What a wonderful week we had staying in the two bedroom 'apartment' (more like a duplex) at Golden Heritage. The apartment is set at one end of the large motel property, on the other side of the duck pond, away from the standard motel rooms and accessed by an adjoining road (and much cheaper than an airB&B!). We woke to the sound of birdsong and breakfasted on the deck/BBQ area overlooking the pond. Beechworth is a two minute drive from the motel so easy to access for meals when we didn't want to cook for ourselves in the fully kitted-out kitchen (and there's also a laundry and clothesline). Beechworth is a very good central base to explore as far afield as Bright to the southeast or north to Rutherglen and handy to the King Valley (Chrismont has a restaurant as well as cellar door; Politini also worth a visit) in the south. In the past we've stayed in the standard motel rooms and enjoyed the deck with views over the gorge but decided to try the apartment for our longer stay. The motel also has stand-alone cottages with kitchens and spa baths as other accommodation choices. Jo is helpful with suggestions as to wineries or restarants/cafes to visit and even with last-minute accommodation changes! Very highly recommended.

Stayed for 3 nights ( which apparently means no room service i.e. daily cleaning and change of towels etc - not a concern but reporting as information to know here) post Easter weekend. Rooms ( King suite) are very spacious and our room looked out towards the Beechworth Historic Park area ( breathtaking view shown in my photo ) from a balcony deck shared with other rooms on that side of building so no privacy (not that it concerned us). Other rooms have view of cars in car park! Great king bed ( pillows a bit soft for me ), functional but cramped bathroom compared to overall room size - great water pressure is shower though. Had a pool we didn’t use that is small compared to photos seen on web ( that’s not unusual). Location is slightly out of town centre but right on main road to travel out of town in both directions and it’s only a 10-15 minute walk to town centre and right next it to Gorge Road entrance which I loved for early morning walks. Reception staff was helpful at checkin (although a bit unaware of the lack of current dining options in town due to COVID related staffing issues and opening times) and checkout ( they called us early to let us know I left something behind in room which was fortunate as we were still close by enough to return). Overall served its purpose and would recommend to stay.

Thank you for your kind and thorough review Mark. The Executive King Suites are certainly favourable to enjoy the sunsets, a glass of wine and watch the world go. We love that we are located slightly out of town and close to the gorge, like you, many enjoy the walks that are easily accessible from the Accommodation. Thanks again for recommended us and hope to see you again in the near future. Regards Jo & Darren

We booked for 2 nights. Check in was easy and Covid safe. Reception staff member (I think it was the owner) was friendly, obliging and helpful. Our king suite was spacious, quiet, comfortable and showed a high standard of cleanliness. Our room had a balcony with lovely, relaxing views. The long balcony was shared with other rooms on that side, but that didn't bother us in the least. The information booklet provided in our room was extremely informative, with not only room and motel information, but local tourist information as well - we found this very helpful. Our room also had a microwave, sink, little dining setting, little outdoor setting, toaster, bowls, plates and cutlery which meant that we could bring a light meal Into our room to eat ( not all motels have this option) - we found it very convenient. Ample off-street parking. This accommodation is slightly out of town, but that adds to the quietness of the location and is only a short walk or drive to town. We'd stay here again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others.

We spent one night in a 2 bedroom spa cottage and can say we very much recommend this place! We arrived to a warm welcome and a easy check in .. our cottage looked overlooked a beautiful scene of rolling hills and was in perfect position to watch the sunset from our large verandah .. worth the extra for the larger cabin as they as positioned in the best spot The cottage was private, clean and cozy, we instantly felt comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed The lounge was comfortable and the beds left us well rested The pool area looked lovely but was just a little too cold for a swim Look forward to coming back to stay here again!

Thank you for your lovely review of our property and we were thrilled to hear you enjoyed the comfort and convenience of the 2 Bedroom Self Contained Spa Cottage. Cottage 15 is certainly the most popular for 2-4 people with the view from the deck to watch the most amazing sunsets or just to enjoy the serenity. Luckily for us the weather has warmed up and the pool is certainly getting a work out! We do look forward to seeing you again soon. Regards Jo & Darren.

