We had a 3 night stay here before joining family in Ballarat and we really enjoyed it, the room was nicely decorated and spacious and to say the resort was busy we hardly heard any noise. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean, we opted not to get our room serviced which gave us 2 x $10 credit to use at the bar downstairs.
Breakfast was great with plenty of staff clearing tables and refilling the buffet.
We had dinner in the Bistro 2 nights, the Magarita pizza I had was delicious and the Salt and Pepper Calamari was equally as nice.
We enjoyed going for a walk on the Kangaroo trail to watch the Kangaroos grazing.
We didn't have chance to try the pool or other facilities but would definitely stay her again. A few minutes in the car takes you into Creswick which has an IGA Supermarket and several places to eat or get takeaway.

Stayed for 4 nights at the Resort. Were not sure what to expect. It exceeded out expectations.
Fairway suite was delightful and spacious. The toiletries were more than above average and kitchenette [which we did not use] was well appointed with cutlery and crockery. Excellent if you were a family with little ones.
The reception staff are polite and friendly.
The Restaurant at the bar covers the family favourites; well cooked and proudly presented. The Mexican Pizza was delightful;with a thin charred crust. The fish and chips - hearty.
The Harvest Restaurant served some very good meals for dinner with the Chef taking an artistic bent to his/her presentations.
A couple of simple mistakes; two glasses of wine being charged as two bottles; were quickly rectified.
Breakfast has a good spread. Excellent croissants.
Though one small hiccup; when i asked for a mug to make my coffee in; it was not forthcoming; only a cup. Mugs were available over at the barista station; but would not be parted with!!!
A mug was eventually brought to me by the Maitre d'; who was apologetic.
A nice touch in the "green" stakes was the offer of NOT Cleaning the room for a day and a credit voucher being added to your account.
Over all a very pleasant stay and well situated to take in Ballarat and Daylesford.

We spent two nights here in late April (our second visit) and, once again, the place was first class. Seamless check-in and friendly staff. There is a nice bar and the restaurant (one evening meal and two breakfasts) was really good food and attentive service. They now serve breakfast behind a buffet bar (limited self serve) and it really works and is much more efficient and sanitary. The location is great, Creswick is a really nice town and very central to further exploration of the region.

Stayed here for four nights with my family and a friend.
Seeing property is nestled uphill the car park was a three tiered uphill trek. Not kid, elderly or disabled friendly. Quite tiring after a long day in the heat.
We stayed in the two bedroom option with a balcony overlooking the golf course. Great view!
First impressions were the room was very clean, two bedroom, two bathroom, kitchenette, lounge area and dining area.
A couple of practical issues occurred; there was no storage space for foldable clothes, plenty of wardrobe space for hanging albeit not enough hangers.
Another issue was the bathrooms the main bathroom with he spa was adjacent to the smaller bedroom where the larger master bedroom had a small ensuite bathroom.
The small bathroom had no storage space and hardly any vanity area for a family of three it was not easy. I stored our toiletries in our side tables next to the bed.
The larger bathroom which our friend had, had lots of vanity space and a wall mountable hairdryer...the smaller bathroom had no hairdryer which is hard in the mornings when everyone is using their own bathroom.
The kitchenette was basic, sink, microwave and mini fridge.....endless wasted cupboard space for cups etc.

The property itself besides the rooms is small. The pool is tiny and not able to accommodate the amount of people able to stay at the resort. During school holidays it was constantly full of people and kids.
To get to and from the pool area you need to walk through the resorts main restaurant albeit alongside a small waist high partition but still awkward doing so in a towel and bathers.
Breakfast was adequate but could be improved. Hot food was lukewarm to cold. Some of the lids on the cloches had disappeared which does nothing for food temperature. There is cereal, fruit, yogurt and pancakes also available along with some cheese and ham. Coffee, tea and fruit juices are on offer.
The restaurant was hot with the morning sun hitting the windows no air conditioning it seems and the room was dimly lit with the smell of chlorine from the pool next door. It was depressing.
Get in early because once it's busy its hard to get to the items you want without having to walk into people or ask people to move to get something as simple as butter.
Overall it's an adequate place to stay if your expectations are not high. Compared to the other RACV resorts this one is not up to par.
It's fine for an overnight stay but for a long stay holiday not so much. At least upgrade the pool size!

