Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

New owners mucked up our booking, they were slow to address the issue and blamed previous owners. Young Asian couple had poor English and even less understanding of the working of property. Not enough towels for each person. Overcharged on credit card fees. Charged for 2 bedroom cabin when only got 1 bedroom cabin. When this was pointed out the manager (not sighted at the property) tried to justify it. This was our 6th year coming to the log cabins and it was our last. Never going back 😡

Smelly, damp cabins with uncomfortable beds, unhelpful people too. Wouldn't recommend this place or Halls Gap with few decent eating options there. Full kitchen in cabins but not many options to purchase food to cook. Stay elsewhere if you do go there.

My visit to Halls Gap was with my adult son. Our 2-bedroom cabin was very clean, comfortable and spacious. The beds and lounge were very comfortable. The kitchen was fully equipped with appliances, cooking utensils, crockery, glassware and cutlery. The grounds are well maintained, and contain an outdoor swimming pool, playground equipment, and a barbeque. The proprietors were very friendly and helpful. Just behind our cabin, kangaroos and emus grazed all day. Halls Gap Log Cabins is conveniently located between Halls Gap retail area and the Indigenous Cultural Centre.

Exceptionally clean and quiet cabin with a lovely outlook (we had cabin #9 - a 2 bedroom cabin). Plenty of kangaroos and emus right on your doorstep. Reception staff were very helpful with plenty of suggestions for walks and recommendations for places to eat. A short walk from the town centre (approx. 2kms to heart of Halls Gap) but easy walk to a couple of restaurants. Fresh wood and everything you needed for your fire was provided every day. Reasonably well-appointed kitchen, exceptionally clean and quiet, bathroom seemed recently renovated. Quaint cabin decor - very cosy. Would highly recommend.

We were very happy here! Nice cabins that have everything you need in the well equipped kitchen to self cater. We enjoyed the outside sitting area, as well as all the wildlife (emus, kangaroos and myriad of birdlife) that are out at the back of the property. It is a nice 15 or 20 minute walk into town, along a path that is off the main road, so very safe and pleasant. Would definitely recommend as a great self catering alternative. We had the two bedroom cabin and would stay again.

We booked 3 cabins for a family holiday and the cabins met all expectations for our group of 12. Kitchens were well prepared, bathrooms spacious and lounges comfortable. Wood fires provided ample heating. The children's playground is central and easy to monitor. Wildlife was constantly around (kangaroos, emus and wild deer). We will be returning!

A very good place to stay. Our unit is well equipped, comfortable and spacious. The extra bedroom gives us room to move. Well appointed kitchen. Wood burner in the unit was great and wood was supplied. The aircon also worked well if you didnt wish to use the fire. Situated on the edge of town it is very quiet. No road noise. Walk to the cultural centre but the car is required to get to the shops. Kangaroos and emus everywhere. Very happy with our choice to stay here. Others here are regulars and return a number of times a year to chill. That is a recommendation in itself.

Spent 3 nights here and would highly recommend. The unit had everything we needed or could want. Spotlessly clean. Had a great wood heater that we lit each evening - we were so cosy. Wood was replenished each day. Our bed was very comfortable so we slept so well. If you like wildlife there was lots to see. Kangaroos, Emus and Deer just down the end of the units and all round the general area.

We stayed at the log cabin number 4 for 4 nights and we were extremely pleased. Diane and her partner are very nice and helpful. They really care that you spend a pleasant time at their property. The two bedroom cabin was very clean and everything was provided. All the rooms were nicely decorated and clean There was an iron and iron board, pegs, all required crockery and dinnerware. The bathroom clean and with required toiletries. The bed was very good and with electric blankets. They also provide free DVDs. There is also a laundry facility for everybody's use. The area where the cabins are is super, surrounded by the mountains and with kangaroos and emus coming every evening. The location is excellent, only a few minutes drive to the shops. There is also a swimming pool and a bbq area, which we did not use.

Stayed here for 2 nights. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. It is in excellent location backing unto bushland. Wildlife come up right to the cabin. The BBQ area is good and BBQs work perfectly. Kitchen and everything else is good and spacious. The only negative is that the cabin we stayed in (no 6), needs a renovation and new furniture. All the furniture is quite ordinary and old. Updating the cabin and new furniture would make it much nicer and stay much more pleasant.
