Wow. My mum and dad had booked to stay at colby cottages when they picked me up from my mum, due to covid that couldn't happen, now 10 months old, they decided to take me on the trip and use our longstanding booking at Colby Cottages From the moment mum got out of the car all she said was “oh:how beautiful” there was everything we could want, open space, beautiful views, peace and quiet, and the cottage mum said could not have had one more thing added that we would have needed. So comfy, but fitted out to resemble an old cottage but with all the things you need for modern living. Aircon A spa! And even essential oil, a cd player to listen to relaxing music - supplied. on winter nights an open fire too. Breakfast was a treat of bacon and fresh eggs from their own chooks, fresh bread and butter, not that i got any but it smelt wonderful. We ate out in nearby Beechworth and the star pub in Yackandanda, their food was terrific and they were very dog friendly. Mum bought ham and steaks and sausages from the local butcher there which she still raves about, yes i got a piece of that! We all loved it and will be going back to see Linda and Jamie. Colby Cottages are very dog friendly, which was great for me, as i liked sitting on the verandah watching the horses and cows, oh yeah! We’ll be going back. Alexander. Old english sheepdog.

Our stay at Colby Cottages was thoroughly enjoyable. The cottages have a lot of atmosphere and the wood heater added to the cosiness. Our kids loved feeding the chooks in the very impressive hen-house, roaming around with our dog and having a wander by the creek. The provisions were very generous and Linda and Jamie made us very welcome. The cottage was very well equipped and comfortable. It's only a few minutes into Beechworth or Yackandandah but it was good to just hang out at Colby Cottages as well.

We had a terrific two nights in the 3 bedroom cottage. Initially the lack of internet coverage trouble our teens however within minutes they had found the quoits set on the front verandah and were quite happy. Comfortable beds, large table and chairs, bbq and breakfast items all made for a great stay. Much better for a family than hotel rooms!

We stayed in the 3 bd Orchard Cottage. We had 2 adult children with us and there was plenty of room. It was lovely and had a rustic country feel. Warm and cosy with the combustion heater but also a ducted ( to each bedroom ) electric heater. The owners had left wood at the back door for us. Bacon, eggs, bread, milk and all tea, coffee etc plus salt & pepper. This cottage had everything we needed. We had a little puppy so to find a place accommodating pets was great. It had plenty of outdoor areas and the cottages are spaced so you are not on top of the others. Highly recommend Colby Cottages.

If you are looking for a romantic get away for 2 in the country I would highly recommend Colby Cottages. Situated about 10mins drive out of Beechworth it is set off the road in a very rural location. You have the choice of 3 cottages 2 of which are for couples 1 for families. We chose the miners cottage. Its a quaint studio cabin done up as a miners cottage of a bygone era. It has all the mod conns you need including a spa and cosy wood fire place. Its the perfect place to just snuggle up on cold winter days and nights. The owners Andrew and Glenda made you feel welcome and nothing was to much trouble for them from providing extra fire wood to help geetting the miners oven to work. If your looking for that romatic weekend in the hills, as Molly would say, "do yourself a favor " and go stay at Colby Cottages.

My husband and I stayed in the Miners Cottage last weekend and had the best time. The accommodation was excellent. Best comfort, best couples spa, best shower, best everything. Anyone wanting an amazing, private, relaxing escape then this is the place for you. Birds singing, rabbits grazing, bees buzzing, nature all around. Keep up the great work Colby.

Quiet, picturesque with pre 1940 decor. Perfect for wedding nights or special occasions. We spent the last two nights of our nine day trip th Beechworth and the high country. Even our small dog was caterred for, dog owners take note. The decor is superb and the owners had thought of everything in this wonderful B&B. Ask for the miners cottage when you book.

Beautifully quiet and relaxing. Excellent place for a weekend away. We stayed in the Captains Cottage & loved it; small, cosy, comfortable bed, great shower. Loved sitting on the verandah overlooking the dam, watching the sun set. Situated between Beechworth & Yackandandah, there is plenty to do if you want activity. We would be very happy to return for another visit.

Thank you Jan for your glowing comments and we are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the sunsets as that is why I built the back verandahs on the cottages. I hope we get to meet another time, kind regards Andrew

We stayed 5 nights in the 3 bedroom cottage and it suited our family well. Amazing workmanship to craft a home out old fittings and fixtures and blend with modern conveniences. Warm, cozy and very relaxing after a day of hiking or riding. Peaceful rural surrounds. Great hosts too. Want to go back to Beechworth to explore more in the future and would stay again and without hesitation.
