Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great place for a meal. Wide variety of dishes to select from at reasonable prices. Between us we had the fish and chips, Calamari and I had the Pork Belly. All were of a good size particularly the piece of pork belly. Staff were extremely pleasant and helpful.

Attended the Hampden Hotel for a work function. Relaxed atmosphere. Good selection of beers on tap. Large menu with plenty of meals to choose from. Meals were sensational and very well priced. Will be back !

Called into the Hampden Hotel in Camperdown recently to have lunch with family that live in the area. Appearances can be deceptive as it looks just like any old country side hotel. But the young chefs in the kitchen sure do put out a fabulous meal. Firstly the variety to choose from on the black board is a fantastic change from what a lot of restaurants have. I had trouble deciding which dish to choose. There were 5 diners at our table all with different choices. I checked out each plate at the meals, the presentation was high class, every plate was empty so that sure shows the quality of the meal and the price was very reasonable. A lot of restaurants in Geelong and on the Bellarine could take a page out of their book. The staff very friendly the service prompt. What more could a diner ask for.

Sadly this establishment doesn’t rate very high. Admittedly it was a busy night but when you have ordered around 6.45- 6.55pm and are still waiting for 2 meals at 8. 45. The meals arrived in dribs and drabs, last meal ordered arrived first. Won’t be back again party of 11, the only saving grace was that the 4 children were served early but then they had to wait while adults waited and waited for their meals. 2 hours is not acceptable to wait for a meal!!

We visited on a Friday night in early April, the dining room was busy and noisy. We ordered the duck spring rolls to share and found them crispy and delicious. For mains we all ate off the specials board, confit duck with mushroom & spinach risotto, crispy pork belly with sautéed cabbage and chicken, bacon and leek pie. All meals were exceptional and devoured by us all. The sticky date we shared for dessert was also delicious. We would highly recommend the Hampden Hotel!!

We liked the look of this hotel from the outside, went inside and liked it even more, so booked in for Dinner. A huge menu from which to choose - all looked interesting and delicious from their respective descriptions. Finally made a choice and each of us were thrilled with what was presented to us - top, top food and great, great service - heaps of ambiance to boot. What's not to like about the Hampden?

Reasonably priced food at the hotel with wide menu. Loved the grilled barramundi withcrispy skin. Blueberry cheesecake was delicious too. Restaurant is in a large hall with exposed brick walls and stained glass panels - q historic.

An enjoyable place to eat, but, understaffed on a sunday. Nothing really on the menu for vegetarians which is disappointing. Coffee fairly ordinary, need to realise that not EVERYONE wants low fat milk !!!!!!
Other meals looked ok, although thought they were a little pricey for a country pub.
