Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were attending a function and just needed somewhere to sleep. The house appeared to be well appointed in the common areas and kitchen. Our double bedroom (which included an ensuite) was compact but suitable for our needs. Very good value for the price.

We stop in this backpacker during our trip along the great ocean road. The first thought i have when we arrived, was it's a little hostel. There are only 2 dormitory, and 10 people can spend their night in this place. So not a big structure as we can imagine when we talk about backpackers.

People are really nice (dogs too, don't be afraid they just want to know you ^^) and if you talk to them about you trip they can help you. The place is really clean. Bathroom and kitchen for you own use, you just need to bring your food and your clothes.

There's a tv in the living room chere you can spend a night in front of movies, or books or newspaper. There also a computer with internet.

A perfect place to stay during your trip.

Found a broken shower head on one visit to Anglesea in August 2016. Functional kitchen facilities and a comfortable living area. Room service was fairly average although the Wi-Fi does not really work.

Comfortable, basic but had everything you need. We stayed in the double room at the back with ensuite bathroom. Friendly owner who recommended we take a stroll to the golf club for dinner and see the kangaroos! We did and it was brilliant. Good pub food and lots of kangaroos! Also recommend kayaking on the river with Anglesey Canoe hire which was fantastic for wildlife.

The house was too much cold. We were freezing inside. Fortunately, there was a little heater for the room, but in the morning the toilette, the shower, and the kitchen were a nightmare.
We asked for the wood (6 dollars more) for the fireplace, but it wasn't available. :/
Not very good.
The kitchen is old style, still for my grandmother, but there are a lot of tools.
The location is good, nice town, at the beginning of the Great Ocean Road.
The room was clean.
Something needs to be improved.

Excellent backpackers. 30$/n (dorm)
Great facilities.VERY CLEAN.
Very friendly staff, polite and quick to answer any questions I had.
I see a few reviews of people complaining, keep in mind it's backpackers.Don't judge a place for what it isn't .
Not a single complaint about this place from me.

We had a one night stay (we saw Elton John in Geelong, he was brilliant) in a private room with an ensuite and it was comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay there again and next time, would like more time to explore the surf beach and the interesting local shops.

A lovely place to stay whilst in Anglesea! The backpackers is very homely, with the use of free wifi, a tv, a fully functional kitchen, free bike hire and a nice outdoor decking. It is in within 10 minute walking distance of the shops and the beach.

The ladies who run the hostel are absolutely amazing. They make you feel so welcome and are happy to help out with any questions you have as well as making you feel very comfortable.

I stayed here for over a week at the start of the summer and thoroughly enjoyed myself. It is also without doubt the cleanest hostel I have stayed in whilst travelling.

I would 100% recommend it for anyone who is passing through and looking for a place to stay.

This backpackers hoster is very expensive for what it has to offer. Tiny room for 6 people with very thin foam pads, you can perfectly feel the slatted base underneath. The bathroom wasn't great either. Staff was friendly

This is a tiny little backpackers tucked away in a residential area, but within walking distance to beach, shops, pub, etc. The set up is like an extension of the owners' house, so offers a homely, quiet atmosphere in communal living area and kitchen. Staff are very relaxed, friendly, hospitable and keen to make you feel welcome and offer info on the region.
Dorms are clean, but a little too compact and in need of better ventilation... A fan at the very least to avoid the "bikram yoga" sleeping conditions with 6 bodies crammed in a room. Mattresses are just foam, so not ideal if you're prone to aches and pains.
A good crash pad for a night if you're passing through and looking for some mellow cocoon time away from hardcore adventure/party travel.
