Detailed Reviews
Their relatively new “Glamping Park Pods” sounded interesting, so we thought we’d give them a go for 3 nights. But they are small and room is tight. 10% bigger would make them much more workable. The shower is good in a tight bathroom with inadequate shelving, no power points and thus no hair dryer. The queen bed is very comfortable and the mini kitchen area was adequate with an electric jug, microwave, toaster, and cutlery etc for two. A quiet aircon very effectively does the heating and cooling. A near by camp kitchen is well equipped.
The occasional gum nut hits the roof during the night which made quite a noise. Bring some fly spray, as there is no fly wire door at the entrance so flies and mozzies do get in.
Although this park is only about 2 kms out of town, the Telstra phone reception was marginal in this lower camping area and unworkable inside the pod. It was better in the nearby upper part of the facility.
What turned us off is that the tent and caravan sites are not at all well marked out. When we arrived, our friends, who rented the second pod, had three young ladies camped right next door with their guy ropes about 1.5 metres from the pod. They pointed out that their campsite was not marked out and they were just told to set up next to Pod No. 2. May be I’m getting old and cranky, but I expected a bit more open space around the pods. Most of the regular cabins are away from the tent and caravan area which is where we’d stay in the future.

This was only the second caravan park that we have ever stayed at as we are new nomads.
The male owner was very helpful and friendly on the phone and the park was really very nice.
We checked out today - one day earlier and yesterday I went to the office to thank the owner for a lovely stay only to be met with a rather rude lady at the desk who told me that it will be $70 per night at holiday times in the future!
No thanks.
She also told me that I should book 3 mths in advance at even off peak times?
This place has so much potential, I hope that the higher prices get reviewed when no one books.

We stayed in a Miner's Hut and it was simple but had everything we needed. Could not fault the helpfulness of the owners, Alice and Andrew - friendly, pleasant to deal with and flexible about things. Whilst not quite walking distance to town (unless you want a small hike!) I thought it more informal and less hectic than the caravan park at Lake Sambell. It is an easy 5 min bike ride into town and it is on the road to Stanley so not far to drive or cycle there also. It is wonderfully located also for walks and MTB rides to Lake Kerford or back into Beechworth - great tracks leading directly out of the back of the park straight into the bush.

We stayed here in a supposedly "pet friendly" cabin, together with our cat at Christmas. We were quoted $140 a night including our cat. On arrival we were overcharged by $45. The shower had long black hairs in the bottom of it together with black mould. There was a c.70cm diameter cobweb, complete with spider, adjacent to the air con which clearly had not been cleaned for some considerable time. I had to sterilise the cutlery with boiling water and a good wash before using as these still had food remains on them. The television did not work at all for the duration of our stay. Likewise, the so-called "free WiFi" (didn't work at all!) and there's no Optus phone reception on site. The cabin was not pet-friendly as the mozzie screens to two of the three windows were not attached meaning that our cat could have got out. There appears to be no emergency generator on site for when there was a power outage the entire park was plunged into darkness with no air con available (or ceiling fans) despite the temperatures being in the mid 30s. The owners failed to demonstrate any care or thoughtfulness to their customers by checking on anyone and advising when power might be restored erc. We repaired the large mozzie screen and opted to deal with the essential cleaning ourselves as I am severely immunocompromised and did not want anyone in the cabin rectifying issues because of the COVID risk. In any case we were aware that it was Christmas and thought that the staff would probably want to enjoy their Christmas themselves, especially given the tone of an email I received from Linda prior to our arrival. However, when I checked out and politely endeavoured to secure a refund (a) in respect of the overcharge and (b) a token partial refund in respect of the problems we had encountered out of goodwill, I was met with the most incredible rudeness and lack of customer care by Paul and Linda (the staff in the office). When I tried to outline some of the issues we had faced, Linda spent the time rolling her eyes at me and suggesting that she give me a piece of paper and "you can write a list". Paul did acknowledge that they "had issues with their cleaning". They both decided that they didn't have time to listen further to me, declined to give me a token refund in respect of the issues we had encountered, and only grudgingly gave me $45 cash refund in respect of the overcharge after their EFTPOS machine failed to connect to issue a credit card refund. Their attitude was, in my opinion, quite frankly, appalling. I would not recommend anyone stay here.

