Myself and my partner stayed here for one night whilst travelling in October.

We were travelling on a budget and as a result, some places we stayed at were great, some not so. This stay definately fell into the former category. For the price, you absolutely cannot beat it. We had a warm welcome and were shown to our two bedroom unit and provided with helpful information about the area. Although the accomodation was fairly basic, it had everything we needed and was incredibly spacious with a handy kitchenette and comfy beds. The bedrooms also felt very homely.

It was fairly cold when we were there so we couldn't make use of the pool, but I absolutely loved the fact that there were animals on site! I'm a massive animal lover so this was such a bonus and it was so great to have the goats just behind our unit. I also loved the owners dogs :) The grounds were also lovely, and I imagine the scenery looks even more beautiful in the summer.

The location was ideal and it was easy to get to many of the sights/walks/views. We talk particularly highly of our trip to Halls Gap and staying at Halls Haven, and just wish we had been able to stay longer. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Hi 221ce, thanks for your lovely review. We try hard to provide simple, comfy accommodation at an affordable price. We are gradually working our way around the units, updating and improving. It all takes a lot of time and money and we'll get it done one of these days but it's a work in progress. Our animals are our passion and so many guests enjoy interacting with the 'family' (the goats are hilarious!). Who knows, we may see you in the beautiful Grampians area again one of these days. Kind regards, Amanda and Dave.

We recently visted Halls Haven for a long weekend, following Covid lockdown. We were travelling as a group, two families, with our teenage daughter and her friends. We booked as a group two x two bedroom units, which were clean, cosy, warm and had everything we needed, including electric blankets! The resort itself is a short drive to Halls Gap town, and set on a beautiful acreage, complete with a variety of friendly farm and local wild animals. The host Amanda was fantastic, always happy to stop for a chat and makes sure guests have everything they need. The resort is well equipped with a pool, trampoline, golf putting green, carts, games room, endless outdoor space for the kids and a fantastic communal fire. The highlight of our stay was that with three teenage girls in our group, they spent the whole stay outdoors, visiting and feeding the animals, they also got up 8am every morning to go and join the morning animal feeding! I am sure most of the animals are now actually instagram stars! I was wonderful for us to see the girls out playing and having fun outdoors, rather than the usual being sat on phones and screens, they really did have the best time! They are very keen to return, and so are we...hopefully when we get out of lockdown 2.0! Thank you Amanda for a wonderful stay! Don't hesitate to choose Halls Haven, you won't be disappointed, and we can't wait to return!

What a lovely review, thank you!! We are so glad you all had a great time and hope we see you again sooner rather than later. We love to see kids of all ages get out and enjoy what we have to offer too. It's not a bad thing to get away from our screens and properly relax sometimes. Being that little distance out of town helps with that too. Stay well and see you all again. Kind regards, Amanda and Dave.

Halls Haven is our home away from home.

This quiet oasis has everything for any type of traveller. My son and I have visited Halls Haven on three occasions and it never fails to deliver fun and excitement for him as well as rest and relaxation for me.

We stayed in the Deluxe cabin which has ample space and fitted with all the comforts a family needs while on a much needed break.

We enjoyed walking around the well maintained grounds while interacting with the animals and spotting wildlife along the way.

There are many places to sit around the property and take in the picturesque surrounds. I particularly enjoy drinking a coffee outside while my son is free to roam around, exploring the pond or practice shooting some hoops.

The new owners have done a wonderful job adding their own personal touches to the property and made my son and I feel welcome from the moment we arrived.

We both cannot wait to be back at the end of the year to enjoy the animals and the facilities.

