Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beechworth House bed and breakfast was a great find and is beautiful in so, so many ways. The building itself has been so beautifully rejuvenated. And then there is the added solace of the verdant garden, the artwork, the furniture, the linen and soft furnishings. But probably what we will remember most is the gentle welcoming and nurturing hospitality. They seem to have put their heart and soul into creating a place where everywhere your eyes rests, there is beauty and considered and respectful care. Denis is a marvellous Chef and I highly recommend you get to experience his culinary skills, having worked abroad in so many different restaurants. The homemade chocolate tart packed and ready for us to take on our journey back home was an unexpected bonus. The fabulous breakfasts, cooked to order. The fresh flowers. The comfort of the king sized bed and the great air conditioning of the Jardin room on a hot night. The interesting snatched conversations with Denis and Carolyn, who have lived such interesting and cosmopolitan lives. We highly recommend this accommodation, it was such a gently nurturing interlude. A joy. Carolle & Jon Thank you Alan, Denis and Carolyn for sharing your beautiful space with us. 5 Stars from us.

This French inspired tranquil escape in Beechworth is a slice of heaven and highly recommended. There are just 3 luxury rooms, all with every amenity you could need and secluded privacy. I stayed 2 nights in the Jardin room and woke to the little birds singing in the garden which was a delight. My international friends were in the larger Le Tour room and agreed this was a wonderful place to stay. Fabulous hosts, very comfy bed, great linens, well set out fridge/ kitchenette facilities and a stunning bathroom! And if that wasn’t enough, there is also an incredible private pool set in amongst the trees and a cosy fire in the dining room for the winters. The private guest only dinner from our wonderful professional chef was divine (the soufflé was perfection) and coupled with an excellent wine cellar. I’m already planning my return visit! Book direct for a great rate.

We had a lovely one night stay at Beechworth House en route to Melbourne. The garden and grounds are beautiful and the pool and deck with sun loungers was a lovely place to spend the afternoon. Our room was large with a beautiful bathroom and all mod cons. We had dinner and breakfast - both prepared by a chef and both really lovely. It was great to be able to order a bottle on wine from their cellar, meaning we did not have to leave the property once we arrived. A really quality stay I would highly recommend.

This is one of the best/maybe the best place that we have ever stayed in Australia. It’s the ideal venue for a romantic or restful retreat as the house is set in beautiful gardens in a peaceful location, but only a few minutes from the town centre. We loved our stay and enjoyed our suite which featured a very comfortable bed, a state of the art bathroom and very tasteful fittings with a French accent. The dining experience is exquisite and given that there is a maximum of around 6 guests - there are only three suites - you can expect the personal touch. As well as all of this we enjoyed the magnesium pool and the lovely gardens. But above all, our hosts, Alan, Denis - chef extraordinaire - and the ever helpful Caroline, made our visit very special.

We really lucked out with this accommodation. Beautifully appointed room in established garden setting. Denis and Carolyn were excellent hosts serving the most delicious lemon tart in the afternoon and a superb dinner in the evening. Was even able to charge my car at their solar powered charging station. An experience not to be missed if you’re heading to the High Country!

Beechworth House is an oasis for travellers between Melbourne & Sydney. After having stayed here on four occasions in the last 6 months we are devotees. This charming B & B is a beautiful sandstone cottage with three seperate, beautifully appointed apartments, with modern, recently renovated bathrooms, a few minutes out of town. The gardens and grounds are beautifully maintained & inviting. Tastefully appointed with quality inclusions, bedding and efficient heating & air conditioning. Your friendly hosts Denis, Carolyn & Alan will make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. Indulge in chef Denis’ scrumptious breakfasts in your room and let him prepare a beautiful dinner for you in the main house. We cannot recommend this lovely place too highly, a shining light of hospitality. Do yourself a favour and stay soon.

We stayed for one night and couldn't have wanted for more. I was there for my birthday and the dinner prepared by Dennis was beyond delicious! I have an aversion to Ginger but this was no trouble for the chef who created three course of heaven. Paired with a lovely local wine, wonderful ambience and hosts that go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. We stayed in the 'Le Tour' suite and it wanted for nothing (except perhaps some tissues?) and was full of added extras. We choose to take breakfast by the pool and the fruit platter was fresh, juicy and delicious. Could not recommend Beechworth House more highly. We will be back for sure.

A great place to break our road-trip to Sydney! A lovely room with all the modern comforts including coffee machine, kettle, fresh milk in the fridge. Excellent Wi-Fi and magnetic charging post for iPhone. A delicious three course dinner created by Denis and Carolyn. A beautiful breakfast was delivered to our room before we continued our drive. There’s is an electric charger for anyone with an electric car! This place is a gem!!
