Would highly recommend staying here! We were greeted by friendly staff. We had a Red Balloon weekend, which included a 2 course lunch of pizza & dessert. A wine tasting & glass of wine. All beautiful!

Room is beautifully laid out with shutter windows between kitchen/lounge and bedroom in the Fernery room. We checked in late and they left the lights, heating and music playing ready for our arrival without even having to request this. DIY breakfast with all the trimmings in the fridge, pantry and surrounds. Excellent customer services and very friendly owner/operators managing the main interactions with customers. Would stay again and happily recommend to family, friends and anyone who wants a relaxed, serene getaway all the whilst staying within Victoria just one hours' drive or less from the inner south-east (less from the city itself).

We booked two cottages and found them both very clean, comfortable and well appointed for eco cottages. Check-in was easy once we found the right driveway and I’d recommend getting there during daylight hours to make things easy. Breakfast provisions were more than sufficient and the BBQ was handy for cooking. I’m not sure why the sink is so small because it’s barely large enough to wash a dinner plate, let alone the very large frypan. Perhaps its size is in keeping with the eco friendly theme.
Shower water is hot, towels are plentiful, there’s a comfortable bed and pillows and good instructions for how to use the coffee machine and TV. The hosts are really warm and welcoming and quick to respond.
The only reason we wouldn’t stay there again is because there wasn’t any WiFi and digital coverage was particularly poor. Unless I’m mistaken, this wasn’t noted anywhere on the website which is disappointing but it wasn’t something we raised with the hosts so we may have been denied a solution. I should note that when speaking with friends who live in Gisborne, the lack of coverage is a common complaint with residents of South Gisborne where the winery is located.
We did not have time to have lunch there or try the cellar door so I can’t offer a critique on these aspects of the winery.
Overall, if you’re looking for somewhere to get away from it all that offers clean, comfortable and fresh air living, this is a great place.

Hello LTDCBR, Thank you for the wonderful review. Unfortunately, Wi-Fi is something we have struggled with for a very long time, it is something that we continue to investigate to improve our guests comfort and convenience. The idea of the small sink is indeed to encourage the minimization of water usage. We would love to have you back to experience our cellar door restaurant. Hope to see you again soon, Kind Regards, Nikki Sedgman Gisborne Peak Winery - Administration

My partner and I booked two nights in an eco-cottage for a weekend getaway from Melbourne. It was really lovely!
When we arrived the cottage we pre-heated with a bottle of sparking waiting for us. The place was so cute. The fridge was stocked with essentials to make a delicious breakfast including eggs, bread, yogurt and bacon. Though it was a cold couple of days in May, the cabin was toasty with a powerful heater and much-appreciated electric blanket for the bed. We drank wine, played board games, listened to music and enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere.
The following day we went for a short walk around the vines and enjoyed a pizza lunch and wine tasting at the cellar door. All the staff were lovely and hospitable. I really have no complaints. It was a cozy, lovely and relaxing stay! I'd recommend it to anyone :)

My partner and I stayed for our eight year anniversary and absolutely loved it. Such a beautiful and peaceful place.
The cottages have everything you could ask for e.g. BBQ on the deck, electric fry pan, kitchen utensils, chopping boards, they even provide things like oil, salt and pepper. The breakfast provisions were fantastic, they even provided gluten free bread, cereal and bacon (we requested GF at time of booking). The gluten free provisions were clearly labelled and kept seperate to avoid cross contamination. The view from the deck, and everywhere else on the property, is spectacular.
The staff are super friendly, welcoming and helpful. Oh my, the gluten free lamb pizza was super delicious (ordered in advance as they prep the gluten free ones first before touching other pizzas). The wine is delicious and loved the chocolate lava cake (not gluten free, partner has coeliacs not me. He had the GF pear and cinnamon cake).
Phone reception was basically non-existent in the cottages but was slightly better in other areas of the property. It was actually really nice not being able to use our phones and enjoying the serenity. We took a book each which I enjoyed reading on the deck, although I did more looking at the surroundings than reading.
If you're wanting to head in to Gisborne for dinner (the cellar door at the winery is open for lunch only) and don't want to drive, let's face it there will be too much wine for driving, I suggest booking a taxi in advance. If you don't have any phone reception at all you can ask staff to call and book in advance for you. We tried to call a taxi from outside the cellar door (a bit of reception there) when we needed it and couldn't get through to the local company and had 2 uber drivers cancel on us so we were late for our dinner reservation.
Alternatively, you could buy some groceries in the morning then cook up a lovely meal with the BBQ or electric fry pan for dinner.
Can't recommend this place more.