My 17m old and I had the best weekend stay here. Accomodation has everything you need plus more... and if you needed anything Amanda & Dave would go out there way to get it for you. The resort has an amazing amount of well fed animals that you can help feed daily and kept my son entertained, we didn’t need to visit the zoo. So many other things to keep you entertained during your stay as well bikes, tennis court, golf, games room and a swimming pool that we didn’t get to use due to weather. Wouldn’t hesitate to book again. Perfectly
Located about 5 min drive into Halls Gap town centre. Thanks for a wonderful stay

New owners Chris and Jeff provided a wonderfully welcoming environment for our family. Even before we arrived, through a tumultuous few months of me booking and then having to cancel due to lockdowns and then rebooking(!), Chris and Jeff were so kind in all of their communications. Chris kept reception open late on the day we arrived to accommodate everyone coming from Melbourne on day 1 of the metro-regional border opening and provided milk and eggs to see us through until we could get to the shops the next day. The kids thoroughly enjoyed feeding the animals with Jeff every morning, the bikes and carts available for their use, the bonfires and generally running amok through the large property with new friends they made along the way! Everything you need for a well-needed circuit breaker. Thanks for having us!

Oh Lyn, what an amazing review, we totally loved having you and your beautiful family stay with us. The children were wonderful helping Jeff with the animals in the morning and even collecting some wood in the buggy for the bonfire. It was so pleasing to see the way all the families interacted over and weekend and enjoying all we have to offer at Halls Haven. Hope to see you again some time. Regards Chris

We really enjoyed our stay as a family with two young kids ( a preschooler and a baby). There are so many things kids can do here and lots of amenities provided so the kids will never get bored. For example, there are some farm animals for kids to see, some bikes, quad bikes, golf driving range, game room with table tennis table, pool table, swimming pool, a playground etc.

My preschooler loved following the peacock around, feeding the chicken and collecting eggs in the morning. We also spotted lots of kangaroos and an emus around.

Halls Haven is a very nice place to stay if the adults want to just relax and enjoy the natural, while still be able to watch the kids having fun playing outside and getting a chance to interact with the farm animals.

It’s our second time here and we’ll definitely return again.

Perfect place to stay.

2 minutes drive into Centre of Halls Gap and 10 minutes to Halls Gap Zoo, everything really close.

Units were perfectly clean. Heating worked brilliantly. BBQ area was undercover including an oven outside was great for cooking breakfast.

Highlights are the animals onsite. Every morning you can join in feeding the alpacas, cows, goats and chickens. Resident Peacock Mr P is adorable as is Lochie the kangaroo. Many wild kangaroos nearby and a couple of emus wandering around the park too. Wonderful to wake up to kookaburras and magpies.

Hopefully the pool will have heating next time we stay, which is a definite.

Wouldn’t be staying anywhere else.

Definitely a beautiful spot, both in location & facilities. Everything you could need to have a self catering holiday, as well as plenty of activity options for keeping pre teens well and truly occupied. The daily hand feeding of the various farm animals, along with the resident peacock and emus wandering around the grounds was a highlight. Highly recommend it.

What an amazing spot, we have finally found the perfect accommodation for when we return to Halls Gap. There was nothing missing from here, from feeding the animals each morning, the swimming pool and to terrific owners who were so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Our accomodation was excellent, the kitchen was fully equipped with everything you need and also having the BBQ was an extra bonus. The units are generous size too. Even though it was fully booked out while we were there for the week it never seemed like it was. It was always peaceful. Thanks you Chris and Geoff, we will back.

What a review!! Thanks so much Katherine, so pleased you and your family enjoyed everything we have to offer at Halls Haven. We are still busy upgrading the units, new hotplates, exhaust fans, and ovens are going in as we speak and the tennis courts were completed last week. You'll certainly notice a difference when you return. The peace and tranquility is always here which is what our guests and wildlife enjoy. Fantastic place to stay. Cabins were spacious, warm and comfortable. Our kids loved exploring the grounds, checking out the chickens, goats, kangaroos, sheep and alpacas.
The owners feed the animals each morning and allow the kids to help out!
There was also cool buggy bikes, a great games room, fire pit, playground and tennis court.
A great, quiet place for kids and families
