Since you need a car to get around the Grampians, it’s definitely worth driving the 4km out of town to stay here. The site is wonderful, so well kept by really fantastic staff who are keen to make sure everything is nice for guests. The accommodation was really clean and beds were comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped to cook. There is a dvd player and plenty of dvds to borrow. The games room is excellent and there are fun bikes who borrow to cycle around the site. Kids would love it and also very romantic with a lake to sit or stroll around and kangaroos in the field in the early evenings. Each cabin has outdoor tables and chairs to enjoy plus there are shared spaces to sit. Highly recommended.

A short drive out of town, Halls Haven is set away from the road on acres of farmland. A quiet retreat, the units are everything that's needed for a comfortable time away, including a small kitchen and a spacious lounge area. Every unit has a large window that gives a view of the property lake and the Grampians beyond. The property activities are lovely to pass some time. The pool is small but entirely adequate for the number of units at the property. Feeding the animals in the morning was a unique touch.

Our third stay at Halls Haven two years ago was a charm, which is why we returned for a fourth visit this year. After 46 years of staying at different accommodation in and around Halls Gap, Halls Haven is definitely our favourite. It has varied and interesting facilities, is excellent value, the wildlife and scenery are captivating and the hosts and staff always friendly and helpful, which all combine to make a wonderful place for a relaxing holiday! Whether you’re active or just want to sit back and enjoy the views, travelling as adults or with children, Halls Haven really has something for everyone.

I really didn't want to write this review, but after trying to contact the property with no success I have no choice. The location is good for the Grampians NP & great for seeing Kangaroos. The bed was clean & comfortable. However after travelling across Australia this accommodation was a let down. It's the only place we stayed which did not provide hand towels (just face cloths) as I've got long hair I need a hand towel. When my Husband asked the cleaners they just past his another face cloth. There was no shampoo or body wash in the shower just 2 x conditioners. The windows were so dirty, the door seal was hanging off & there was a gap between the shower & sink unit what hadn't been cleaned for months, full of pubic hair & dirt, picture attached. There was a Lady at reception when we checked in. But no one was there to talk about the problems & no one was there when we checked out. Wouldn't stay again.

Completely puzzled as to why this person wrote such a negative review. As you can see by all our other reviews, we pride ourselves in our cleanliness, customer service and go out of our way to ensure everyone has an enjoyable stay. Most of her claims were totally incorrect or highly exaggerated. Yes, I was away at the time but our young managers, happily assisted with extra towels, shampoo, soap, conditioners and any other requests. If they had any concerns about the room why weren't they mentioned to the managers and I can assure you they would have been rectified immediately.

Stayed in July24 with my wife and two young daughters. This was our second trip to Halls Haven and had an amazing time. Facilities are great, beautiful setting and very friendly hosts who are on site to assist with anything you need. If you have little kids who love animals, it’s a must. Feeding the animals each morning was the highlight of the day for the kids and the resident peacock and many kangaroos provide much amusement. Will definitely be back for a third visit.

This quiet oasis has everything for any type of traveller. My son and I have visited Halls Haven on three occasions and it never fails to deliver fun and excitement for him as well as rest and relaxation for me.
We stayed in the Deluxe cabin which has ample space and fitted with all the comforts a family needs while on a much needed break.
We enjoyed walking around the well maintained grounds while interacting with the animals and spotting wildlife along the way.
There are many places to sit around the property and take in the picturesque surrounds. I particularly enjoy drinking a coffee outside while my son is free to roam around, exploring the pond or practice shooting some hoops.
The new owners have done a wonderful job adding their own personal touches to the property and made my son and I feel welcome from the moment we arrived.
We both cannot wait to be back at the end of the year to enjoy the animals and the facilities.

Thanks so much Christine for your wonderful review, you certainly put lots of thought into it and covered many of the highlights of Halls Haven. We love seeing families enjoy all the facilities we have to offer and look forward to welcoming you and your family back at the end of December. Hopefully then the warmer weather will enable more use of the swimming pool. Regards Chris Lovell

Best holiday ever! Extremely family friendly, quiet and peaceful. You can feed the farm animals every morning - alpaca, cows, goats, and chickens. Gorgeous scenery. Amazing wildlife, including kangaroos, emus, and birdlife, roam the property. Very good location close to town yet you're truly in the bush. Would easily recommend to literally anyone and can't wait to come back again!!

We loved our stay at Halls Haven! The bosses and employees are super nice. The place is very pleasant with its large pond and its nice pontoon. The lodge is large, clean and comfortable. And what about the animals, with kangaroos walking near the rooms and also an emu. There are also alpacas that you can feed every morning with the staff, as well as all kinds of farm animals. The location is great for visiting the Grampians, hiking, etc...

Myself and my partner stayed here for one night whilst travelling in October.
We were travelling on a budget and as a result, some places we stayed at were great, some not so. This stay definately fell into the former category. For the price, you absolutely cannot beat it. We had a warm welcome and were shown to our two bedroom unit and provided with helpful information about the area. Although the accomodation was fairly basic, it had everything we needed and was incredibly spacious with a handy kitchenette and comfy beds. The bedrooms also felt very homely.
It was fairly cold when we were there so we couldn't make use of the pool, but I absolutely loved the fact that there were animals on site! I'm a massive animal lover so this was such a bonus and it was so great to have the goats just behind our unit. I also loved the owners dogs :) The grounds were also lovely, and I imagine the scenery looks even more beautiful in the summer.
The location was ideal and it was easy to get to many of the sights/walks/views. We talk particularly highly of our trip to Halls Gap and staying at Halls Haven, and just wish we had been able to stay longer. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Hi 221ce, thanks for your lovely review. We try hard to provide simple, comfy accommodation at an affordable price. We are gradually working our way around the units, updating and improving. It all takes a lot of time and money and we'll get it done one of these days but it's a work in progress. Our animals are our passion and so many guests enjoy interacting with the 'family' (the goats are hilarious!). Who knows, we may see you in the beautiful Grampians area again one of these days. Kind regards, Amanda and Dave.

We (couple) have just returned from a great few days at Halls Haven holiday units. Chris the owner and her very able assistant Kim could not have been more delightful to deal with. Spotlessly clean unit. A very pretty site with lots!! Of animals and birds abound. Mr and mrs Peacock and baby waiting by our door when we returned home every day. Lots of activities available including a simple ‘ driving range’ for mum/dad or budding teenagers along with feeding all the animals. However for us we were very happy sitting in the sun around the (Croc😂) pond with our ‘cuppa’ or evening pre dinner drink. I bought home some very fresh chook eggs which were readily available. Highly recommend. Lovely chatting and meeting you Kim. A big Thankyou all round. Cheers Susan

Hi Jane, some of the units have pod machines the rest have Bodem type. There is a supermarket that stocks just about everything 4 Km away in Halls Gap town centre. Cheers, Amanda.