This is an older style motel set in a beautiful setting. It is totally silent apart from the crickets, and you rarely see another soul.
Our Executive King room faced west, and room and balcony were sun filled in mid - late afternoon (October) . There were spectacular views across a tree laden valley to the town beyond.
The room had all mod cons, but most importantly for us, a kitchen work bench with a small sink. It is so much more functional than having a general wash basin in the bathroom. It also had a toaster and microwave, which is all we ever need.
Building and room was spotless. Bathroom clean and modern, and king bed very comfy.
There is a mini bar with realistic prices. A rarity these days. A good bottle of local table wine for $15. Didn't bother bringing mine in from the car. Too easy.
Standout was great hospitality from the charming hosts Jo and Darren. They went out of the way to ensure we were comfortable, and always up for a quick chat.
There are many interesting walks and bike rides in the immediate area of the motel

We stayed in one of the Annie's Apartments, which are situated at the back of the property. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment. The lounge/dining room is very spacious, as is the kitchen. The kitchen is well equipped for all types of cooking. The 2 bedrooms were a good size, especially the one with the 2 single beds. There is a fully equipped laundry as well (which we didn't use). After 4 nights our room was serviced. The entrance to these apartments is off the main road and is relatively quiet. While it is 2km out of the main part of Beechworth, we walked into town easily, either along the main road or through the back streets. There are a few walks right outside the gate as well. We would highly recommend one of these apartments.

It was a pleasure to read your review and appreciate the time you've taken to inform others of what to expect when staying at Annies Apartments. The apartments are very popular given they offer full kitchen and laundry facilities. Backing onto the national park makes it ideal to go out for the walk and enjoy nature. Thank you for choosing to stay with us and look forward to seeing you next time you visit Beechworth. Regards Jo & Darren

I stayed 2 nights with my sister, the hotel is about a kilometre from the main street and everything is easily accessible by car. The service was good and they were happy to help with restaurant suggestions. The hotel has roses along the front and rooms at the back overlook the valley.
Our room was very spacious and well equipped, including a huge flat screen TV, coffee machine, mini bar, a table and chairs as well as two lounge chairs and other seating on the shared balcony. The bathroom was a bit dated, but spotlessly clean and the beds comfortable. The hotel also has a nice pool and outdoor areas to relax.
I enjoyed my stay and happily recommend Golden Heritage.

This accommodation was conveniently located to bushwalks, but a little drive out of town. The host was very helpful and friendly and provided us with good information.
Inside the 1 bedroom cottage was a small functional kitchenette, huge flat screen TV, comfortable lounge and fantastic spa bath. At just under $200 per night it was on the expensive side of things.
Unfortunately, the balcony views are not as depicted in the advertising material. The front balcony looks to the main road (no valley views) and the back landing (NOT a functional balcony) looks to other cottages - see pictures I have provided with this review. For the price I was expecting some views (as advertised) from the balcony.

Thank you Phil for your review of our One Bedroom Self Contained Spa Cottage. We appreciated that prior to check-in you toured our property and selected the cottage that you wanted to stay in, but unfortunately it was already occupied and while we made every endeavour to rectify the problem, including insuring you had exclusive use of the elevated lounge area of the motel with sweeping views which you took advantage of, we can only continue to apologize. The review could have been less and it could have been better if some of the small issues were addressed. The room was dated , the carpet was tired and in need of some refurbishment. The internet was spotty and not really acceptable as it dropped out frequently.A ceiling fan was dangerous and was not connected to the ceiling and swung violently when operated. The carpet in the hallway was corrugated and needed replacement.Today travellers export more and sadly the operators need to hear of issues. On a positive note the gardens were pleasant.

We headed over to beechworth in the first week we were allowed to after covid restrictions were lifted. The couple running the motel were just the most lovely people who made us some amazing recommendations of things to see and do as well as running us in and out to dinner one night. We will be back and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing few nights away!
