Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed here last night. Asked the guy at the front desk when I arrived for recommendations for dinner and breakfast as the restaurant they have onsite was closed. He directed me to the local pub for dinner because he was a chef there and said to just go down the Main Street for breakfast and I will find something. Super helpful. Realised late last night that there was no hot water, attempted to call the after hours number twice and it wasn’t answered. Called a further 5 times this morning before finally getting a call back as I was leaving. I was told nobody else had made complaints and they would need to check before getting back to me. I have called back 6 times on different breaks during work today and have gotten through to a worker who has told me nobody had hot water last night, but I left before they could talk to me and offer me a $50 refund on the $166 room. $116 for a room with no hot water when the temperature got below 10c overnight is ridiculous. I am still yet to hear from the manager directly after 13 total phone calls for any refunds or apology.

Nothing flash but clean. Stayed in a room with a queen and double bed, both beds had ckean sheets. Bathroom- Shower had not the best pressure and had plastic shower curtain. Room was dated but it was clean and had a good nights sleep. Easy check out.

Excellent location to explore the area around Wilsons Promontory and wider Gippsland. The Lodge (to be honest it's an upscale motel) has an onsite restaurant which serves reasonably tasty and filling, but not exciting food. Which is a good option, if like us, you've spent the day exploring the area. The room was spacious, the linen clean and fresh. The bathroom although spacious had an open shower which saw water go everywhere. Bed was comfortable. Although it is on the highway it is set back from the road and the rooms are quiet. I will note, my partner asked about seeing wildlife in the immediate area and the staff, although slightly surprised, were more than willing to assist for what was a slightly left of centre request. So full marks for them!

Good, clean and basic accomodation only a short drive to the entrance of Wilsons Promontory. Pity the chef was unwell and the restaurant was therefore closed for the night otherwise a comfortable stay.

A comfortable room that was clean and well maintained. Facilities in the room to make a hot drink and microwave if needed. Large wall mounted television. Max’s cafe, part of the motel served surprisingly good food for breakfast and dinner. The surrounding bush and gardens make the location a very peaceful place to stay. While out of town Foster is close by. Would recommend.

Thought we'd hit the jackpot when we walked into our room to find a massive spa next to the bed, but we're very quickly heart broken to find the spa had been decommissioned. Room was large and bed very comfy, huge TV with Netflix access, good lighting, big windows looking over ferns. Bathroom small and old but clean as a whistle and easy to navigate. Great spot.

Good motel overall, clean, parking, large rooms, clean and easy check-in process. We had a late booking, and the motel was full, but all good. We all slept well and there was nothing to really complain about. It would be 5 stars but I cannot abide shower curtains in motels ... they are really not hygienic especially when they stick to you :-( or your kids .... so for that, please get rid of them ! Our room was on the road, but not much traffic at night so all good.

We stayed 2 nights at Prom Country Lodge and would definitely recommend it. We could easily get to Wilsons Promontory for the day and it was good to come back to comfortable beds and quiet hotel. The best part of our stay was the restaurant attached to the hotel.. what a find! Such amazing quality food, we had dinner both nights and the meals were delicious. I had calamari and salad the first night and home cooked butter chicken the second night, excellent quality. The service was also excellent. We would recommend Prom Country Lodgr to anyone and we will definitely come back for another stay and more delicious dinners!

Queen room "with garden views" when all we saw was our car parked outside. No crockery or utensils, apart from coffee mugs, were provided so we were unable to use the toaster or microwave. It cost 50% more than our previous stay in Paynesville in a room twice the size!
