Quaint, peaceful, romantic! Such a beautiful place and breakfast was AMAZING. Clean and private, this place felt as if there were only two of us left in the world... close to the main shopping strip of Belgrave where there are plenty of cafe's and restaurants to choose from. Walking distance to all this and Puffing Billy. Highly recommend.

Stayed in cedar suite, was nicely furnished and ample breakfast provisions supplied, easy walking distance to puffing billy and town. Owner , Dianne pleasant and friendly.
What lets this B&B down is traffic noise and poor attention to cleanliness , there was mould in shower recess and on curtain near spa bath, for this reason would not recommend to family , friends & work colleagues.

The accommodation was very neat and mostly clean (the fan in the bathroom was covered in dust). The owners were very pleasant and accommodating. We were given supplies for a cooked or continental breakfast and this was included in the price and all items were good quality. The kitchenette was great however the frying pan was not great quality and everything kept sticking. There was a Nespresso coffee machine if we wanted to use it. The heating was great and the little chairs in the window were a great touch. It was nice to sit by the heater and look out the window. Bathroom was great with a double shower and a separate spa bath and the hairdryer was a handy addition. Location is within a minutes walking distance to the town however it is very close to the main roundabout which means if you are a light sleeper you might be woken by traffic noise. The one big downfall for me was that there are lights outside that are supposed to light the path however they are large coach lights that just light up everything. They come on when it goes dark and when we turned the inside light off ready for bed the coach light shone straight through the blinds. It was as light all through the night as it would have been at dawn. I like a room to be a little bit dark so I can sleep. Light sleepers may find this to be an issue. We had no one staying in the other rooms whilst we were there which meant it was very quiet however I suspect the wooden floors in both downstairs rooms and the upstairs one could be quite noisy. Parking was ample and the grounds and decor are lovely.

Bummer B ‘n B!
On entering you’re overwhelmed by unpleasant smell like old toilets with a strong musky odour. We happily opened the door as the window was already opened. No improvement for two night visit.
Worn out linen on old bed which isnt the one in pictures .
Misrepresenting offering as a bed and breakfast (with b n b pricing) given they provide bread etc to do it yourself and clean up without a dishwasher.
In room amenities terrible to the point of it bring funny if we hadn’t paid $500. for this! Analogue TV. A small selection of old DVDs. Not cult movies, just old. No wardrobe. Outdoor table not in a garden property etc but rather cramped up in a dark squashed spot at gate and stairs.
Capped off with noisy traffic on Saturday evening.
Wow is this for real?
Location good but better advertised as 2 star motel for much less.

This accommodation was filthy. I have photos of mould on the bread basket, the tea towel is hung over the garbage bin and the scum that came out of the spa was discusting. The 2 I gave it was for location but the dead plant at the door says it all. I contacted the owner and she said thanks for the message, can’t see it changing any time soon.

We chose this B&B as it was very close to
Puffing Billy, which we had a booking for on the Rythum & Blues train that night.

Noisy during the day if you needed a rest prior to going out and little bit during the night.
We think this was from the upstairs residence as we heard very little if anything from the accomodation next door.
Gas log fire keeps room very warm, also has split system, great for those chilly nights.
The Golden Elm room is small but nice, I would recommend only two stay but ok if a child uses available rollaway, to small for three adults, very nice breakfast provided and hospitality was great, thank you Diane
Now for the down side, The Bed was terrible or the mattress was anyway, defiantly needs replacing, wasn't a four posted bed as shown in the websites photograph.
I would recommend this accomodation to others and my wife and I would stay again.

Let's face it, travellers to Belgrave aren't spoiled for choice. Belgrave B&B's price reflects this and might leave some guests a bit underwhelmed.

PROs - central, private, friendly host, spa and pot belly stove, nice breakfast included.

CONs- lack of maintenance and housekeeping. Pillow cases were dirty and had last guest's mascara on them, sheets had stains, shower head 'screamed' and couldn't be used. These are minor issues, but the same complaints were registered in the comment book by a guest 8 months ago.

Our stay at Belgrave Bed & Breakfast was great. We parked our car and left it there as everything we needed was within walking distance, including Puffing Billy.

The room was clean, tidy and fully self contained, set away in a separate building to our hosts. The breakfast supplied was excellent with more than enough food for the two of us.

We would definitely stay again.

My husband, daughter (2yr old) and I recently stayed here for one night for a weeding we had in the area. We found these self contained cottages to be everything we needed, with that added touch of comfort. We found the bed comfortable, bathroom was spacious with a double shower n spa bath. The heater worked great and the lady even left us a little cheese n crackers spread with milk, tea n coffee which after a long drive was lovely to find. This place is right next to puffing billy, and the shops. You can walk to puffing billy it is that close, although the road can be very busy & could be a little dangerous trying to cross the road if you are walking with kids. I also want to add that we had popped out for dinner and when we returned to the cottages the lady had left in our rooms a full continental breakfast plus fresh free ranged eggs, bacon, butter, tomatoe, bread (white & wholemeal) honey & a couple of little cupcakes. The added touches really helped us enjoy our stay that little bit more. Everything was thought of and we felt very welcomed and very comfortable. Would HIGHLY recommend this place to couples and also couples with a small child.

My wife and I revisited the B&B we stayed in last year and were equally happy with our unit this time. Unfortunately the weather was very wet, which made my visit to the nearby Puffing Billy a new experience, but pleasurable nonetheless. The bed in the unit was very comfortable and (thankfully) the gas-fired potbelly heater was more than adequate to keep the cold at bay. The breakfast is a cook-it-yourself job, which suited us. The hamper of brekky materials was generous and all the equipment needed to cook it was in good working order. We ate at the India Gate restaurant in the main street, which was excellent and the price very reasonable. If you want a rainforest retreat in Melbourne's Dandenong Ranges, then we thoroughly recommend Belgrave B&B.

"Very popular so book well in advance. Also ensure you know the way to get there and where the entrance is....Monbulk Rd can be very busy and a pain to have to turn around and come back to entrance"