We stayed in “Kelly’s Cottage for seven nights over Christmas. Location was lovely. Disappointed with cleanliness of the cottage when we arrived. Shower hadn’t been cleaned ( hair and used soap along with black mould ) greeted us. Floors- although swept were not washed. Double glass doors needed a good clean with previous guests finger smudge over glass. Dust bunnies inside wardrobe on floor. Dump point approximately 4 metres alongside our cabin gave off a terrible stench. Disappointed with lady at reception being abrupt and unfriendly. Really put a damper on our Christmas family holiday.

This caravan park is situated out of the town on Stanley Rd. Too far out to walk into town. On the positive side the cabin was spacious and very quiet. On the negative side it was expensive at $170/night compared to other caravan park cabins. Be wary, we had no consistent mobile phone coverage with either Telstra or Optus. We also could not connect to the park's WiFi (I tried 2 mobile phones and 2 Android tablets). Also there was no TV reception. The owner/manager said there was a problem in the park system but it had not been sorted. This issue was only passed onto me when I rang after trying to get either TV to work, he did not advise us on this issue when we checked in. We also noticed later a note stuck to the fridge with details on the park WiFi and advising on a problem with the TV reception. So it was not a issue that had come up in the last few days. I did complain to the staff on check out the next day, saying we should have been advised of the issues when checking in and suggesting a discount but all I got was, "I will advise the manager." Not good enough. Added to all this we also experienced a cold night, the aircon did not operate properly.

Rudest and most unprofessional lady at the reception.
We booked a family studio for 4 of us for one night ($285 not inclusive of linen and towels!) and because the booking was made over the phone and the same rude lady took the booking messed up the dates and booked us in for the day after. My fault for not checking straight away but the only confirmation email received only had a ‘tax invoice’ attachment and didn’t expect the booking details to be in that file. Once realised the mistake on the day of check in (Jan 2nd) we tried to call the accomodation 13 times since the morning but the reception has been unattended the whole day and needed up sleeping in the car for the night. The day after we tried to call again and ask for a refund and the lady started yelling aggressively over the phone and hung up denying any sort fault on her end for having an accomodation office unattended the whole day. Worst customer service and problem resolution ever, especially considering their pricey tariffs for such basic accomodations.
SHOCKING MANNERS from the older lady.

No cleaning of amenities yet during our stay.
Read Google reviews just now, can't be bothered with complaining to management- they are too busy biking and won't address issues.
Amenities block should be demolished and start again. Hopefully the 'new owners' have big plans and wads of cash!
Kitchen area had a wipe over, but microwave is mouldy. Fridge is ferral. Just yuk!
Not sure what planet it is okay to even offer camping for non self contained campers without actually having cleaners (or "managers" that can clean to a standard).
Just shut and only have cabins? Or say suitable for self contained vehicles only?
Steps are broken, hazardous pathways. Slow sensors in bathroom so very dark at night.

Beautiful setting, lots of green grass around our caravan site, peaceful, roomy sites, close to bike trails, extremely clean toilet/amenities in the bottom section - our friends stayed in the gorgeous glamping pods!
Paul (owner) and Viv (office) were very friendly and lovely ro deal with! 3 nights wasn’t enough in this beautiful place! Will definitely be back!

Made a mistake booking with the dates online, Call immediately and got an answering machine so left a message. Call the office on Monday to change my booking and they could not fit me in on the new date so I asked to cancel, and they charged me $30 cancellation fee for a booking 4 weeks away. I told them i tried to cancel straight away but they did not care. I would advise you not to book with them. If this is their level of care for a mistake.
