Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Outstanding location in regards to the main street and all of the convenience shops and restaurants. The meandering path takes you straight to them, being approx 20-50m away. The rooms are clean and comfortable, a bit outdated but the price point is reflective of that. We had one issue with the shower head not remaining upright in order to take a shower, but this was rectified within 30 minutes. The heated pool area was clean and inviting. I look forward to coming back again.

The unit was clean, but the outside of this property was very unclean. The barbecues were not usable because they were dirty. The manager had promised to clean. But the promise was not honoured. You had to walk very carefully on the way to reception. There was kangaroo poo everywhere.

This motel was a lot better than the pictures lead one to believe. Family members had a family room, which had a separate bedroom with twin beds, and we had what I think was a deluxe double room (it had a spa in the bathroom). Both were nice, and although the decor is old-fashioned the rooms were clean and comfortable and had plenty of furniture. The location is perfect; just a short walk to everything in the village, but it still feels remote, and the views are wonderful. Kangaroos arrive on the lawn every early morning and evening. There is a small playground, and an indoor pool which is very nice but can really only fit one family at a time. Breakfast arrangements were unclear, but you can easily bring your own, as everything you need (crockery, toaster etc) is provided, and the supermarket is only five minutes' walk away. There are several cafes in the adjacent 'village green' and nearby. The wildlife is a bit unruly, so cockatoos and kangaroos raid the bins; the staff could keep on top of this a bit more. But generally the staff are good. I would not stay anywhere else in Halls Gap now that I have found this place.

The location adjacent to restaurants and other facilities is first rate. The grounds could be so much better and are in need of TLC. The same could be said of the rooms which are very dated. The beds were however comfortable and clean. It was wonderful to wake to find cockatoos in the trees and kangaroos in the grounds. If some effort was put into the grounds and if the rooms were updated this could be a first rate motel.

We stayed in a spa unit that was in urgent need of a make-over. The tacky cheap microfibre quilt cover first caught our eye. The pillow inserts were yellow. Walls were covered in black soot from the gas log fire which worked when we first turned it on but failed to work when we returned from dinner. Fortunately there was an old split system still in working order. The bathroom was clean though outdated with odd set-up of basin being in the kitchenette. There were two old single sofa chairs with a small round coffee table with busted leg propped up in middle of them. The spa bath worked but tub needed a good scrub. Curtains on window were ripped and missing hooks. Carpet was grubby, cob webs in most corners of ceiling. Greeting upon arrival at the hotel was very lacklustre. We would never stay here again.

Only stayed here for one night. It is in a great location just a stroll from bars/restaurants and shops and across the road from some stunning walks leading to waterfalls and fantastic scenery.Due to the areas popularity if you want to eat out book somewhere in advance. We ate at Kookaburra Hotel which is a 5 min walk, food amazing.Staff great. Our room had everything we needed was clean but it so needs to be updated everything from bed and linen to towels and shower. It is very tired. However as I said the location is fab and it wouldn't stop me from staying there for a night.

This is the third time we have stayed at the Pinnacle and we cannot fault it! Tonight we booked in at very short notice and we’re thrilled with our host’s excellent communication, thoughtfulness and the superior quality of our spa suite - thank you!

For reasons unknown to us, the management decided they didn't want to honour our booking made through their website 8 weeks ago. Attendant was very creative with excuses including they wanted more $$for the room. In the end we felt we had no choice but to pay out. Ripped off for shabby accommodation. Great location, try to find a better place .

The best thing about the Pinnacle is the location, easy access to the main street and cafes. Rooms are very dated and in need of upgrade. We stayed in a queen room sleeping 4 with a separate bedroom. Overall it did not have a clean feel, the mould in the shower needs to be attended to, and the hairdryer replaced. The freezer compartment of the fridge needed de-frosting and the toaster replacing, but it had everything you needed in regards to microwave, cutlery, crockery etc. We found the beds comfortable and had a good sleep, although we did bring our own pillows from home, as we usually do on holidays. I think the Pinnacle would improve immensely with a bit of TLC.

The Pinncacle Lodge was in the perfect location with direct access to the Halls Gap township. The room layout was great - the kids had their own seperate bedroom area. It was a plesant surprise to have so much room after hiking for three days. The showers could do with an upgrade, but other than that it was a lovely place. We woke up to a family of small kanagroos on the grounds too.
