Wow, what an amazing weekend.

Photos and details on the internet do no do this place justice, it is fantastic! Huge, clean, beautiful....everything we needed and more.

Commercial kitchen is great and the breakfast provisions were plentiful & delicious. More than ample fridge space & large ovens/cooktops.

Bedrooms (all with ensuites) are all large and warm. Heating in the house was great, kept warm and cosy on a cold July weekend.

Sebastian is a great help and happy to assist even after check in.

We'll be coming back!

Peter and Shelley provide the usual hospitality one expects at a B and B but they did provide extras that made our stay more enjoyable. Food available in the kitchen if we wanted to help ourselves, freshly baked cake in the afternoon, and a heart cooked breakfast in the morning. They also have an extensive garden that is well cared for. We hope to go back again.

Shelley and Peter are A1 hosts who gave us a room before they re-opened after some painting. Their property is gorgeously decorated and full of character. The gardens are very special, right near the river. Clunes itself is very characteristic of the goldfields and an ideal spot for a weekend or week long stay. Highly recommended!

An amazing property! We were six couples getting together for our annual 'catch-up' over New Year's and we had so much space! Large rooms all with ensuite, comfortable beds, and so many lounge areas as well as the beautiful gardens. We all dressed in colonial garb and really felt we had stepped back in time (albeit with all mod cons). From arranging booking to saying goodbye to Keebles, the whole experience was a total pleasure! A very special place indeed - we will stay there again!

We stayed at Keebles about 5 years and were so thrilled with our weekend decided we would go back on at least a yearly basis. The food was 5 star Dinning and the attention was excellent. For a weekend that has it all , Keebles fits the bill.

We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay here last weekend. Situated in historic Clunes, this beautiful, grand old house that was originally built in 1863, has been fully and tastefully renovated in period style. There are six bedrooms, several drawing rooms and formal and informal dining rooms. We stayed in the Spa Room that was exceptionally comfortable. There was plenty of piping hot water and big, fluffy towels. Peter and Shelley were great hosts and served a very generous breakfast on both mornings in the informal dining room overlooking the extensive garden, which stretches all the way down to Creswick Creek. The garden offers plenty of space in which to hold a very romantic wedding, including a gazebo and a bridge for photographic opportunities! Keebels is very conveniently located close to the centre of Clunes. Shelley, who is an experienced events organiser, arranged dinner reservations for us and it was only a short walk to the restaurant where we ate on the first night. She also gave us directions to Lambleys Nursery in Ascot, which we were pleased to visit on the way home. We could not have asked for better service.

We had a lovely stay at Keebles on a rare Saturday when nobody else was staying there. The house is warm and cosy and there are different areas to retreat to. We usually prefer keeping to ourselves so we were a little hesitant about booking here but hosts Shelley and Peter were welcoming, generous and entertaining company, while also being mindful of giving us space. Their famed breakfast lived up to the hype. We stayed in the Cupid Room which was comfortable though not very spacious. If you like B&Bs and enjoy meeting other people, this is the perfect place for you.

Country sanctuary from the moment you set foot in the beautiful manicured gardens to the elegantly decorated property! It gets better with a warm fire place and numerous living areas for a chat, TV, reading! What makes the place though are the lovely hosts Peter and Shelly! And you may have read about breakfast! Just make sure you are hungry available is continental muesli, fruit, toast and a fully cooked affair! Gorgeous little town with tonnes of bookshops, friendly locals who wave you in for a vino and chat! Hidden treasure and can't wait to be back!

This is a beautiful home set in gorgeous gardens in a terrific location within easy walking distance of the centre of Clunes. Our rooms were beautifully decorated (as was the entire house) and we had the use of lovely sitting rooms and a brilliantly equipped kitchen where we could help ourselves to tea, coffee, nibbles and freshly made cakes. Our hosts Shelley & Pete were wonderful - nothing was too much trouble for them and they were incredibly welcoming. Pete cooked us the most brilliant hot breakfast that would put any café to shame. We were sad to leave and could have stayed much longer. We would recommend Keebles without hesitation - it's a lovely place to stay for a few days and just relax and we would love to go back there again.

We were looking for a B&B in the goldfields region for a quiet getaway. Stayed four nights at Keebles which is a lovely well appointed place with much more than you would expect for the very reasonable price. Peter was very welcoming, on for a chat at any opportunity and really looked after us. The rooms are very comfortable and clean but the bonus is having the run of downstairs day rooms with comfortable sofas, TVs, library, tea/ coffee and snacks. Not to mention the extensive gardens. Now to breakfast - Peter and Shelley do a wonderful breakfast, the usual cereal, fruit, yoghurt and toast, but a cooked breakfast that rivals the best we had in English B&Bs recently. Keebles offers you a stay for which you could easily pay twice the price. I can't recommend this place highly enough.
