A lovely old house in a private garden setting, with a somewhat 'homey' feel complete with fresh bread and bacon and eggs in the fridge. Very clean place and cool on a hot day. Cute little second bedroom with a single bed, fantastic for families travelling with one child. Good stop-over for an overnight stay. Super modern bathroom, with rain shower and music in the bath. No gas stove in the kitchen but electric hot plate provided. Insufficient bowls (only one bowl) and plates for a family of three, despite the generous amount of breakfast provisions. Only noise was from footsteps from the upstairs suite, we stayed in the downstairs suite. Great location near public transport, shops, restaurants, and attractions.

We stayed in the Garden Suite with our 3 year old daughter. The air conditioner had been left on for our arrival (much appreciated with the warm, humid weather) and the fridge stocked with breakfast goodies.

An amazing setting in a beautiful garden. Our daughter loved picking flowers and exploring. It felt as if we were staying in a good friend's home, with the books, blankets
and DVDs. Netflix was a great addition. Very homely and warm. This would be a fabulous place to stay to just get away from the world for a few days - read and sit in the garden. Not a fan of the shower, but it did the job. Bed was comfortable.

Presumably because it was just before Christmas, we did not personally meet Campbell. However check in and out was very simple and his communication via email prior to our stay was friendly and appreciated.

The breakfast provisions were fabulous. Our only suggestion for improvement would be to check and restock the kitchenette with sufficient and suitable appliances and crockery. There was only one bowl for breakfast (in a suite for 3), only one cup for tea, no non-stick fry pan to cook scrambled eggs and the plates were all small side plates, despite the generous provisions left for breakfast.

Overall, a lovely stay. We would stay again.

Stayed over night as i entered the Puffing Billys Great Train Race. Was a perfect stay and had everything. Did not miss out on anything. Sitting amongst the ferns and had every thing we needed. Bed was soooo comfy i want to take it home. We were given an extra late check out so i could get a warm shower after the fun run. How cool is that. Campbell was the perfect host a warm loaf of fresh cooked bread brought to you in the morning. Mmmm toasted up with Jam and it set for a perfect morning. Thanx Campbell. Will be back next tear for sure.

This is a lovely old house with fabulous views and within walking distance of range of restuarants/shops in Belgrave (if you dont mind a steep walk back) as well as local walks. But room was freezing when we arrived late afternoon and the air conditioner appeared to be limited to a low temperature so the room didnt warm up til late that night. Then it was lovely but a bit late. The room also had a large worn rug that curled up at end - impossible not to trip over until we moved furniture to anchor it. The breakfast highlight was gorgeous warm loaf of bread: utterly delicious. Overall it could have been a superb stay with a little more care for the room and comfort of guests.

My husband, daughter and I had a very lovely stay at the Garden Suite in Devon Guest House. Our host, Campbell, was very kind and helpful and it was such a pleasure to have his freshly baked bread in the morning! The breakfast provisions were very generous, the cooking facilities excellent and the beds were very comfortable. The guest house is in a very quiet area with scenic views. We all agreed that it was our best accommodation during our holiday in Victoria!!

We were visitng Melbourne to see our latest grandchild. Campbell wen tout of his way to cater for my husband who is a coeliac.

I had asked for Gluten Free bread to compliment my freshly backed loaf. We were pleasantly surprised to arrive and find not only GF bread, but cereal, jam and biscuits.

The fridge was well stocked with a supply of eggs, bacon, yoghurt and fruit juice. There was also a bowl of fresh fruit....delicious. Fresh coffee beans along with a grinder and plunger were a delightful touch. AND tea leaf tea.....the final win for me.

Would we stay again. ABSOLUTELY!!! The walk DOWN to the station is good exercise, the walk up is challenging. However, Campbell is willing to avail himself to meet you.

Family of four stayed in this excellent 3 bed guest house. Very clean, great facilities, wonderful views with good outdoor seating and barbie. Provisions left for breakfast were superb with fresh loaf offered each morning - the little touches make a big impact. We will come back

I spent 3 days at Devon Guest Hiuse with a good friend and THOROUGHLY our stay. If you are looking for accomodation that is classy, yet 'homey', close to public transport, cafes, shopping, the national parks and great views, then THIS IS IT! We arrived into Melbourne Airport and were able to travel the entire distance out to Belgrave via public transport, with our host collecting us from the train station. Belgrave has several bus services and taxis. Thanks Campbell - hope to come back some time!

Although we were in the smaller appartment it was more than adequate for our weekend. The Garden Suite.
Campbell was a generous and gracious host, setting up the extra bed for a child.
The freshly baked bread delivered for breakfast was a welcome surprise.
