Erin and Geoff made us feel so welcome right from the booking process through to checkout. They were so friendly, we felt we had known them for years. We stayed on a powered site for 6 nights in March, although we had only originally booked to attend a nearby wedding on the weekend. Erin showed us our campsite to ensure we were happy with our position, then we were free to come and go as it suited us.
The facilities, although not modern, were spotless. As mentioned in other posts, freshly laundered bathmats were supplied daily for showers, plus a host of other items such as individual tubes of shampoo & conditioner, tissues, sanitary products etc. In the camp kitchen, tea, coffee etc were supplied along with the usual fitout of cooking facilities, electric kettle, fridge etc. Nearby was a vegie garden where guests were invited to help themselves, but with a request for a small cash donation
to go towards further seeds. A fire pit was also located in this area for guests'use with barrow loads of wood available for sale for a modest amount.
The park, although not large was ample for our needs, where we were not smack against neighbouring campers. The grounds were tidy and well cared for, with numerous trees ( but not massive ones), so we had sunlight and shade through different times of the day. The park is located almost in the centre of the town with several cafes and a couple of restaurants within just a few minutes walk and the local tourist information centre would only be about 2 or 300 metres away. There is a park across the road with a children's playground and a pleasant treed area with seats, a great spot to eat the delicious cone ice cream purchased from the nearby cafe.
The Arboretum which is a well loved feature of Dunkeld, almost butts onto the park and is a lovely spot for a stroll. Dunkeld is
located about 30km from Hamilton and is at the southernmost tip of the Grampians. During our stay we drove to nearby Mt
Sturgeon which we hiked (a three hour return trip, but so worth it) and another day we drove to Hall's Gap, about an hour
away located in the central area of the Grampians.
We hope to return again to Dunkeld caravan park again soon, this time to hike up Mt Abrupt which is also nearby.
The only drawback is that although there is a speed restriction in the area, the noise from the many trucks driving through town is quite loud, but with which we soon became accustomed.

A pleasant place to stop if you are doing the cheap travelling thing. The only caravan park that I have ever stayed at that has toiletries and provides clean shower mats instead of just a tile floor (shower was excellent too). Grassy shady sites (some level) available on the north paddock (across the little bridge). You do get passing truck noise during the night so you may want to wear earplugs.

Upon arriving at the Dunkeld caravan park as part of our “ support regional Vic “ caravan trip, we were greeted by the manager who could not have been more welcoming and helpful, the park is very pretty and very well maintained and the amenities although older were extremely clean and tidy and offered lovely complimentary touches not previously found in other parks, such as shower mats and hand creams which were greatly appreciated. And When we needed advice on activities in the area, they were more than happy to offer maps and information about the region which we found extremely useful and very much appreciated .

Given victorians are being encouraged to get out and support our regional and rural neighbours “post lockdown”, we were very disappointed to find that most of the Dunkeld businesses were shutdown having mid week breaks, cafes hotels and more importantly the tourist information centre were all shut!!! Surely our small businesses has been closed long enough ?

thankfully the lovely crew at the caravan park went above and beyond offering a great service ( when others weren’t available) to those of us out there touring around trying to support our beautiful state.

We had a delightful stay at the Dunkeld caravan park and will certainly be back...Thankyou .

We set up our vans in lovely shady spots and stayed four days. On our first day, New Year's Eve, the wonderful hosts invited everyone in the park to a free BBQ, providing wine and desserts as well! Grounds are very pretty, and herbs and vegetables freely available (suggested gold coin donation for new seedlings). Facilities are clean and there are some eccentric decorative touches. We particularly enjoyed the free games; darts, quoits and corn hole (look it up).

We had a wonderful 2 night stay at Dunkeld Caravan Park. The grounds are well maintained and cared for and the sites are a generous size. The amenities are very clean and thoughtful touches have been added such as bath mats and a hair dryer.
Well equipped camp kitchen too. It's a short walk to the shops and cafes. Great spot to base yourself to explore the southern Grampians.

Dunkeld Caravan Park is a lovely place to stay with tent, Caravan, Van or trailer. Next to the arboretum with a lot of wildlife the owners have created a lovely site with a tremendous eye for detail. We will definitely return!

Great park. Well maintained and caretakers are welcoming. Amenities are well looked after which is a bonus. Guests can pick from the vegie garden ( and orchard is developing too). Easy walk into town and walking tracks near by. Worth a few nights stay. We were on a powered site but there is unpowered and cabins.

Best Caravan Park I have ever stayed at. The people running it were amazing, the ammenities were old but you could not fault them. Where else are you welcome to use fruit, vegetables and herds grown on the premises? It has the best camp kitchen I’ve ever come across, rustic but clean and everything available.
All you need to pack before you leave home is your clothes, food and toothbrush & toothpaste. Everything else supplied.

We just spent three nights at Dunkeld Caravan Park in a cabin (4 adults) and was $110 per couple. This may have been because it was a special weekend to celebrate their Government Award. However the sign out the front says $28 for powered site $20 for unpowered site. Hope that helps OssieKe
