LOCATED on the banks of Lake Sambell, and only minutes from the Beechworth town centre, Lake Sambell Caravan Park is perfectly placed to base yourself for the weekend, a week or even longer. Offering fully self-contained ensuite cabins, all of which maximise views of the lake and park grounds as well as powered and unpowered campsites, Lake Sambell provides accommodation to suit every budget. For those who prefer to camp out among the trees or sit beside a campfire and toast marshmallows, you can do just that when you book one of the powered or unpowered sites. Pets are welcome all year round and we offer eight designated pet-friendly cabins. The park boasts a very clean amenities block with laundry, clothes dryer and baby bath, undercover BBQ areas, playground, mini golf, volleyball court and a well-stocked kiosk. We are perfectly located for bike riders to access the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail, the Mountain Bike Park or to ride the Epic Bike Trail.

Given it was a long weekend, the park was fully booked. We had an unpowered site located on the grassy area that ran along the fence line of the entrance to the park and the lake on the other.
Compared to other caravan parks that we have stayed in, the sites in this vicinity were quite large.
This park had fire pits for hire and sold fire wood for a very reasonable cost. We precooked these two and it was at our site upon arrival.
The only negative about the unpowered sites on the hill were the portable toilets. They were quite noisy, however the maintenance crew (Steve & Kym) did their best to fix the doors and moved the loos closer to the tree in the middle which really helped on the last day of our stay.
The park had a decent laundry and camp kitchen and we appreciated the use of the large camp kitchen fridge.
The walk around Lake Sambell is beautiful and is literally on your doorstep. You can fish, swim, kayak in the lake. The caravan park and town of Beechworth is incredibly dog friendly which was perfect for us travelling with our fur babies.
Given the surrounds and friendliness of the park staff that we interacted with (Steve & Kym) we wouldn’t hesitate in returning in the near future.

We had our caravan onsite for the week. We followed the person directly to our site, he helped direct us so we had shade and view of the area. the amenities where clean and for the kids the showers have coloured lights while showering. The location of the park is great, 0.5km walk into Beechworth and walking/cycling tracks all around the area. there is a lovely little lake beach and picnic area approx.05km around the lake. minigolf, volleyball area. need a high antennae but you can place a refundable $20 deposit and use one of the parks cables into one of the cabins if you cant get reception. they empty the bins each day, mow the lawns regularly and are there if you have any questions. Great people and great place. Worthwhile returning

Lake Sambell Caravan Park is beautiful, we go there twice a year, in Dec/Jan and then May. Roger, Sie and their staff keep this park running efficiently and are always so friendly and helpful. The amenities are always cleaned thoroughly everyday and they are always popping in to spot clean and top up needed items throughout the day and evening. It has a beautiful lake you can enjoy in the summer, and in the cooler months the area is stunning when all the trees change colour.

We stayed here for 4 nights on a large corner powered site over the Melbourne Cup weekend, this little park is absolutely beautiful. Upon arrival we were greeted by extremely friendly and helpful staff who also guided us onto our site, which we were very grateful for. The park and the amenities are very well kept and modern with good hot showers, we also enjoyed reading the funny pictures on the insides of the shower and toilet doors. Great town with lots to see and do. Highly recommend this caravan park, sunsets over the lake are not to be missed.

Roger & Sue make you feel welcome as soon as you arrive, prior to arrival communication was fantastic, this park is set in a beautiful location, in a beautiful town, with lots of shade, great facilities, immaculate presentation, nothing is a drama. The communal toilet blocks appear to have been recently upgraded with cool changing Colour LED shower heads, great water pressure, good hygiene practices, fire pits/ wood available, TV boosted signal cables available. 1.61 19 mins walk to the Beechworth Bakery in the center of town and an extra minute or so to the IGA supermarket.
Highly recommend this caravan park! Lots of wildlife, short drive to Woolshed falls, Billsons Brewery, worth a look.

Our Group used 4 cabins and 8 powered sites. Those in cabins were very impressed with the facilities , the immaculate cleanliness really impressed and 3 cabins had beautiful views over the Lake. The powered sites were spacious and grouped close together opposite the BBQ gazebo and with a common area in the middle for group gatherings around the drum fire. All the caravanners liked the cleanliness of the amenities block . The caravanners also loved being escorted to their site and then expertly assisted with a perfect back in by the staff. This eliminated all stress ! We found all the staff to be friendly, helpful and attentive to our group needs even supplying complimentary cheese and biscuits to accompany our wine tasting event. This gesture was much appreciated. Our Group had a wonderful 5 nights in Beechworth with the stay in the Lake Sambell Caravan Park being one of the highlights .

Our first time at this park, but will not be our last. The park features a large lake with powered and unpowered caravan and camping sites and a variety of cabins. Park staff assist all caravanners onto their sites and couldn't have been more helpful.
TV reception is poor so each site has an antenna and coax socket. Cables are provided on request, with a refundable deposit. Water hose too short? No problem, they will lend you an extension.
The amenities are newly-refurbished and spotless, with excellent water pressure. There is a well-equipped camp kitchen and a number of BBQs throughout the park (baking paper is provided at each BBQ to keep them clean).
A short 15 minute walk will see you in the middle of Beechworth, with its many attractions.

An opportunity presented for us to venture away for an experimental caravan trip. We hired a caravan from Utow Caravans in Somerville VIC 3912 and set off for the Alpine region for a short getaway. Love Beechworth, stayed previously (AirBNB) but this time as in-training grey nomads. The park is excellent, located beside Lake Sambell and a short walk to town. From arrival to departure the friendly staff are available to assist, their commitment evident in the maintenance/presentation of the parks facilities and grounds. Especially appreciative of the inside knowledge and experience of caravan life shared with us from one of the staff. Great experience, we will be back.

What a great location! We felt very welcomed from the start! The cabin was impeccably clean, and comfortable. It had everything we needed to make our stay wonderful. As an added touch we were able to hire a wood fire which made the kids time special, as was the little possum visitor to our cabin whenever we were outside at night. We loved our stay and would highly recommend this clean and well maintained park to anyone thinking of camping, caravanning or staying as we did, in a cabin on site.

Spacious grassed site at rear of the park suited us perfectly with a larger van and staff very helpful guiding us in. The aerial cable supplied with each site with minimal deposit is a great service. Park is centrally located and walking distance to shopping area and most importantly the brewery. Have already booked next year.
