We stayed at the Park for a BBQ get together with friends, our two night stay was very comfortable. The small cabins are cosy and well equipped with all you need including a full size stove and a couple of bunks if you have young children. Most importantly the double bed was comfortable. The park is positioned in one of the most beautiful country areas one could imagine, there's plenty of places to visit as well. I would highly recommend Eildon Pondage caravan and camping park for anyone looking to enjoy a great weekend away, the park is well maintained and rates represent great value for money. Mary Ann and Stephen.

The staff at check in/out out, and when booking, were some of the best I have ever dealt with at a caravan park. Friendly, happy and eager to have a chat and assist with queries. When we visited the front office throughout the stay we were greeted with smiles and welcomes as soon as we walked in. Were always greeted with smiles from staff when they were working in the park too.
The park is set up great with the BBQ area in sight of the pool area and chess board, down the slope was the volleyball and mini golf (free). TV provided for BBQ area too that was a bonus, and fridges in BBQ area for keeping our salads (or couple of beers) cold too. The park was certainly not too busy and although a peak period it was not noisy or overcrowded. Kids had a ball riding bikes around the park as it is pretty flat and can also get access to the pondage easily too. Short walk to town of less than a km, Can walk to view dam wall and spillway too (steep walk), close to boat ramp to launch boat. The cabin we booked (Rosella) was pretty small but as we spent time on the lake or with friends in BBQ area this was not a concern. Kids loved the boat style bunk beds and used the third bunk as a cubby house, fun times! Spoke to staff and arranged a mini bus pick up and drop off for local pub for dinner (10-15 min drive) which was pleasant. Ticks all round, hard to suggest any areas for improvement.

My husband is a lower leg amputee
We stayed in a cabin the door into the bedroom was too narrow bathroom was barely adequate, step into the cabin was narrow front door was barely wide enough and no ramp.
Light in the bedroom did not work.
Staff at the front desk were helpful as were the ground staff who filled in the big puddle in front of our cabin and returned the next day to see how he was coping

We drove almost 3 hours on a hot 35 degrees day to find we could not go inside at reception but instead had to book in via a sliding window. It took a slow 20 minutes. We could not get the boom gate to open even though reception said our code was activated and ready. My wife had to go back and eventually we got in.
We drove to the cabin (the furthest away from reception) and found we were not given a key. I drove part way and walked the rest to request a key and was offered an impolite ‘sorry’ and after I made a comment it was very hot to walk back they turned away with a ‘ he’s not happy because he had to walk’. Bad vibes from the very start.
The Banksia Villa cabin is top of the range and very expensive. The cabin is very good – spacious, well set out, nice view, good equipment and very clean (well done to the cleaner – even the blades of the ceiling fan were clean! ). However, the hot water is BOILING hot so be very careful using the kitchen tap, bathroom basin and shower. The temperature cannot be adjusted. This is definitely a safety issue! And, the supply of cutlery and crockery is the bare minimum. The kitchen light switch takes 20—25 seconds before the light actually comes on. Unfortunately cabins are located close to the houseboat building factory on the other side of the road and they seem to start at 7.00am and we had 1 day with a lot of wake up noise !
This is the first caravan/holiday park we have been to in the last 4 years that we would NOT recommend.

Hi BriankU8225BN, Thank you for taking the time to give us a review. The sliding window is a system we use to minimise minimal contact with the office - By way of social distancing we are trying to keep our staff and customers safe as covid cases continue to grow. Sometimes the boomgates do not communicate with the computer when access codes are generated - We are working on getting this retified to ensure this issue does not happen again. We are pleased you were happy with the cleaniness of our cabin, although we wished you would of notified us of your concerns of the hot water and maintenance issues when you were here so we could of rectified this for you straight away. We did have a water system services a couple of weeks ago and it was working correctly. Unfortunately the noise from the houseboat factory across the road is out of our control, we will try our best to get in contact with them and raise our concerns. We are disappointed you didn't have a good experience with us and we sincerely hope to see you again soon.

We had stayed previously at the park when regional we’re lucky enough to be able to escape and travel and loved it. Although when we decided to return again a few weeks later once restrictions had eased it was very very different. The shop was tapped off and the pool was only open for 1 hour per day as we needed a Covid Marshall. While I completely understand these were rules bought in which the park had no control over, a simple phone call to let us know would have been appreciated. We had disappointed kids who just wanted to have a swim when the days were hot. I did mention this to the park caretaker who replied with “ohh we are just too busy to call people to tell them about the changes” I found this comment to be untrue as they had the time to call me 3 times for payment!!! I was originally told just to pay on arrival as we had been there before but the day prior to arrival they called 3 times asking for payment. I told them I was at work and didn’t have my card details and would call back once I had finished. I would go back as it’s a great place but the lack of communication needs improving.

Hi megandunster82, We have directive from our caravan and camping bodies regarding pool. We are working closely with them to get the marshaling removed. We are disappointed this impeded a little bit on your stay. The office is closed off and we requested payment prior to arrival to keep our team and clients safe to make it as contactless as possible. We appreciate your feedback and will take your suggestion on board - We look forward to seeing you again soon.

Wouldnt recommend to anyone. Horrible service & an extream lack of compassion. Discussed accommodation booking over the phone, all sorted was a great experience. Arrived at night after a 9hr drive to be told we haven't booked enough room and wouldn't allow all our cars on the property. Called the manager and explained our situation.
She explained we would have to leave our cars unprotected in the carpark and carry all out belongings to the camp site at the other side of the park.
Manager was Extremely rude on the phone when trying to organise the miscommunication & had to stay at another caravan park.
Returned in the morning for a refund and was initially denied, called a liar and spoken to on loud speaker infront of other guest unprofessionally.
After this "delighfully embarrassing" conversation I was in tears, left about to the property without my $240 refund. Another member of our group continued to speak with the manager who finally after 1 hr agreed to a full refund.

Great getaway for a few days park was quiet and not crowded everything you needed close to hand.
Fishing was good and the views fantastic would recommend it as a short term break a bit of peace and quiet and some fresh air.
Amenities are old but clean and the park was well maintained.

The caravan park is in a great position.
Right at the water’s edge for fishing, minutes away from the lake & boat ramp and the facilities for cooking right next to the pool so the kids can stay cool while you cook and watch some big screen TV is fantastic for some peace and quiet.
Be back soon.

Campsite fires are all the go ... you can do your own thing, or hire barrels and purchase wood from camp office ... great for toasting marshmallows. It is not pet friendly in the cabins but might be for the campsites.

Hi Lal P, yes we have plenty of lovely shady camping sites, both powered and unpowered at Eildon Pondage Holiday Park. We also have some lovely spots along the banks of the pondage. If you want any help in booking a site please call Jeanette or Kerryn in the office on 1800 651691.
