Detailed Reviews
We Wish to congratulate our hosts for such high quality of service . The place is really relaxing , cozy , ...being honest nothing missed . Lot of attention is given to small details which made our stay even more enjoyable .
The house is beautifully entwined and respects the charm of the ancient time we have enjoyed this atmosphere a little outdated . it reminded me of the house of my childhood.
On top of that we have particularly appreciated the excellent breakfast prepared by our host .
We recommend this relaxing halt in your journey in the region .
However beside this , nothing much to do in the town . For restaurants , preferable to go to next city .

We appreciate you sharing your Heytesbury House experience, anuszka13. It is disappointing to us that there isn't a restaurant within Cobden itself, but hope that the 10 minute drive to Camperdown enabled you to see more of this wonderful region. To help our future guests we are working on inhouse dining, and hope that if you are in the region again, that you will give that a try. Hoping that you enjoyed the rest of your holiday. Kathryn & Andrew

After a day trip visiting the places on the 12 Apostles Artisan Food Trail, I treated myself to one night at the Heytesbury House B&B.
I was impressed by the house and hosts, Andrew and Kathryn.
All the descriptions on here were accurate.
I stayed in the Naylor Suite. Pure luxury! Lovely comfy bed with beautiful bed linen, a corner bath and shower, a bath robe, soft towels. Plus, tea and coffee facilities, a fridge and TV/ DVD player.
I had bought some dinner with me, so Andrew supplied a plate, knife, fork and spoon. There was also a small table and two chairs. My only gripe was the fact that the lovely looking chairs were extremely hard; I had to put a pillow on one, when I was eating my dinner.
It was a muggy day, so I sat outside, on a comfy cane chair, on my shared verandah (I think I was the only quest that night) and had a drink, soaking up the lovely garden atmosphere.
I’ve read on the reviews, how everyone loved their breakfast, well I didn’t.
But overall, it is a lovely house and I would recommend it to everyone.

How wonderful is the region, not to mention all the fabulous producers along the Artisan Food Trail? We feel truly blessed to be central to amazing natural wonders, and love it when our guests explore the hinterland region as well as the coast. Thank you for taking the time to review your stay, and it sounds like you really enjoyed the peace and tranquility of our amazing historic property. I'm sorry you didn't love the breakfast, and would really appreciate further feedback from you on how you feel it could have been improved. We are always looking to grow, and can only do so with the help of those experiencing our offerings. We do hope to see you again soon. Kathryn & Andrew

Beautiful historic property with everything you could want and more. Rooms were large and beautifully decorated, gardens were well maintained and we were able to enjoy afternoon tea on the verandah viewing the gardens. Highly recommend!

My husband and I are very interested in history and that is something this B & B has in spades! We wanted to stay somewhere special for our anniversary and Heytesbury House did not disappoint. It was dark by the time we arrived so to be met at the door by Andrew with a welcoming smile was perfect. Immediately we felt welcome. All the pertinent Covid rules were followed here. Although it had been a very cold, windy day the house was warm and as we were shown to our accommodation, the Naylor Suite, the heat was right through the house and we soon began to relax. The bed was super comfortable and the bed linen superior which always makes me feel special. There was much to choose from at breakfast the next day beautifully prepared by Kathryn. There is much to see and do in the area. We had lunch booked at Timboon Distillery the next day where we also had whisky tastings and purchased a bottle of their “Christies Cut” variety. The Great Ocean Road is a half hour drive away with all that has to offer. All in all a perfect stay!

We've greatly enjoyed our 2-nights stay at Heytesbury House. Kathryn & Andrew's welcome was warm, friendly and made us feel at home immediately. The room was very large, the bathroom even larger and all amenities provided. We appreciated the living room with a glas of port wine and the excellent and generous breakfast. Heytesbury House is a very quiet and comfortable place to enjoy some time away from the main touristic spots. We definitively recommend this place!

It's wonderful to hear that you enjoyed your stay away from the craziness of the coast during the peak holiday period. That's we love about this little piece of paradise. Close enough to enjoy the wonderful Great Ocean Road, whilst having a peaceful oasis to escape to at the end of the day. We hope you enjoyed the rest of your Australian holiday experience. Comfortable and clean stay. Breakfast options were good. It was a great treat being able to sit down to a cooked breakfast in the morning, just outside the door to our suite with two bedrooms including private courtyard, whilst enjoying the lovely outside views from the beautiful dining room. The communal living room next to the dining room was great, full of a fantastic range of games, dvds and books. Shady gardens with large old trees provided photo opportunities.

A gorgeous home with plenty of character and interesting history. We stayed in the Naylor room- beautifully appointed, with verandah access and a lovely large bathroom with big double bathtub. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was delicious, with options to suit everyone. The communal sitting room has plenty of books, dvds and games and the hosts are very welcoming and Happy to help with any requests. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay here!

Lower Western Victoria is replete with highly regarded tourist destinations, the Great Ocean Road being the clichéd route to the region. May I humbly suggest the the inland route is by far the superior choice. Small towns that emanate real character and charm, really brilliant food, and vistas that beg to be photographed. One of these towns is Cobden, and its indisputable gem is Heytesbury House. Having travelled the world and stayed in all imaginable residences, I was genuinely struck by the sheer beauty of the property, and more importantly the sheer hospitality of the operators. Kathryn was welcoming, warm and utterly professional. The amenities are beyond reproach and the general experience one receives should be an exemplar to all B&Bs in the country.
To say that I was pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. Sincere thanks to Heytesbury House for an exceptional stay.

+1
Nestled in the Western District is this remarkable home that used to be a private hospital. Surrounded by botanical gardens and featuring rooms of a by gone era it is pure luxury and opulence.
The hosts Kathryn and Andrew are very welcoming and full of information about the local area. Breakfast is an absolute treat.
A great base to explore the Great Ocean road and surrounds. I shall return.
