Detailed Reviews
Ian the new caretaker was excellent and extremely helpful, with nothing to much trouble.
Considering the Showgrounds camping runs on volunteers to help, Ian should be applauded for his friendliness and willingness to go above and beyond to enhance your caravan and camping experience there.
The amenities were spotless and rubbish bins were emptied daily.
Congratulations to one and all for this brilliant opportunity to stay here.

My husband and I arranged to camp here for a quick last minute weekend getaway. The manager, Moya, was extremely helpful, and despite our somewhat late arrival after a few hiccups getting out of town, was there to greet us with a smile at 6:30 on a cold winters night. The toilet facilities, while old, were immaculate-I've never seen such sparkling clean mirrors in a camp ground facility! Our dog was super excited to be away from home, and was made as welcome as we were. We enjoyed visiting the local railway club, lapidary society and some fantastic food venues while there. We were even lucky enough to be at the annual beanie festival in time for the auction of some amazing art pieces disguised as beanies!

Clean facilities and friendly manager always supportive of my animals giving me a site a little further away, extremely kind when weather was bad, putting my van under cover.
Even let me pay after leaving my site as they (manager away early that day) were not available. I am a regular tho.

If you like being spoken to disrespectfully and treated like and inconvenience...…this is the place for you!
I chose to stay here for the 2021 Alexandra Pro Rodeo with a group of my friends, and it is clear to say we wont be staying here again. From the second we entered the gates we were spoken to disrespectfully, asked "well what's your problem" accused of lying and "adding more people" to our booking because members of our group showed up at a different time (our booking was made and paid for 8 people, only 7 came yet we were still accused of this) and locked out of the entrance and told anyone else who came for us ( who had been paid for) would be kicked out.
This park is in a great location and is neat and tidy, if only the caretakers could show as much care to the guests as they do the facilities.
I would not recommend staying at this park to anyone due to the level of disrespect that we were shown - id rather camp further out and being spoken to like a human being

We stayed at the park for a week out of season and found it quiet, relaxing and most enjoyable. Sitting around our fire pit in the late afternoon with the view of the hills behind the park inspired memories of Blairlogie and the Ochill’s in the hill foots of Scotland. Our hosts, Sue and Norm, were helpful, friendly and always happy to do something extra to make our stay more enjoyable. And Alexandra itself is a lovely town with friendly locals and close to Lake Eildon and Mount Buller.

This is our first trip to this Caravan Park. Pleasantly surprised. The Caretakers are excellent. The grounds are well cared for. Rubbish bin to site and emptied daily. Ammenities are spotless. Dog friendly and off leash area. Walking distance to town. Reasonably close to Melbourne for day trips. Would not hesitate to return here.

Beautiful spot to stay under the shady trees BUT the caretaker is a rude, interfering & moody man who doesn’t know how to speak to his paying customers properly. Unfortunately I’d never stay here again due to the caretaker!!!!!