Great getaway. Accommodation, overlooking the vines, was very quiet, well maintained, comfortable with additional extras, such as the breakfast pack. Very cosy. Neat as a pin. Had lunch at the winery - pizzas and sampled their wines. Riesling was great! Played golf at the local course nearby as well. Highly recommend.

A wonderful place to relax and unwind, such an easy drive from Melbourne but seemed so far away from the hustle and bustle.
The cottages are warm, light and comfortable. The breakfast was an excellent touch and the kitchen well equipped allowing us to stay in and enjoy the beautiful cottage.
The proximity of the cellar door was particularly enjoyable, the staff are so welcoming and the wood fired pizzas are superb. An easy drive to surrounding wineries, cafes and nature walks. Highly recommend.

Hello Allson, I don't know what else to say - you've said it all for me! I think I may use your words in an advertising blurb. Thank you for your lovely 5-star review and you are so right - so close to Melbourne, yet so far away. Glad you enjoyed the breakfast and the cellar door. I'm very proud of the staff at GPW and I share all reviews with them. They also take great pride in our property, presentation and food and wine. Hope to see you again. Barbara

Arrived at lunchtime and sat on the deck in the sunshine overlooking the lake and we enjoyed tasting the wines while enjoying a pizza. The waitresses and the reception hostess were very friendly and helpful. We then drove up to the cottages at the top of the hill thro the vineyard where rabbits and colourful birds were seen. The cottage had every convenience that we needed and after a siesta we drove into the nearby town of Gisborne for a walk around before dinner at the Victoria Hotel. The quietness of the Gisborne Peak Winery Cottages overnight is great and the only sound in the morning was a tractor working in the vineyard. The breakfast food and drink was much more than we needed and the 11 am checkout time was easy to achieve. We thoroughly enjoyed our overnight and we will go back and use the cottages as a base when we will explore more of the local vineyards

Great introduction to my cottage was the thoughtful heating and lighting on with music playing on arrival. The scene was set for a very quiet and peaceful few days amongst the vines. Breakfast was a hamper style with plenty of supplies for the two days. The location was ideal for exploring Kyneton, Mt Macedon, Hanging Rock and surrounding attractions. The cottage had lots of information to assist in planning an itinerary. Will be back soon.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay in Peppermint Gum ecolodge at the Gisborne Peak Winery. On arrival, we received a friendly welcome by Sue and Barbara.
The drive through the vines to the cottages was part of the experience. The cottage consisted of a living/meals/kitchen area, a separate queen bedroom and a bathroom. There was undercover parking attached to the cottage. The well-presented accommodation was immaculately clean, cosy and comfortable. The heating was warm during our winter stay and air-conditioning is available in summer. It was interesting to read about the eco elements of the cottage as well as the power generation and sewerage disposal systems. The views from the cottage over the vines and beyond added to our relaxation and enjoyment.
We enjoyed our visits to Kyneton, Woodend, Macedon, Mt Macedon, Gisborne and New Gisborne. Each town well worth a visit. There is a strong focus in the area on local arts and wine, as well as many beautiful landscapes including Hanging Rock. However many galleries were only open on weekends and some from Thursday to Sunday.
I recommend Gisborne Peak winery and ecolodges. We are sure you will enjoy your time on the property. Don't forget to visit the cellar door to taste the wine, deliciously smooth reds and whites.
