Having breakfast at George's cafe on site
We called in to ask for a ground floor as we were staying there for one night that afternoon. Wonderful we were told we could have the key now at 9.20am.
A sigh of relief we returned to the Flinders Hotel and packed. The rooms are so quiet
beds fantastic for sleeping, nice two pillows each. Fridge, kettle, toaster a TV
That worked as hotel one did not.
Back door which had wire for that nice sea breeze and seating for two enclosed so your own space. They have a pool we did not use it but it looked OK. BBQ area with seating.
And best of all late checkout which we needed after visiting the many wineries
On the beautiful Mornington peninsula

The Flinders Cove Motor Inn is centrally located in the tourist town of Flinders on the Mornington Peninsula, near Melbourne.
It must be about 40 years old and was showing its age somewhat when my partner and I stayed overnight. It seemed well maintained but attention to detail seemed a little lacking. There were lots of leaves, etc., around the building and it looked like a long time since there'd been a decent sweep.
The check in process was a little strange and very casual. The man at the reception was somewhat quirky and did not wear a mask; compulsory in Victoria at the time of out visit. The same applied at check out.
The room was quiet and in good condition.
Flinders Cove Motor Inn is not cheap.
There is a cafe restaurant next door and it was well patronised for a Thursday morning.
We had chosen to stay rather than returning to Melbourne after visiting friends at Flinders.

Wonderful accommodation, generous sized room. Everything including TV and remote etc. It's a older type motel with exposed bricks but it offers great view located on the 1st floor. The staff who are employed there look happy. And guess what it is cheap. I was not my intention but it is centrally located, across the road from Flinders Hotel (must visit, amazing gin selection). It's a quick walk to the pier and close to all shops

Stayed in Flinders for a wedding recently. The Flinders Cove Motor Inn was booked weeks before for $130 per night for 2 nights. When we arrived we were charged $160 per night. When mentioned the quoted price I was told this wasnt true. The host was not apologetic and made me feel like I was trying to manipulate her into a lower price. Unfortunately with no where else to stay we had to pay this price. The following day friends arrived and same thing happened to them. They booked a room for $145 per night and were charged $175. This behaviour is deplorable and I will never stay here again and in future I will request written quotes from such places. They know what they are doing because accommodation is limited in this town. I have read another review with same issue and these guys need to be reported.
The rooms are old and shabby. The reception aeea is dirty , cluttered and you are met at the door by a large but placid dog (could easily concern non dog lovers)

I really regretted staying in Flinders and booking this hotel the moment I arrived at the hotel site. The exterior looks rundown, especially with the posh looking Flinders Hotel opposite. The room was old and dusty looking with broken furnitures. Even though there were plates, cups and cutleries in the cupboard, it didn't feel clean enough to be used. The room has 2 floors, but the upper floor was hot and dusty with lots of funny insects around. The ceiling for the upper floor was low, hence, we did not even dare to turn it on. The toilet was dimly lit.

This place was really nice and clean. Very retro like 80s scarface style :)
It had a good vibe and feel to it and not bad price. Big beds, cool shower I would recommend this place to anyone :)

We booked based on a recommendation from the Information Bureau but upon arrival (after speaking also with owners prior) were charged $60 more than quoted. Owner was rude over phone and in person and refused to accept any ownership over incorrect quote. Horrible service so we will not be back again.

We stayed in a family room which was fantastic for the 5 of us that stayed at the Motel. Bedding downstairs & upstairs on the mezzanine were comfortable with plenty of extra blankets provided. Motel is in a great location within walking distance from all of Flinders attractions. Service was great and was the perfect place to stay for our weekend away with friends.

We pre booked this hotel and are very satisfied. Great location in the center of Flinders (but quite) and in a old fashion (but functional and clean) style motel. Nice host, friendly coffees and restaurant and just a little walk to the pier and golf course. If the mattresses (common problem in most places) would be a bit (newer) stiffer - it would be a 5 out of 5.

We stayed January. I haven't read the latest reviews but if I was in flinders again I'd stay. I'd prob check whether another room had a better bed but the location is good.
