles from being slippery. Also some extra reading lights in the loungeroom would be great.

If you’re looking for a unique experience and place to stay, Grampians Pioneer Cottages should be looked at. The hosts Corrine and Aiden kept us informed before and during the stay. Just a wonderful and welcoming family business. The grounds are well maintained and so are the cottages. Peaceful location to say the least. We stayed in the Red Brick cottage which had daily visits by the resident chickens who didn’t mind a feed. The cottage itself was very clean and had everything you could think of. The wifi was better than some hotels and motels we’ve stayed in. The scenery is just magical where we watched the sunrise on the porch every morning. A lot of wildlife to see in the area too. Kangaroos hopped by the front every morning and afternoon. One of the most comfortable stays we have had in a long time. If we ever come back we will be sure to stay in these cottages.

We (me, husband, 2 kids) stayed in the Mud Brick Cottage for two nights. Corinne was very welcoming. The cottage was clean and comfortable, and the location is lovely - we enjoyed watching the kangaroos roaming in the field across from the cottage.

Stayed here in the Mudbrick cottage (2 people) last week. The cottages are exactly what they are described as, however to us they felt a lot nicer than the photos suggest. It was quite cool on the days we stayed but the cottage had both excellent heating and an open fire with plenty of wood supplied (and stacked and ready on the first night). Very clean, well equipped, and views of either farmland with kangaroos, cockatoos and ponies, or a view of the mountains - depending which cottage you are in (all beautiful views.) Aidan and Corinne were particularly welcoming and friendly, and happy to help out if needed with places to go etc. The cottages are a short drive from Halls Gap - not sure exactly how far, you should check if that is a concern, but I would definitely rather stay here than directly in the centre of Halls Gap. Depends what you want - but the location is key to the kind of experience you can expect in the cottages which separates them out from accommodation in Halls Gap in my opinion.

I booked a few days accommodation when we were in lockdown number 6 never thinking we would get there and I knew I could cancel without a penalty. How blessed were we to 1) be allowed to travel, 2) to be overwhelmed by the history of the accommodation and environment and 3) to be surrounded by wildlife. I can’t recommend this place enough. The cabins offer unsurpassed privacy from other guests. The local kangaroos and emus are a constant delight and the free range chickens very cheeky. We have pledged to return every year and from my teens this is a big deal. Thank you.

Location is amazing and our log cabin ( as well as red brick cabin) had a gorgeous view to the ranges and large numbers of kangaroos all around, many with joeys. The weather was foul with wind howling around the eaves but the open fire was fantastic and the kitchen was very well equipped for cooking and staying in at night. Cabin was really charming and atmospheric, and very comfortable. Would return tomorrow if we could.

My husband and I spent 3 nights in the Log cabin at this property. We loved the look of the cottage and the spacious living area inside. Each day we saw kangaroos nearby plus emus on our walks. Our cottage was extremely private. Although there are 3 other cottages they are very well spaced out with different views. The log cabin has a good split system heater in the living area. Loved the 3 red chooks that wandered around. Overall a truly relaxing holiday.

With fabulous views of the eastern face of the Gariwerd (The Grampians), the accommodation here is a choice of four delightful handmade cottages. All are fully self contained , scrupulously clean and comfortable. The hosts are both a delight with a real love of the property.
Just 10k out of Halls Gap and all of the walks of the central Grampians, you could not pick a nicer, quieter place to stay.
Wallabies & emus abound.

We loved our stay, we all gave a collective 'wow' when we arrived. The cottage is gorgeous, really clean and comfortable. We loved the open fire which was ready to light when we arrived. The location was amazing with kangaroos literally outside the front door. The kids (ages 2,4,6,8) could play in our full view on the expanse of grass and we were able to relax with a glass of wine. Highly recommended and great value.

The log cottage was fabulous with an open fire set and ready for lighting. The beds were comfortable, views amazing and kangaroos and emus grazed right out front. The full kitchen, split system heating (to support the fire) and spacious cottage made the stay very comfortable. Highly recommended!
