Situated in one of Sydney's finest suburbs, the building is archaic and unsuited for use as a hotel. Let me continue- my room was situated adjacent to the reception which was, as it eventuated, convenient for making complaints. My neighbours above had a room party...More
My business partner and I got the two last rooms - "family rooms" which means four beds jammed into too small a space and a shower/basin/toilet in a space so small one could not use the toilet without closing the bathroom door. The rooms were...More
We came here for a girls weekend. We are pretty low key people. We weren't expecting much, but this place really was appalling.
Loud leaking aircon that cleaning staff left a bucket underneath with a rolled up towel to help absorb the noise. When we...More
Great location close to lovely restaurants, boutique shopping, beach/harbour front.
The downside is that it was not clean - saw a cockroach in the bathroom, the bathroom door was filthy, the floor hadn't been cleaned in the downstairs breakfast eating area and place mats on...More
Right in the heart of double bay this is a fabulous, unpretentious little hotel. Sensational location. We just had a basic room but I see they offer suites which I can't comment on. Located near The Royal Oak hotel and all of the outrageously expensive...More

Australia > New South Wales > Sydney > Woollahra > Double Bay
Located in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, Double Bay is a one of the city's most beautiful harbour neighbourhoods. Designer boutiques provide a decadent shopping experience and dress some of the most beautiful people in Sydney. Sit down at one of the open air cafes for a latte or a meal and enjoy the people-watching. Double Bay was once an exclusive enclave for an older, elite population, but new
restaurants, late night bars, hotels and cafés are attracting a younger, vibrant mix, making Double Bay the place to be on the harbour.

Hi Alma, yes it is. cannot remember the room numbers but they are on level three of the hotel. There are also some rooms that face Knox Lane which runs at the rear of the hotel and they have a smaller terrace but the rooms are larger. There is a great pub across the road about 50m away and some great restaurants. I go to Sydney every couple of months for work, sometimes with my wife and sometimes on my own and found the Savoy last year after about 12 years of staying in different hotels largely in the CBD and Darling Harbour. Now I only ever stay at The Savoy and it is not down to value for money as I do not foot the bill but because the hotel is friendly and Double Bay is just so well located. Hope you have a wonderful wedding anniversary. Cheers. David