Dear jaida23, Thank you very much for your review, we appreciate the feedback you have shared with us. We understand the feedback you have shared in regards to the car park experience. We have recently undertaken works to enhance the experience by adding 2 additional pick-up/drop-off spots at the top of the Resort and we are also adding a path that will link from the lower car park to the top. We are sorry that the configuration of the 2 bedroom suite didn't meet your needs, your feedback in invaluable and will be something that we do review in the coming weeks. We do understand the feedback regarding the Restaurant. This is a significant focus for our Resort and is an area we are addressing at the current time. We are undertaking a significant refurbishment which will enhance the flow of the buffet for our guests, remove the issue with pool access and dining in one space and significant enhance the capacity of the venue which will make for a more enjoyable dining experience. We do hope that we have an opportunity to welcome you back in the future so that you can enjoy the property improvements we are undertaking. Kind regards Martin

We have just spent five nights at this beautiful family resort.
The staff have gone above and beyond and have made us feel very safe with Covid precautions.

We have been blown away by the changes this resort has made and how they have adapted to the covid situation.

The restaurant has been refurbished and a beautiful outdoor dining area has been erected.

Family is their number one focus at this place. The morning starts with family breakfast set menus and then onto school holiday program Kelly sports.

The pool has now got an attendant who hands the children icy poles after their swim and the area is constantly cleaned. Numbers are limited in the pool area and you need to book a place.

Each night a family movie is shown for everyone to watch. This was wonderful for the kids.

They also had a food caravan pop
Up each night. Pizza pop up was one night then paella, fish n chips etc.

We have just had such a wonderful time and will be back again. We don’t even have to leave the resort anymore.

Special mention to the Operations manager who has talked to us every day. He was absolutely lovely and was working so hard night and day looking after everyone.

I have never stayed anywhere where the staff learn your names and greet you every time you see them.

We have stayed here many times but this visit was by far our best.

We are Club members who visit all resorts on a regular basis, sometimes with grandkids in school holidays. This was our fifth visit to Goldfields. I note a few reviews say that Goldfields lacks some of the amenities available at the other resorts. That is a fair comment, but if you had stayed at Goldfields a month after R.A.C.V assumed control of the Resort just a few years ago you would appreciate the millions of dollars spent on upgrading the facilities.

The reason we keep returning to Goldfields is simply this: while staff at all resorts are good the staff at Goldfields are magnificent. A special mention for Felicity, one of the friendliest most welcoming receptionists we have ever seen. Another reason is the standard of the dining room, now completely refurbished. I love the duck confit, and the Venison pie with herbed mash and a stunning chutney is inspired.
The only other R.A.C.V Resort that can match that ,but at eye watering prices and heaps of pretension, is nameless but located on the Mornington Peninsula.

Leah in the dining room gave the four of us outstanding service. Nothing was too much trouble. The a la carte dining for all meals was excellent with breakfasts being superb, so much so we didn't miss the buffet. Social distancing during the pandemic was well managed and never a problem.

It was with great sadness we learned of the code three lockdown for Melbourne suburbs which caused the Resort to shut down. We were not sorry four us, but for the magnificent staff and management of this constantly improving resort.

I visit RACV resorts regularly and this is the worst of them all. A few of the staff who stand out are the females on reception otherwise wow poor. There is no consistent approach. The place was like an old people home and was atmosphere less. The food and drinks are very poor. We ordered steak which came rare when we ordered medium rare. It was dry and Poorly presented. We compared to the Restaurant Managet, who adopts a very 1980s approach to customer experience and actually argues back. He thought giving 2 beers we had ordered complimentary compensated for paying for an uneaten steak double the price.

We paid to upgrade as the standard room was small and basic. This was our balcony. Absolutely disgusting. I didn't allow my little girl outside. Bird nests and bird poo everywhere.

Disappointed seeing as I'm a single parent who is desperate for relaxation and the resort didn't quite tick any of the required boxes. Would chose to stay elsewhere.

