My wife and I stayed at Provenance for one night. Our room was up stairs and it was fantastic with lots space and well equipped with everything needed for a good night's sleep. The bed was very comfortable. There is no view as the rooms are at the back of an old bank which is now a restaurant. Vehicle access is via a very tight lane and parking limited to two cars - as we arrived early we got the first park. Provenance is in the Main Street of Beechworth and easy walk to lots of shops etc. Breakfast is supplied but self serve, but it is quite extensive with everything you would want short of something cooked. The food provided well and truly satisfied our needs for breakfast. We were well looked after by the manager (Michael?) who helped us settle in. Provenance is expensive, but it is value for money.

We are not inexperienced travellers having had a lifetime of Australian and international travel. Every now and then we come across a place that stands out. Such is provenance in Beechworth. We stayed for 2 nights. It’s right in the heart of town . The room was beautifully appointed with high quality linen fittings and appliances. The bathroom was big with a double shower & spa bath. The bed was very comfortable as were the pillows. The quality of the in room breakfast was unexpected but lived up to the 2 hat status of the restaurant with house made cereals, yoghurt and jams, bread, poached quince, cheese and muffins, along with fresh apple juice a variety of teas, coffees and hidden under a paper on the plate mortadella . Parking is limited but Beechworth is a quiet town with plenty of on street parking. We would definitely stay here again and will certainly be recommending the accommodation and restaurant to our friends.

Lovely, comfortable, modern accommodation. They provide the makings of a great do-it-yourself breakfast (only on certain days, but they happened to be the days we were staying). The bathroom is huge and has a large spa bath. Very welcome if you’ve spent the day riding bikes!

We stayed here so we could enjoy the restaurant. We stayed in the bank managers accomodation up the steep stairs above the restaurant. It was a unique experience with a comfortable bed, kitchen, dining room, lounge room and small bathroom. All decorated in the period the bank manager would have lived in the accomodation. The bathroom products were very good. The steep stairs are a little daunting but we valued assistance with our bags. We were disappointed there was no parking and had to rely on off street parking with our bikes on the back of our car. The location is ideal to explore the town. The accomodation suited its purpose and we loved the restaurant which we have rated and written about in a separate review

We were greatly anticipating our stay at Provenance after months of covid-19 lockdown. I wouldn't call the room luxurious. It was quite large but the furniture was shabby chic asian and not to our taste at all. The bathroom was huge, with a double shower and spa bath. Breakfast provisions were provided and were quite generous...fresh orange juice, muesli, prosciutto, cheese, crumpets. All the tea was loose leaf, and the coffee had to be plunger, which we couldn't be bothered with. Parking is a nightmare. We were blocked in by another car so couldn't leave even if we wanted to. Luckily they were up and about in the morning when we were leaving. The outdoor furniture was very uncomfortable. Couldn't sit there for long even though it was a warm afternoon and lovely garden outlook. I don't think it was worth the $310 for the night.

Stayed for 2 nights. In room breakfast very good. Stay would be great in summer with outdoor seating and garden. Less comfortable in bad weather as no armchairs inside. Found off-street parking difficult to navigate as not SUV. More care needed to check that room and facilities in tip top condition given price per night. Not currently value for money in our view.

We recently spent 3 nights at the Provenance while cycling the region. The rooms were comfortable and spacious and located in a garden setting behind the fabulous Provenance restaurant. The bathroom had a double shower and large jacuzzi tub to ease the muscles after a long day in the saddle and excellent amenities. When the restaurant is open (Wed to Sun), breakfast can be had in the rooms. Ingredients are placed in the room the night before for you to enjoy at your leisure. The sourdough crumpets were superb.

We have just returned after spending two nights in Beechworth at the Provenance Accommodation. Our room was upstairs and had a comfortable king sized bed, a generous sized and well appointed room, good heating, a big bathroom with a super sized spa, lovely toiletries and tasty continental breakfast supplies. We also ate in the restaurant which was the reason for our trip and reviewed separately (it’s outstanding!). It was an extremely comfortable base to explore Beechworth and the surrounding areas. Congratulations Michael and Jeanette you have created a wonderful venue. We will be back!

These are advertised as luxury suites. We had a very nice room, with a gorgeous bathroom, but certainly not a suite and lacking in almost everything that would qualify it as luxury. We stayed here for two nights, hoping to eat at the restaurant, not realising that it is closed in February - so that was disappointing. The other things that were very disappointing included not having breakfast supplied (possibly my mistake as I may not have noticed that when I booked), not having any wifi, despite it being clearly advertised, no housekeeping at all for our two day stay, a ceiling fan so poorly mounting that it wobbled and rocked wildly and was basically unusable, and no parking. There are only two very tight parks on the premises, we had to park out on the street in the two hour parking spots. Not particularly good value for the price.

Really really enjoyed our stay at Provenance. Very central location, historic restaurant out front, and extremely comfortable rooms out back to stay in. Fabulous bathroom with two person spa and two person shower and heater. Spacious main area with comfy sofa and free streaming. Terrific bed - and pillows not too fluffy - my pet hate with hotels! Parking out front too. Go there.