Dear kerryyoung1, We are sincerely sorry to hear about poor experience with us. We do pride ourselves on delivering a great stay for our guests but clearly on this occasion we have fallen short. In regards to your dining experience, I have followed up with our team and have also readdressed this issue with our Head Chef. Our team is very apologetic that you didn't find the resolution suitable when they discussed it with you. In regards to the balcony cleanliness of your room, our Housekeeping Manager has reviewed this and taken the necessary steps to address your comments. We are sorry to hear that you won't be staying with us in the future but do hope that you continue to stay at our other RACV locations. Kind regards Martin

We had a short stay at this hotel as we were staying nearby at Sebel Creswick and extended our stay to visit the excellent Creswick Market.

Our room was the basic room which overlooked the car park and towards Midland Highway. As with all RACV Resorts the property and room are very well maintained ,clean and modern. Our bathroom even had a spa bath.

Location is great to explore the local areas of Ballarat, Trentham, Clunes, and Daylesford.

Creswick town has 2 pubs a supermarket, chemist, bakery and a few cafes and restaurants. I highly recommend the Odessa @ Leaver Hotel Wine Bar which has entertainment, serves Thai Food and has an excellent beer and wine list. Its set in a renovated old gold rush building

However I highly recommend eating in Ballarat at Meigas (Spanish) and Moon and mountain (Asian Fusion) They also have some trendy bars/wine bars like Aunty Jack, Hop Temple and the lovely Mitchell and Harris Wine Bar.

We had a very good stay but couldnt give a full 5 star rating due to noise. Our room was located near the truck loading dock and in the very early hours of the morning there was a truck making deliveries which was extremely noisy. This woke up and disturbed both my wife and my sleep that night., We paid good money to stay in a hotel that was quiet and to get some good rest.

Please beware of the rooms facing the car park as early morning deliveries may be an issue.

I did write an earlier review and was quite harsh. After discussions with staff and management, I have removed my previous review and will re post.

This is a lovely resort, nothing changed. We stayed 9 days and in hindsight may have been to long as I feel the resort caters well for weekends and long weekends. The restaurant has nice signature dishes although for lengthy stays, limited choices.

We did have problems with pay for movies although this was not important to us, what was important was the fact staff never responded to our queries on two different issues.

Once management found out it was handled very professionally with apologies. One staff member (Felicity) went above and beyond to ensure we were taken care of. That was fantastic.

All staff there are extremely friendly, what a pleasure to deal with smiling, happy people. Maybe it's the country air, something cities could learn.

Not sure of gentleman's title, but restaurant manager, who worked extremely long hours was always polite, cheerful, said hello and went out of his way to ask us how we were.

We would stay there again although not for 9 days, more like 4. Have already convinced family members to try it out (they are from Melbourne, us from Brisbane) for the food, friendliness, golf and a little fishing when the time is right.

Thanks to Operation Manager for his assistance.

Was an extremely busy and full car park upon arrival. People playing golf using the same car park as hotel guests left guest driving around searching for a park at the bottom of the 3 tear hill. Check in was great and rooms ready on arrival. Spacious room, however Kitchette was full of empty. Cupboards bar a few cups etc. - not even a jug for water and no mini bar. Due to renovations which I think will be great when finalised, we were unable to get a table in the restaurant at a reasonable meal time. Dinning in the bar was full of kids running around and screaming. Not very calming for guests who don’t have kids, but understand they have to eat somewhere. No where else locally to eat so not much choice. The cosmos we ordered were not very nicely made and did not have cranberry juice in them. They were almost clear! At $18 each they should have been made with cranberry juice. Movies were on for the kids ( great idea) however I could hear the movie from my room. ( not so great). Breakfast was nice, although I was confused as to where to place my plate when lifting the lid of the hot food on the Buffett and selecting items and putting on the plate. There was no bench space. Quiet dangerous I imagine when the Buffett is busy. It was a long weekend , very busy and alterations at the hotel were going on. I think it would be more peaceful once the Reno’s are finished . Would stay here again if working in the area, but wood book for dinner at time of booking accommodation.
